La Soie Bridal
I got my dress from La Soie and the dress was absolutely gorgeous but the customer service that I received did not meet my needs. I didn't receive a call/email from them when my dress was ready and there were some complications in picking up the dress. The woman that I worked with when I got my dress was no longer there when I picked up my dress. I was deployed and thought I would receive some good customer service given the circumstances but that was not the case.
I had an absolutely wonderful experience at La Soie until the very end. I wish I remembered the name of the girl that helped me until this point, because she was just awesome! The dress selection is pretty extensive and I found the Allure dress I had my eye on. The seamstress really knows her stuff and did an amazing job for me. My weight fluctuated a lot since I had lost 8lbs in a 3 weeks. However, when I came back for the final fitting, I just felt like it didn't fit perfect. When I talked to the seamstress about it she told me "You're just stressed. It's in your mind." I thought it was so inappropriate and she kept saying it over and over and not listening to me. Rule #1 - Never tell a bride she's being crazy! Even if she is! When I came back to pick up my dress after "steaming", threads were hanging out everywhere and the entire slip underneath was wrinkled. They ended up steaming it again in front of me. I'm still shocked after all I paid they were willing to give me the dress in that condition. I'm sad the last couple visits kind of left a bad taste in my mouth, however they are still a thousand times better than David's Bridal and the dresses are beautiful. Still recommend!
La Soie Bridal gave excellent service both when I selected my dress and throughout the alterations process. I wanted an all lace dress and had a conservative budget. La Soie had beautiful options that worked for me. I ended up picking a dress by Allure, which is a great brand that is not widely carried throughout LA - at least not by many shops with the reputation and service standards of La Soie. My dress and veil came in early. When the time came for alterations, I needed a lot of work on the top of my dress. The seamstress and manager worked together to come up with a creative solution that looked amazing. Nobody had any idea how much had been done to it, and my dress fit like a glove. Thanks La Soie, for a wonderful experience!
I bought my dress at La Soie and was extremely pleased with the level of customer service I received. The manager, Veronica, went ABOVE and BEYOND for me, making sure that my dress was perfect. I had to get a few last minute alterations the week before my wedding and Veronica made me feel confident that everything would be perfect and ready on time, and it WAS!! I will definitely recommend La Soie to all my friends and family.
This was our first stop in dress shopping and the saleswoman, Fallon picked out the perfect dress and I fell in love. They have a large selection to choose from. Everyone that we worked with was kind and professional. The alterations went smoothly.
Excellent Service!! Beautiful dresses! I absolutely loved my dress!!! I felt so beautiful on my special day!
After making the rounds of local bridal salons, I was very excited to arrive at La Soie. They had the perfect selection of dresses. Some places were SO overwhelming with the selection, while others seemed to have the same dresses over and over. La Soie was instead, just right. They didn't seem to have copies and replicas of the same dress, and I wasn't overwhelmed with the selection. Instead, I had a great variety of beautiful, well maintained dresses to select from. The staff was incredibly helpful, but still low key. I didn't have someone asking if this was "THE DRESS" after each one I tried on. They were helpful and very low pressure. They left the decision up to me, instead of trying to push for a sale. The ordering process was way easy, with my dress and veil coming in much sooner than anticipated. The prices were pretty reasonable, especially for the quality they had. Shopping here was a fun experience, and I always recommend it to any girlfriends who are getting married.
I bought my dress at La Soie and was very happy that I bought it there instead of finding the dress at the cheapest place I could find in LA. It was a few hundred more than 1 or 2 places I found in the valley, but the workers at La Soie are so professional and sweet that it was worth it. They did all the alterations in house, so I didn't have to worry about my dress being sent out to some unknown 3rd party. They also steamed it in house before I picked it up, and continued to re-steam until i was perfectly satisfied. I never felt rushed or crowded, the store is extremely open and not claustrophobic like some of the stores I went to. I'd recommend it to anyone who is near Torrance.
AWFUL!!! DO NOT GO HERE TO GET YOUR DRESS!! I REPEAT DO NOT GO HERE TO GET YOUR DRESS! La Soie seemed so great when I first went there, but as soon as I went to get my alterations they kept messing up dress and they charged over $500 for alterations. When I went in for my 2nd alteration appointment they wanted to charge me more money for fixes that were not a problem in the first appointment. For example, the hip area was tight and they swore I had gained weight even though I had maintained my weight from my 1st alteration through my wedding (they shortened the dress from the bottom which cause the dress to be tighter). I went in for a 3rd alteration appointment and my dress still wasn't fixed, the same issues with the hips being too tight and the top part of the dress was not straight and they put on 2 different kinds of buttons on the back of the dress because they didn't order enough. They had essentially not touched the dress from the prior fitting but still wanted me to come in and get a fitting. Two days before my wedding and my dress STILL wasn't fixed- the top was still crooked the buttons were not matching, and the hips were still tight. I cried every time I went in to get my alterations and they kept promising me that dress would be fixed but never pulled through. I went 3 times in one day for alterations and they finally got a second seamstress to fix my dress, I FINALLY got my dress they day before my wedding, but because of this whole experience I didn't even like my dress anymore. This is NOT supposed to happen. We asked for a full refund for the alterations and they only wanted to give us $130 back. Even though they finally fixed the problems I should not have had to wait until the night before my wedding to find out if I was going to have a dress. Everything that could go wrong went wrong.
LOVE my dress, it was everything I could ever want. great prices too, friendly and accommodating staff.
Got my wedding dress here and thought the overall experience was okay - 3.5 stars. The salon is in a somewhat run-down looking strip mall, but the store itself is quite nice.
- Good selection of dresses in various price ranges. My budget was around $1,000-$1,500 and there were plenty of dresses to choose from.
- Dressing rooms are nice, big and spacious.
- You can take pictures! This is probably one of the best things about the store since you start to get really confused once you try on multiple dresses.
- Dress arrived even earlier than the estimated date, so no stress.
- The initial sales associate that helped me was great. She really listened to the styles that I liked and also provided good recommendations.
- Noticed 2 minor imperfections with the ruching on my dress but the associates kept insisting that it was just the way the dress was made and there was no way around it. They insisted that it would look fine when steamed. The steam helped but still think the dress had minor flaws.
- Some of the sales associates seem a bit passive aggressive (esp. when I was pointing out the imperfections mentioned above).
- The salon cannot "store" or hold on to your dress once it arrives, so if there is a few months between arrival and 1st fitting, you'll need to find a good place at home to store it.
- The magic bras they sell in store are ridiculously overprice. You can purchase anywhere online for 1/4 of...
I got to say that this was the first bridal shop I stopped by I was able to find "the gown" within that same day. (I did most of the research online, but found it's best to visit the bridal shops and see the gowns personally)
Mel, the sales associate was very professional and after a couple of questions she was able to narrow down to the gowns that I was most interested of. The gown I bought was beautiful and even though the alteration cost were a little too high due to the type of gown, I was really satisfied with the service at La Soie Bridal overall. I would definitely recommend them for future brides that are looking for good quality...
La Soie was the third place I looked at dresses. The first place was a nightmare and the second place was just to far. When I walked into La Soie they were friendly and very attentive. They made you feel that they were there for you. They were not pushy and so wonderful! After trying on dresses, I had an idea of what dress I wanted. Due to some personal reasons we had to push out our wedding date.
My mom and I went back about 6 months later. They still had my dress but I wanted to make sure it was the one. I tried on my dress and I knew it was it!
The staff was amazing. They were friendly and even cracked jokes which everyone needs since weddings are so crazy. If you are looking for a dress I would definitely go here if you want the...
I went in knowing exactly which dress i was going to buy, but asked her to put me in a few more to finalize my decision. I had already tried on the dress i had intended to buy at a notable high-end salon in orange county which I will not name here, but the service was SO TERRIBLE over there that I was really turned off from buying the dress from them. So I found La Soie, conveniently near my work! Francesca was my consultant and she was great :) She was very helpful helping me select dresses and putting me in them. Even better, the price of the dress at La Soie was more than HALF the price of the SAME dress at the other salon. No, it was not on sale... it was full regular price. I AM SO HAPPY I purchased my dress at La Soie. They are professional and wonderful.
I purchased my Allure gown in March and It arrived in July. I also had my alterations done through them, and the results were superb. Would definitely recommend this salon to any bride!!
At La Soie i worked with a woman named Angela. She was extreamly helpful and had a very good knowledge of her stock. When i described things i liked in a dress she was very quickly able to pull a great number of dresses in my price range in that style. The facility was beautiful and at no point did i feel pressured or obligated to make a purchase, which put me very much ease.
The ladies at La Soie were awesome! They were never pushy or negative, like many of the bridal consultants that I came accross in downtown LA. They were very helpful and accommodating. They even allowed me to bring in a bunch of bridesmaids and have a champagne toast at my final fitting! The only draw back is that their alterations lady is only there on Thursday afternoons, so I always had to leave work for a bit for alterations. Other than that though, they're awesome. They definitely enhanced the wedding planning experience.
La Soie Bridal was the first and only bridal shop I went to and found my dress on the first visit. My consultant was Melanie and she was very sweet and helpful. I knew I was in search of a Maggie Sottero and had a certain dress in mind which Melanie found for me but she also suggested a few other dresses for me to try on, one of which was not at all the style I was looking for. Well the dress that she insisted I try on happened to be THE dress and I fell in love with it and not only that it was a lot cheaper than the original dress I thought I wanted. I thought it was great that Melanie did not try to sell me the much more expensive dress but instead was honest with what looked best on me. I don't regret my decision at all and thanks to her I looked like a princess on my wedding day. My overall experience with La Soie was awesome!
I went to La Soie in Torrance a few months before we had our venue booked, so I was just "browsing" at this time. I showed Melanie (my original sales gal) pictures of dresses I thought I wanted to try on. She was able to pull almost all of them and actually pulled another dress she thought I'd like. When I first saw it, I thought, "it's okay, but I'll try it on." It was the first of six I tried on. I didn't absolutely love it until I tried on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th dress. I kept going back to this first dress which I just fell in love with. Silly me I walked out of there without buying the dress, a) because it was the first dress...I thought there'd be more dresses out there even more spectacular and b) I wanted to shop around for a better price. Needless to say, neither worked out. I went back to La Soie a few months later and bought my dress and veil there.
Francesca was the gal I worked with mostly after I bought the dress and she was so sweet. I have to say, the entire sales staff was never pushy to get me to buy the dress and they were always very professional and really made you feel like a bride when you were there. Even the gal who did my alterations was amazing (I don't remember her name). She was defintiely a pro with her work and knew exactly what she was doing. Brides, if you end up going with La Soie, rest assured you will get excellent service from everyone there.
I purchased my wedding dress from La Soie in Pasadena. Overall I had a really great experience. Most of the girls we dealt with were really sweet and made us feel relaxed and made the experience super awesome. There was one woman who's personality was a little bit harder to deal with, so if it wasn't for her the experience would have been perfect :)
I had a wonderful experience at La Soie Bridal. I came on a weekday and had their full attention. It was so easy to find my dress. With a few general guidelines, they pulled lovely gowns in my budget and I actually bought the first one I tried on. It was a stress free experience. The only small issue was when it came time for alterations. I planned to have my alterations done with them so that I wouldn't have to bring my dress home until just before the wedding. However, when it came in a few months before the wedding, they would not hold it for me until it was time for the alterations. I would have to bring it back. As I understand it, that's a little strange if you are using them for alterations. So...I had to take it home and thus decided to use someone else to alter my dress. Even with that...I'm so glad I went to La Soie. My dress was a La Soie label dress so it was very unique and I got many compliments on it.
I went to La Soie Bridal because of all the great reviews I read about them. I found my dream dress the first day I went in for my appointment! From there, for every fitting and alterations appoitment, the staff at La Soie treated me like a princess all while working in a personal and professional level. Thank you ladies! You helped me to find the dress of my dreams at an amazing price!
I went to try on my first dress at Davids Bridal and had a horrible experience. My friend took me to La Soie and from the minute I walked through the doors I felt like the girls there were devoted to helping me find the perfect dress. After trying a few dresses on and letting them know what I liked and didn't like they brought in a few more dresses and I found the perfect dress. It arrived ahead of schedule and the alterations were reasonably priced. I looked like a princess on my wedding day thanks to the ladies at La Soie! This place is a calm, stress free place to pick out the perfect dress for your perfect day.
La Soie was an unexpected gem! After a long day of rude encounters with bridal consultants in West LA salons, this salon was a breath of friendly fresh air. Angela was super accommodating, SO nice, honest and down-to-earth. She made me feel completely comfortable, and La Soie had a bigger and better selection of moderately priced gowns than any other store I visited. After I had a crazy episode of dress doubt, Angela was understanding and helped me find a great solution. Once my dress came in, I didn't have any family or friends who could come with me to the fittings, and the consultants did a fabulous job of swooning over my dress in their absence. :)
Alterations were reasonably priced & well done, but only available on Thursdays during the day, so fittings weren't the most convenient for my work schedule. And the store won't hold a newly arrived dress more than a month without charging. A teensy bit inflexible, but not a big deal.
I would recommend La Soie to any bride looking for a gorgeous dress on a moderate budget. Every single person I dealt with in this store was an absolute delight. And the dress I purchased was even more beautiful than I could have imagined!
So happy I found La Soie, shopping for a gown has never been easier. So many great things to say about this store, first, it's less than a mile from where I live. Second, the store does not overwhelm you since they have just the right amount of dresses. Third, they do not pressure you into buying. This was the first bridal store I've ever been to and was the last! I went there with my bestfriend and loved two dresses that Krystal brought in. I wanted a combination of both so I went home and did some research. I emailed Krystal the gown that I wanted and they ordered it for me. Everybody loved my dress, they all thought I had it made to order.
I have enjoyed every minute of my time with the La Soie girls. From the first day, I walked into that Salon, to the day of my wedding, they have been more than helpful by sharing their experiences and their honest opinions. They always remembered my name! (and that is so big when you are constantly talking to vendors--you begin to feel like you are only seen as an ATM machine).
The girls always knew what dresses I preferred...they knew every detail and helped me figure out how to piece every detail together--perfectly! I felt like these girls were more than bridal consultants but my closest friends or even my bridesmaids. Since I did have bridesmaids in all parts of the country, these girls also became my therapists as I went through the ups and downs of wedding planning!
My consultants went above and beyond for me. Through La Soie, we were able to order the exact color bow ties for our groomsmen that matched the bridesmaids dresses. I want other brides to know that La Soie is the best on Customer Relations/Customer Care. They never pushed me to buy a dress. They never pushed me to buy accessories. That is something so unique of bridal salons. Also, this salon is in a great place of Torrance. Nice and local. Very close to my home and I know that was a great asset about them. For alteration purposes, they have the best seamstress and she comes to the salon every Thursday! So close and convenient!
Originally I went here to compare prices of certain designer. I decided to try on some more dresses from different designers.
Francesca was helping me, and she was VERY nice, but not fake at all. I told her that I was open to trying on different dresses, with the exception of no taffeta. She pulled a lot of very nice dresses. When she pulled the Enzoani gown I was a little hesitant since it did not look that good on the hanger. EVERYTHING changed once I put the dress on- I knew I had found THE dress. It was perfect for me ,and I didn't not want to modify anything. I kept trying on a few more dresses just to "be sure" and I kept looking over at the Enzoani.
Great thing I got 10% off from a trunk show! My BM's would have got a discount on their dresses here too since I purchased my gown from them. However, there weren't a lot of choices that had to choose from.
I decided not to have my alterations done by their seamstress and they didn't "give me an attitude". =)
I had a wonderful experience trying on dresses here, since there was no pressure to buy. I would highly recommend going to La Soie.
They were amazing. Autumn was so helpful and sweet. They have an incredible selection too! Alterations were a bit pricey, but well done!
I've read mixed reviews on La Soie, but I had a great experience there. I first went to the Pasadena store on a weekday night and literally had the place to myself. I found a dress I loved, then later went to the Torrance store to try on that dress and some others with my mom and sister. I ended up finding THE dress there, which was from their own La Soie label (which is great because I've never seen my dress on anyone else). I felt that the price for my dress was good, definitely within my budget. But I did see dresses there by major labels that were more expensive than I had seen at other shops (ie Pebbles Bridal). My consultant, Veronica, was great. She remembered me from the first visit and had already pulled the dress I loved before I came in. The ordering process was easy and the dress came in way earlier than they predicted. My only complaint is that at one point I called to find out the length of my train so I could try to find a veil. The girl that answered the phone said "oh I'm sure it's cathedral length." She wasn't willing to go actually measure for me, which kind of annoyed me.
I didn't get my alterations done there because they only do them on Thursdays and I'd have to take off of work. I went to Reene at In Stitches in Woodland Hills, and she was great.
I purchased my wedding gown at La Soie in Torrance and couldn't have asked for a better experience! The layout of the store was open and modern. I had a variety of gorgeous growns within a reasonable price point to choose from and had the freedom to roam from rack to rack without someone breathing down my neck.
Veronica was my consultant and she was outstanding! She let me try on as many dresses as I desired and allowed me to take my time and think about each dress. I never felt rushed whatsoever. She didn't try to push her opinion on me, but when I inquired, she gave me excellent advice about which gowns would compliment my body type. She never pressured me into buying. I didn't purchase on my first visit because I was overwhelmed by the idea of finding a dress on my first day of searching. I made a follow up appointment with Veronica later that week and she was still sweet as pie and helped me pick out other dresses to try on so that I could be sure I selected the right one.
I had originally bought my dress at their Tustin location before it moved to Pasadena, so I ended up dealing with the Torrance location and picking it up there.
The dress selection at La Soie is really wonderful, it has more of a boutique feel and the dressing rooms are nice and big.
Soon after I bought my dress the sales girl who I had been working with and LOVED left for another job, so I never really had a single point of contact after that.
I felt like some of the girls working at this location were snobby and difficult at times but at the end of the day I got my dress, it looked wonderful and that's all that mattered.
If you are looking for a store that is really going to pamper you, this is not the place, but I would still recommend it as the dresses are lovely, its really clean and has a more high end feel than most other bridal salons.
The staff at La Soie is super friendly and helpful. My wedding gown and veil were simply gorgeous. The quality of my gown seemed like I had spent thousands of dollars but in reality I purchased it for less than a thousand dollars. I had compared similar priced gowns at David's Bridal but the quality was no where as nice as the gowns at La Soie. The best thing about La Soie is that they have gowns for every price range.
The bridal salon had a wide range of dresses at different price points. The associate who helped me find the dress was really sweet and very helpful (but can't remember her name =P). Most of the other associates i dealt with there were also friendly and enthusiastic. Before each of my appointments I received a reminder phone call.
The salon was clean and the dress was perfect! They have a seamstress who comes in to tailor the dresses. She did a good job (especially with a challenging bustle) but was a bit pricey. I ended up spending over $350 to have the dress hemmed, taken in, and bustled. But her quality of work was great and the dress was BEAUTIFUL. Unfortunately, she only comes in on thursdays during working hours, so i had to take time off work for my fittings.
They steamed my dress 2 days before the wedding and everything turned out great. The only other thing was that one of the girls helped me get out of my dress after it was pinned during a fitting, and she scratched me with the pins (on accident) and i was bleeding. But luckily, i didn't bleed on the dress! They also have veils (pricey), shoes, and accessories as well as a selection of bridesmaid gowns.
April 2010 - 3 Stars:
Bridesmaids' dresses came in. On the whole they were fine, but most had minor problems (i.e. belt backordered, piece of fabric not stitched down completely) and one had more moderate problems (missing hook, marks from fabric pen visible). I brought all of these to the staff's attention and they rectified the situation completely so I've added a star. I still maintain that the experience here is hit or miss; however, I had a very positive experience working with Crystal on this issue. She was very understanding and, as I said, got everything completely taken care of.
March 2010 Update - 2 Stars:
I have officially decided this place is hit or miss. Sometimes my experience is very nice and sometimes it's very frustrating. I found my dress here, ordered it through them (despite having other places willing to order it, possibly for less), found my BM dresses and ordered all of them through here (again, didn't have to), and planned to do my alterations and get my veil here.
The biggest positive for me about this store, besides it being pretty, is that they have a better selection of sizes than most stores. I've said in other reviews that I need (or needed when I was trying dresses) a 10, 12, or 14 in order for dresses to fit and it was quite frustrating to go to stores where they carried 6, 8, 10 only. Because La Soie carried more dresses (including mine) in slightly larger sizes, I wanted to support that practice by purchasing my dress through them. I expected to continue to receive the high level of service I felt I had received when trying dresses on after I purchased my dress, but I do not feel I got this. I had a number of problems throughout (some unfortunate accidents, but others less excusable), the biggest of which is their alterations, so I've detailed that one below.
Interesting trivia fact: La Soie does NOT have an alterations person on staff. You might be confused about this if/when you talk with them because when they are trying to sell you a dress they don't really spell out for you how their alterations process works (this is a nice way of saying they talk all about their alterations person and what she can do, but don't tell you she doesn't work there or anywhere near there). So allow me to break it down for you: You buy a dress there; it comes in and you try it on; if this "first fitting" is not on a Thursday afternoon, there will be no alterations person there (yes, that is apparently the ONLY time she is in their store); you will then have to take your dress home (yes, that's correct, even if you'd like it altered through their person, they will not hold it); if you want to use their alterations person, you must then bring your dress and come back on a Thursday afternoon (or drive to South Orange County to the woman's shop) where she will then do the (real) fitting and make alteration recommendations. Past this point, I don't know what happens because I am not coming back for alterations, nor do I plan to drive to Tustin to use their person. I am/was beyond frustrated that during my initial part of the dress purchase process NO ONE explained to me that there is not actually an alterations person on staff or there regularly! I now must locate an alterations person to bring my all lace dress in 1-2 sizes. This is a big deal to me and I've since learned that many other bridal salons only will alter dresses that were purchased through their salon, so this is something to seriously consider before purchasing here.
And, let me just clarify that, at the end of the day, my biggest issue is NOT that they don't have an alterations person on staff (although this is disappointing), it's that I feel they deliberately neglected to make that clear throughout my dress purchasing experience until it was too late for me to do anything about it and at that time were, quite frankly, rather rude about informing me of my options (as though I was being unreasonable for feeling misled). To me, this is extremely poor practice and poor customer service. At this point, I can definitely recommend La Soie as a great place to try on and find a dress, but beyond that, I'm not sure if I would recommend them.
Update - 4 Stars:
I came here to try wedding dresses on, despite the less than stellar experience I had had with my friend, the store itself was nice and I was in the area. As it turned out, I had a very nice experience here. I had one associate who helped me the whole time (Melanie), the dressing room was beautiful, the selection of dresses was good (not amazing, but not bad), and the sizes were pretty good as there were only a couple that were simply too small for me to try on. All in all, it was a very pleasant experience and I plan to come back here during my dress search and decision process.
Original Review - 2 Stars:
Stopped here randomly one day with my friend (she was the bride) while looking for bridesmaid dresses. Beautiful store, very clean and elegant. Dressing rooms were spacious and fantastic. I felt their selection was low, but despite that, we found a dress.
Tried to get the dress for me and other bridesmaids here, but when we got no responses from them (guess they didn't need our business?), we called the Tustin store and they were more than happy to help us out. So we went there instead.
This was the third bridal shop I had been to, and the first one where I found - not just one - but two beautiful dresses that I adored! This was also the first store that I had been to where I felt like a bride and was lavished with attention - all without an appointment! When I walked in without an appointment, Angela graciously took me in and showed me several beautiful options. Angela, by the way, is superb! Seriously, you should make an appointment with her because she is very attentive, makes great selections based upon what you want and your budget (several times she helped steer me away from dresses that were way out of price range), she is funny and very reassuring, and she lets you look at yourself in the mirror as long as you want! Overall, this store gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling, A+!
I loved my dress everyone thought it cost a fortune. They did a perfect job with tailoring!
Thanks La Soie
I got my dress from La Soie in Torrance. Honestly, I haven't encountered any of the unprofessionalism or attitude the other reviewers have mentioned. Everyone was helpful and nice. The girl at the store actually suggested the dress which was absolute opposite of what I wanted, but I ended up going with it. It was really stunning, and half the price that I was willing to pay.
The only thing which was not very convenient, is that they don't store the dress from the moment it arrives until the wedding. I don't know if other salons do that, but it was a pain to have the big puffy dress in my apartment for 2 months. Also the alteration schedule is very limited, and I had to take significant time off work to get to my alteration appointments.
The salon is beautiful and spacious. Second shop for me to try in the search for the prized wedding dress and I was optimistic about my sales associate. I was extremely interested in one of the dresses, however, I inquired as to whether adjustments could be made to the remove some of the detailing on the train and possibly the fabric. Her manager called the designer while I was in the store and I was told I would receive a call back regarding my question. I have yet to hear back, but don't believe it's the right dress for me. The sales associate also suggested I order dresses that I did not "love" and have drastic alterations made through her store, with no promise the dress would look as I would like. All in all, I did not like this approach.
Very dissapointing. I went to this store with 3 of my bridesmaids and asked about their bridal gown collections and price range. The asian lady that was speaking to us was so unpleasant. She said that they were closing in 15 minutes and that she was busy with another bride, she could have at least put on a good attitude and got more information on what the bride needed but she was more focused on the stores closing time. This store has a good selection of dresses but another thing that I noticed was that their gowns are over priced. My suggestion, go to other stores nearby that has the same bridal collections and save lots!!! I'm sure you will also receive better service from other bridal salons.
La Soie Bridal has some great dresses to choose from, from a good range in budgets. I easily found one within my budget ($1000-$1500). I also really liked working with the ladies at the Torrance store. Angela was the best - she always remembered me and what I was looking for (I came in multiple times). Anastasia (in the office) was also really good at getting back to me quickly whenever I called or needed to book a fitting. Since, I've recommended them to another bride who went went them as well and used Angela as well.
Of all of my vendors, this was my least favorite. The store location is nice, they have a beautiful selection and the staff was plesant to talk with but the service was horrible. During my appointment the sales associate kept taking calls and leaving me to wait for long periods at a time, after I purchased the dress they called back to say they forgot to charge me for something which I was not origionally told there was a fee for and they measured the dress incorrectly the first time. Also, this may be petty but they miss calculated the tax by 6 dollars, called to tell me it was URGENT that I call them back as they wanted me to mail them a check. I would think that if the six dollar error was theirs that they would just eat the cost versus bother me to ask for such a small amount when comparing it to such a large purchase. I thought it was just not very good business sense. Overall it was not a disaster but it is the only vendor I worked with that I would not reccomend. I went with them as they did offer the dress that I wanted but overall the service was very disappointing. I even took it someplace else to be altered and I purchased the rest of my attire (veil, jewerly, etc) else where.
I bought my wedding dress a month before my wedding. It was on accident, I was having a small beach wedding and wanted a simple dress but after talking to one of the sales ladies was so nice and helpful she found a dress that actually fit me. And it was on clearance and it was a floor sample so it was $600.00 and it was a size 14. Which i thought was great. I wasn't planning on spending so much in fact that was double what I wanted to spend but I felt like a bride. I had tried on dresses at davids bridal and I didn't feel like a bride. I think my sales person was Amanda? she was white and really really nice. She helped me so much, and finding something that fits and that looked good on me was amazing. I had a good experience there.
I went to La Soie for a couple of appts to try on dresses and for jewelry. It is really a nice experience that I think each bride should have.
They give you lots of attention and really attend to you well. The girls that work there are very nice and accommodating. I worked with a sales girl a couple of times who was wonderful - I ended up not getting my dress there as I found it at another store for $800 cheaper and the other store included the alterations. And La Soie would have been $800 more for the dress plus several hundred more than that for alterations.
the manager was quite pushy though - I had the dress on that I was thinking of purchasing and she actually wouldn't let me take it off. I think she was trying to force me to say I would buy it, I kept asking to get out of the dress, to bring my sales person back and she wouldn't, she kept me in the dress for an extra 20 minutes until my bridesmaid finally got really fed up and took me out of the dress while the manager or assistant manager was standing there. That was NOT a good experience.
But other than that. la Soie is a very nice place, a very good experience for brides, I did get all my jewelry there and they were an amazing help matching the tiara and necklace, earrings to my dress. and finding the right veil.
I just recommend, if you do find your dress there.. call around to other stores - I'm sure they have it cheaper (by a lot).
The girls at La Soie were great at listening to what I wanted and pulling things that matched. They stayed within my budget and made the process very easy.
I purchased my wedding dress here for my March 2009 wedding. It was a La Sposa dress in the $1500 range. Their selection is beautiful and decently priced. This is a great place for those girls who are looking for a bit more high end dress with beautiful details and cuts that will not cost them a fortune. They carry well known designers such as Maggie Sottero, La Sposa, Pronovias, etc. all in a mid-range price.
I loved that the dresses I saw here were more unique and special than those everyone is familiar with at David's Bridal. I also had visited Mon Amie in Orange County and although they carry more higher priced designers (Lazarro, Jim Hjelm, etc) I found the dress designs to be very similar. I also felt less time pressure at La Soie. The dressing rooms are very spacious and the sales girls were very attentive. I worked with both Melanie and Angela and both were friendly and helpful. They also carry great accessories. I would not recommend it for bridesmaids dresses since their selection is small. However, if you are searching for a wedding dress you should visit this store.
I loved this place the moment I walked in. The sales girl that helped me was very honest with her opinions & let me browse with out feeling pressured. I tried on tons of dresses before finally picking the one I bought (La Sposa) Months before my wedding, I ordered the veil to compliment my dress, but the manager (terrible at customer service, she needs her attitude checked!!) wasn't sure & was very insecure as to a time of arrival. I was under a lot of pressure, so I decided to order it. I called several times only to be directed to the manager there. She was very unpleasant to work with. I couldn't get an answer out of her as to when my veil was coming in. The veil finally came in & it was well worth the wait. TOO BAD THE MANAGER IS STILL THERE. If it wasn't for her (anastasia) La Soie Torrance would have received a higher, well deserved rating.
Very disappointed with the service. There is one girl there with a bad attitude. I don't know how she became the manager at the Torrance location. I was told all emails sent via website is directed to her before reaching the corporate office. It's too bad the corporate people are not aware of the unprofessional attitude. Whenever I asked her questions regarding alteration and wedding dresses, she would answer with an attitude as if she's doing me a favor or I was asking too much.??? she and another girl who helped me with a frown, were not knowledgeable with wedding dresses, except for one girl with the blond hair who was trying to be helpful with her opinions. I felt frustrated most of my time there.
I went in for alteration paying $350. They were behind schedule, so I waited. After the alteration, I asked a questions about their method. The manager who was helping did not know what I was talking about and would not let me ask the alteration guy saying he was backed up. My question would have taken less than a minute to answer. If she's the manager and has been working with the alteration person, who does all their alterations for that location, why wouldn't she know! Also, I took time off work because of the latest appointment for alteration done only on weekdays was before 5pm. I ended up waiting then, she tells me to "wait, there are others waiting to see him."
The store does carry a variety of very pretty dresses. I did not have any delays because I bought my dress 7 months in advance. They always tell you the dress will arrive or alteration will be finished before a week before you actually need it. No problem there. Again, I was very dissatisfied with their attitude and unprofessionalism (in particular-mgr in Torrance location). I would try their other location in Brea.
I didn't buy my dress here, but I had a great experience trying on dresses here, with Angela. I didn't want to spend over $1500 on a dress and Angela showed me soooo many beauties in that range (some even for under $1000). I'm a picky girl with Fred Segal tastes, so I was really amazed by the quality of dresses in my price range!! The dresses looked very fancy-- lace and beading was exquisite, and the cuts very flattering. Angela had a good sense also of what would look good and what wouldn't, but let me try whatever I wanted and as many dresses as I wanted. I really think I found "the one"!
Also the store itself is clean, elegant and large. The dressing rooms are huge, clean, and swank. It is the kind of place where you'd think the dresses would be overpriced-- but as I mentioned above the prices are excellent. Worth the drive to Torrance!!!
I purchased my dress form the La Soie Bridal store located in Tustin. The salespeople are all young and enthusiastic. They helped me select dresses to try on, provided me with suggestions and honest feedback of what looked good and what did not. The dressing rooms are large and the entire experience was fun.
I purchased the most beautiful wedding dress made by La Sposa. It was unique and much more luxurious and beautiful than anything I tried on at David's Bridal. The price was very reasonable.
I bought my weeding dress from them. It is a beautiful dress. They told me that it won't be ready by the date I wanted it so I forced to talk the dress maker myself to force them be on time. It was really stressful moment. But finally it came just on time :)
I loved working with La Soie! I fell in love with the first dress I tried on (although I tried on many more). My bridal party was treated to champagne and the dressing rooms are huge!!
