Ladera Caribbean Resort

We cut a lot of corners in planning our wedding (made our own favors, had my sister do my hair, had a DJ instead of a band, etc.) so that we could spend more on our honeymoon. It was SO, SO, SO, SO worth it! This place was amazing. It is open-air rooms. And you are on the side of a mountain, so there is no one to see you if you're getting changed or skinny-dipping in your private hot tub. It was so cool! We'd wake up and see a beautiful, exotic bird sitting on the back of one of the chairs in our room. Just amazing. A little pricey - but like I said - totally worth making sacrifices for.

This place was worth the $800/night. And that's a huge compliment. Because that is a steep price.

Ladera is an interesting idea - 3 walls with the fourth wall open to a fantastic view but fell short in many areas. Service was sub-par, food was good but incredibly expensive (none of our dinners were less than $130). Not much to do on the grounds. This would be a cool place to go to and stay a night or two, but not really for a long period of time.

This place is one of a kind and fit for kings/queens! My husband and I had heard good reviews about it from a friend and so we decided to check it out. The resort is located on a hillside next to the beautiful Piton mountains and the carribean sea. Our room was amazing, it was open-aired and you could see the stars from our bed. In each room they provide a star chart, so you can locate the different stars and constellations. It was a neat touch. We also had our own private plunge pool at our room. The resort is relatively small which was nice because it wasn't really busy and you had a lot of privacy, quiet, and relaxation time. The staff is well trained and well mannered. They were very attentive and helpful and did everything they could to make our stay special. We got special treatment since we were honeymooners and that made it fun. We are hoping to go back for our 5 year anniversary, and many more times beyond that. We've already recommended it to a lot of people!
