Lapis Luna Vintage Jazz

Book them. No, really. Book them. No matter if you are also looking at dance bands, DJs, motown groups, whatever you think MAY be the better choice...it isn't!

They blew us away the day of our wedding on July 29, 2011 in Manhattan. They set the tone, truly. We heard this from our friends all night --"What an elegant and classy wedding and your band! WOW! This feels like Old New York!"

They played standards, jazz, and swing and everyone of all ages was dancing. The volume was just right, too! People could speak to one another at our tables and weren't blown-out by blaring speakers.

And incase I haven't sung high enough praises for them, know this...the band leader Shawn and all the musicians are so professional and so nice. They cared about us and our wedding. They are all so talented and truly special people. THANK YOU, AGAIN!!

Unbelievable band! A huge hit at our Sunday brunch wedding! Not only were they incredible to listen to & beautiful to look at, but they worked with our budget and were extremely helpful and flexible throughout the entire planning process. They made our wedding such a success!

This band is so much fun to work with! They complimented our day and created a classy mood, where people could either sit back and enjoy or mingle without getting drowned out. They even went the extra step and covered "Rock and Roll All Night" for the entry song for the wedding party. They are incredibly flexible and proactive to meet our needs.

FABULOUS! would not have changed a thing. Lapis Luna provided the perfect music for our day wedding at Bryant Park Grill. In the words of one of my guests: "They set the right mood, didn't overpower the day." Shawn the bandleader is excellent--she and the band get a bit busy when they're touring around, so she sometimes took a while to respond but no worries, she's super professional and on top of everything.
Can't say enough good things. Beautiful music! They have a good repertoire and a wonderful presence. Some guests wanted their CD's!!!

Book them now! They are awesome! Shawn has an incredible voice and the band is just amazing. Shawn, the band leader, was always very responsive and flexible and enthusiastic and supportive. Interestingly, because my reception place messed up, they were on the floor instead of the stage, so guests at first thought that we were piping in great music from somewhere before they realized that it was live.

Lapis Luna is fantastic! The music they choose and Shawn's voice are absolutely perfect. I was so excited that they were able to come so far for our wedding. Unfortunately it was incredibly hot in a place with no AC....so everyone danced to the first dance and that was about it. That was no reflection on them at all. The only thing that wasn't perfect was when their "Time was up" they stopped right away and packed up. Of course I understand, but there were still people hanging around - it would have been really great if they played another few songs. Again - they are an amazing band.

Lapis Luna was a great band choice. They were fun, energetic, and great musicians. They played classic swing music that everyone can enjoy and dance to, and it was not pretentious in any way. A very elegant choice. They were also very easy to work with and reasonably priced.
