I got my dress here for my Sept 24, 2011 wedding. The store owner Margherita is amazing and her employees are also very good (Maria is great!). You can't look through dresses here but if you give them an idea of what you are looking for they will find you the perfect dress. Margherita does phenomenal tailoring. She altered my wedding dress multiple times until I thought it was perfect.
I strongly recommend LaSposa!

Let me just say there is a reason why Margharita has been in business at La Sposa bridal in Newton, MA for so many years. She is professional, honest, hard working, and very caring with her clients. She wants to take care of you, and makes you feel like you're right at home (right down to the delicious biscotti's on her counter!) I told her i wanted an empire style wedding dress. She didn't even ask me my size, and just pulled out one of the most gorgeous gown's I'd ever seen. She really knows her stuff! I bought the dress right then and there, (3 weeks after getting engaged) and never looked back. She is such a wonderful person to work with. I can't say enough good things about her. I ended up getting my bridesmaid and flower girl dresses at Pricilla of Boston, but really wished i had stuck with La Sposa. The week before my wedding, we found out the flower girl dresses were too small, and Pricilla was unwilling to help us out. There is a reason why they are now going out of business! HORRIBLE customer service at Pricilla of Boston! I brought the flower girl dresses to Margharita and she was able to fix them right away. I dont know what we would have done, so for that we are very greatful. Thank you again Margarita, and i'll get you a picture soon! :) - Jenna

I had a great experience at La Sposa Bridal! The first time that I went in I explained to Margherita what I wanted. The first dress she pulled out for me was perfect and I ended up purchasing it. She was great for the several fittings and pays close attention to detail. She does all alterations in house and does a great job. Also, this is the same place that my mother got her wedding dress 28 years ago!

My attendants and I had a wonderful experience with Margherita and her staff. It's a little, traditional shop that knows that SERVICE is what really matters!! It began when we were looking for my maid of honor's dress during her school break. They had a huge selection, and we found the perfect style that all the attendants decided they wanted. Margherita asked about a dress for me. I was not ready to begin trying on but I had an idea of what I wanted (six months before the wedding) since I wanted to lose weight first! She pulled out several dresses and found what I wanted. At the first fitting if it hadn't had shoulders (short sleeves) it would have fallen off me! I proceeded to lose about 35 lbs. before the wedding that meant the dress had to be completely taken apart and remade. Of course this meant lots more work for Margherita and her staff, but they were as happy as I was at my loss of weight. My attendants were all far away (one out of the country) until one week before the wedding and La Sposa did their fittings in that short week. And since La Sposa Bridal carries all accessories, too (shoes, veils, bras, etc.) it was so easy and individualized. We were completely happy!

Margarita at La Sposa Bridal was wonderful to work with. As soon as I walked in to her boutique, she told me she had the perfect dress for me, and she was SO right! I LOVED my dress; it was absolutely meant for me. Margarita was easy to work with, and offered very reasonable prices on her gowns, accessories, and alteration work. I would highly recommend the intimacy and personalized service of La Sposa!

The dress was gorgeous! Alterations were done well. Helpful staff, but shop can be very busy at times. Best to shop during the week rather than the weekend, and best to make appointments.

Margarita was fantastic. She did a few minor alterations on my dress and sewed the bustle and the dress looked amazing. She has a great eye for what looks good and what doesn't. I had a great experience with La Sposa.

I bought a WONDERFUL Sottero and Midgley dress at La Sposa. It was literally the second dress that I tried on, and every store I went to after that just reaffirmed that I got the perfect dress at an amazing price. The owner Margharita can be a bit startling with her comments, but with 25 years experience, I guess she doesnt want to beat around the bush. The alterations that they made were AMAZING!!! I have a DDD, size34 bra size and havent worn a strapless dress in 8 years, but I wore one on my wedding day!!! I cant say enough good things, and would also confirm that if you treat the staff with respect you wont be dissappointed.... I got a GREAT deal....and couldnt have had a better experience!!!

The ladies at La Sposa Bridal were fabulous! I got started on the search for my dress early, and with La Sposa being only my second stop, I found the perfect dress almost 9 months before my wedding. They were wonderful in storing it until I was ready to pick it up. In addition, my mother also found her dress there and she was visiting from Michigan. Margherita, a wonderul seamstress, did such a perfect job on my mother's dress, that she didn't even need to come back for a second alteration. Each time I went into the shop the ladies made me feel welcome, they were excited to see me try on my dress and wanted to hear all of the updates. At the last minute I decided that I needed to add another piece, which was not available in the shop, and the ladies made sure that I had it on time before getting on a flight for my wedding. This type of service is rare, La Sposa Bridal is a true gem.

My dress was the hit of my wedding, every person commented on how beautiful my dress was. The staff at La Sposa knew exactly what veil went perfectly with my dress and they tailored it to fit me perfectly. Their dresses fit into my budget (which was very small) and I am not the size of most model samples in other stores so I was so happy to find several dresses in my size.

I went to 2 other shops before stopping in at La Sposa. Not one of the dresses I tried on in the other shops even fit me. Then I went to La Sposa, and every single dress I tried on fit and looked great. It only took a few before I found "the one". The veil Margherita, the owner, paired with the dress was beautiful, and I still get compliments about it. I got all of my bridesmaid dresses here, and everyone looked beautiful. My gown was strapless, and it was the first strapless wedding dress I have ever seen that actually fit on the top and did not gape open. They did an excellent job taking it in and fitting it to my body.

La Sposa offers a huge selection of dresses. The staff is very friendly and they provide attentive service with an appointment. I had a lot of bridesmaids and I think it wore on them a bit, because they started to lose their patience at times. Often, I felt at fault or responsible for a late measurement, etc. We had our alterations done there as well. Mine were extensive, because I'm short and I needed all the beadwork moved up three inches. My dress came out perfectly, although my train kept falling down. However, three of my bridesmaids alterations were done wrong. One girl barely fit into it (they told her she gained weight. She hadn't!) and two of the girls' dresses were too big. The day of the wedding, we were taping them into their dresses. We all made it through the day, and the dresses looked beautiful, but I'm not sure how comfortable some of my girls were feeling. Anyhow, I was satisfied overall but felt I should be as honest as possible. The service was good, but could've been much better.

La Sposa was wonderful to work with. My dress was beautiful and I got such a great price on it. Before I went there I was skeptical because I had read reviews that the owner was hard to work with, they won't tell you the make of the dress, and other things like that. None of that is true - the owner is SO talented and very sweet. I went in there one morning in my 3rd week of looking for dresses. I was discouraged because I didn't LOVE anything I tried on and you have to LOVE your wedding dress. She brought a dress out of the back as I was looking through the racks and told me to try it on. It was beautiful but I didn't think the cut would look right with my body shape. I was wrong, when I walked out and looked into the mirror I knew instantly it was the one I wanted. I bought it then and there, she did alterations and did a wonderful job cleaning it after my wedding. We had a second wedding in Turkey and before we went there she managed to get all the stains out and fix the tears and missing beads in the bottom - it looked like new. I have recommended La Sposa to friends and would highly recommend it to anyone. She's absolutely wonderful! Thank You La Sposa!

Be sure to get prices and information in writing. Family owned and there was some confusion with communication about the veil. It all worked out in the end. Advice: Treat all workers with respect and kindness both in person and on the phone and they will help you cut costs. If you are rude and disrespectful you will pay full price on everything. Had best price for bridesmaid dresses. I found the dresses in another store with a bigger selection and had La Sposa look it up and ordered them for me for less.
