SWOON!! I loved, loved, loved working with Laura! We asked Laura to create one of her fabulous maps for our Save the Dates. They came out sooo adorable and exceeded our expectations! She responded to me almost instantly each time I emailed her. The whole process was very fast and I received my STD's in only 2 weeks. Our guests loved them and many of the compliments we recieved were from guys! (Who says they don't appreciate the details?!)

I definitely wanted to have our place cards done in elegant calligraphy but couldn't find anyone in our area that I was real impressed with. We were going to have our invitations and everything done through Laura, but the costs added up really quickly! We were very happy with just having the place cards done though. They looked great and the turnaround time was very reasonable!

Laura is the best! It all started with the save the date ( a tri-fold with a map) and then I was hooked. She designed, printed and did the calligraphy for ALL my stationery products including: save the date, invitations, envelopes, stamps, menu, programs, thank you notes, welcome notes, escort cards, petal bags, wedding sings. Everything was beautiful, custom designed and unique. It was done on time and she was a pleasure to work with. I am going to miss talking working with Laura and hope to find new projects to work with her on.

I contacted Laura about the placecards for our wedding - and I couldn't have been more happy with the result! Her "Ella" font was perfect for our vintage-inspired (but still whimsical) spring garden wedding. I received many comments from our guests telling me how beautiful they thought the placecards were and how well they fit into our wedding. I only wish I'd known about Laura when we were sending out our invitations or I would have asked her to do the calligraphy for our envelopes as well (we just printed them on an ink jet printer, no where near as nice as they would have looked had Laura done them). Laura also provided the card stock for the placecards, which made the process that much easier and more convenient. Laura couldn't have been nicer or easier to work with, and the finished placecards arrived just a couple of days after I sent her the wording! I would highly recommend her to all other brides out there.

Our wedding stationary designer suggested we work with Laura on the calligraphy for our envelopes and I'm so happy we did! Laura was absolutely wonderful to work with. She always replied to emails very quickly (and that is so nice for a stressed out bride!!), was very professional and just sweet as can be. This was the single most important part of the wedding. My fiancé proposed in January, and he wanted to be married by summer. So we needed to have the cards in the mail as soon as possible. We found it easier to pick cards online, and I fell in love with how cute and whimsical the Laura Hooper invitations were. I loved that we could get cute save-the-dates, and invitations, and thank you cards all at the same place. My mother also thought it was important to get maps so that family members would know where they were going. JH had great customer service, and I think they also make it easier to figure out what the wording should be on the cards with their samples.

We chose Laura for her save the date maps and were very happy for that choice! Our maps turned out very cute, with such fun details, and quite lovely calligraphy. Working with Laura was a breeze. She was very professional, accommodating, and so kind. We corresponded through email and I received everything (replies, proofs, updates) in such a timely manner (she even returned an email while on vacation!!). The end product is just so great and my overall experience makes me smile :) We are hoping to work with her again for invitations.

She does wonderful work. She is very nice and has good ideas regarding script styles, colors, etc. I used her for both save the date envelopes and our invitations (inner and outer envelopes). My envelopes all looked great – especially the invites! She made minor mistakes on 3 envelopes, but she quickly fixed them. I would highly recommend her and plan on using her again in the future.

I just received my Save the Date map postcards from Laura - and let me tell you, I am so so excited for my guest to start finding them in their mailbox! Laura was very easy to work with. I am impressed how quick the process was to order, proof and recieve them on my front door - and I'm in Alabama! I highly recommend using Laura for any of your calligraphy needs!

These invites were lovely and a fraction of the cost of many others (especially those claiming to be free with your tux, that would have cost me over $700). I got all of the things I needed, return addresses printed, response cards invites etc. We were able to just go online, pic out the invite, colors and whatever specifics you needed. It showed you what you picked, colors how the words fit, right away and gave the price for all. It was easy. The only thing I was a little surprised at the smaller size of the invite, but I'm sure the measurements were there and I just overlooked them. It was still pretty and it fit into a regular envelope. Another good this is that it told you what invites would cost extra when shipped, which is nice because it isn't just the square ones.

Laura is amazing in every aspect of the word. She made such beautiful envelopes and place cards for my sister's wedding. She isn't even located in Texas but she did an exquisite job and I got several compliments from the guests on the finished product

Yes, she is not really that affordable, but her work is so worth it. After seeing my girlfriend's invites where Laura worked her magic, I was totally convinced that I needed her services too. I couldn't have been happier. Her work is truly amazing and a wonderful personal touch to any invitation suite. She's responsive and very easy to communicate with. It's worth it!

Absolutely beautiful invitations!

Laura was absolutely amazing to work with. We had her create a custom map save-the-date postcard which turned out fabulous. The buildings are almost exact replicas of the real things and the color/layout/overall design looks great. They are exactly what we were looking for. Not only is her work amazing, Laura is so nice that she makes the process incredibly easy. We completed all of the work over email and she always responded quickly and attentively. Plus, I made a few changes throughout the revision process and she was so accommodating about all of it. I would HIGHLY recommend Laura for whatever you need.

While the calligraphy was beautiful, Laura's organizational skills could use some practice.

Not only did Laura lose a few envelopes, she incorrectly wrote a few addresses (wrong zip codes, wrong address numbers) and even wrote one upside down on the envelope! She was also impossible to reach by e-mail or by phone. I left numerous messages and not one was returned.

She told me I could pick up the envelopes in the store - not only did she not show up, the envelopes weren't even left with the clerk so I could just pick them up! She didn't even call to let me know she wouldn't be there (despite the fact that I had given her my home #, cell #, and work #).

I was given a coupon for 50 free escort cards...why bother when they probably wouldn't be done in time?

I received my envelopes yesterday and all I can say is that the pictures on the website don't do her justice! That was the first thing I thought when I opened my package. Even the way she presents her work in the shipment is special! The pictures on her website are beautiful, but nothing prepares you for seeing her work in person. The lettering and designs are so intricate that I was amazed! She is very easy to work with, accommodating, and always responds to emails or phone calls right away. Initially I wanted the envelopes done and now I am thinking of having my placecards, menu's and programs done by her.

If you are reading the reviews and wondering if it would really be worth it, I can't stress enough.. IT IS! She is the best!

My invitation envelopes arrived last week and I was very impressed with the quality of Laura's work. Placing my order was a breeze and all was done via email - Laura is quick to respond and very helpful. I knew I was in for a treat but the final result exceeded my expectations. Even my fiancee commented on how impressed he was with her work. I loved the results so much I'm now having Laura write my escort cards. I highly recommend her!

I found Laura by doing a google search for calligraphers in the Los Angeles area. I was impressed by her website so I contacted her. I was able to get right through and arranged to drop my envelopes off within the next few days. I requested to have the envelopes back within 25 days of drop off and they were done in 6 days! When I picked them up I was blown away. They are beautiful! I had been impressed with Laura's work on her site, but that does not hold a candle to what it looks like in person. Her work is truly exquisite. We are now looking for other things we can have her work on for our wedding. We plan to order sand dollar place cards from her as well. Laura is professional, courteous and reasonably priced. I highly recommend Laura Hooper calligraphy.

Laura did an excellent job on the calligraphy for our wedding invitations. She was immediately responsive to all of my questions and very helpful in providing design advice. When our envelopes were delayed over a week, she was able to finish all of the calligraphy within a day to keep us on schedule. Her prices are great and her work is wonderful I would highly recommend her without qualification!

As a life-long paper addict, I really wanted to leave my mark on the wedding, to reflect class and history and be memorable, all without spending a fortune. I kept running across Laura's name, first via a magazine, then the Crane paper blog, and finally on Etsy. When I sent her my ideas for a historically-drawn palm tree and RSVP postcard, she responded right away with a great price and great ideas. I was so excited to be able to work with a calligrapher and ended up finding more and more projects for her. She was such a joy to work with and so friendly and prompt; it was such a blessing to have a real person to consult on stickier etiquette details, and that solved a lot of family arguments ("LAURA said..."). She always returned proofs and products before deadline, and even squeezed in my programs at the last second.

Every time I got a package or an email from her, I couldn't have been happier with the product. My fiance couldn't stop talking about our invitations, and people assumed we were having a large, expensive wedding because of how gorgeous they were. A bunch of people told me they weren't sending back the postcard because they were going to keep it! She also designed our programs, placards, and table signs, and guests came up to me at the reception specifically to tell me how beautiful they were. Everyone was just CRAZY about the programs.

Laura worked with us to create Save-the-date announcements and we are absolutely thrilled with the results. We worked together to customize the map - understand this is a process - Laura sent us the first draft and then was very open to changes and additions that we made. Laura created a personalized hand drawn map for my wedding invitations. I have an extreme attention to detail and I was very impressed with the final product. Laura was always very prompt in returning my emails, which was greatly appreciated. She was happy to accommodate all of my requests, even the super picky detailed ones. She also made sure I received my maps, here in florida, with enough time to meet my invitation mailing date.

The total cost was around $500-$600 for 100 double sided color maps.....I had written directions and hotel info on the back. I'm a firm believer in "you get what you pay for", the price was worth it for the quality and attention I received. I am looking forward to having my map printed onto tote bags for my hotel guests! I highly recommend using this vendor, you will truly be impressed!

I jumped out of my skin when I received my invitations for my upcoming wedding in Santa Barbara. Laura's work is amazing; beautifully designed and impeccably finished. I could not wait to open the FedEx box and discover the delicateness of the invitations, response cards, and the beauty of the calligraphy. Laura created the most adorable save-the-date maps for my Cape Cod wedding. When I found LHCalligraphy on the web, I immediately fell in love with the custom maps! And when I saw pictures of Laura's invitations and calligrpahy, I knew I wanted her to create my invitations. Although I have never met Laura face-to-face (I live in NYC), the process of working with her was seamless (and conducted mainly via email). I picked out a few designs of Laura's that I liked, I told her the colors and calligraphy I liked, and she designed a beautiful invitation suite (invitation, reception card, response card, and custom map). Laura was also helpful in guiding me into a paper that I would like (she mailed me samples so I could gauge what paper stock would be best for me). Finally, she also did a wonderful job with the custom map -- the time she took to get every last detail "perfect" was greatly appreciated. The end result was a beautiful invitation set that I've gotten TONS of compliments on! Next project? Working with Laura on the menu and program!

Laura Hooper is truly an amazing artist. Her artwork is beautiful and she's fabulous to work with. She's helpful when you're trying to decide all the details from which font to choose, paper type, map style, etc. The end result was amazing! I chose a save the date with a map and travel details - all of my guests keep calling to tell me what a wonderful idea it was.... Well, it wasn't me. It was Laura! It was such a special piece and now I'm looking forward to working with her on my next project (destination info. for the welcome bags). If you're wondering if it's worth the money, it is. Laura did the calligraphy for my daughter's save-the-dates & wedding invitations. She was recommended to me by my wedding planner. Laura was an absolute dream! I stumbled upon a sample of her work on a blog and immediately inquired with her about creating save-the-dates for my upcoming destination wedding. I live on the East Coast and was unable to make a personal appointment with Laura to view her works in person. Within several days I had a handful of (free!) samples showcasing her talents. Laura was absolutely amazing and provided the absolute best service exceeding all other wedding vendors we worked with. She responded to emails so quickly that I thought she must be cloned, and she was incredibly professional and fixed an error on one of our seating cards very quickly 4 days before our wedding and overnighted the card across the country so it arrived days early to soothe a stressed bride!!

Laura did such a beautiful job on my save-the-dates and wedding invitations - I absolutely loved them. We had a destination wedding so we did some custom pieces and Laura was so flexible and accommodating with the design and the edits, that it made the entire process super easy. She also suggested coordinating stamps which pulled the look of the whole invitation together. My original invitation lady & calligrapher decided to tell me 2 days before the promised finish date that the calligrapher was getting backed up with work and would not have my envelopes done by the promised date. Laura did the invitations, response cards, and maps for my wedding. I could not be more happy with the order! Although I live in NY, I found that working with Laura over email was easy. As an east coast bride planning a west coast wedding, I definitely appreciate vendors who are easy to work with and reliable. Laura has proven to be both; she responds quickly to emails, and returned my envelopes in just under 2 weeks! Once I saw how beautifully they came out, I immediately booked her to do my placecards and other wedding materials. The Ella font is fun, modern, and striking all at the same time, and the prices are very reasonable considering the quality of her work.

When it came to doing something different for my save the date cards for our destination wedding, I definitely wanted something fun and inviting. I knew that I wanted to use her maps after coming across her work on this website - they're amazing! Laura created custom save-the-date maps for my destination wedding. The map/save the date card turned out so wonderfully! I looked at some previous maps she had drawn and incorporated many of those same design elements, but Laura also created a few new custom illustrations for my map. I was so excited about the map that I ordered a large keepsake version that my fiance and I are going to frame and put in our new house! If I can fit it into my budget, I am going to have her design my invitation as well. Laura is responsive: a call or email is quickly answered. She is straightforward and professional: no upselling or surprises and always a prompt turnaround. She is creative and incredibly skilled: the hand she used on our invitations and custom ink color translated into beautiful artisan calligraphy. All I can say is that you haven't seen calligraphy until you've seen Laura's work. That was the first thing I thought when I saw my envelopes. The pictures on her website are beautiful, but nothing prepares you for seeing her gorgeous work in person. The lettering and designs are so intricate and fine that my fiance and I sat for thirty minutes, looking at each addressed envelope in amazement. She is also very easy to work with, gracious, and accommodating of scheduling. I'm trying to think of more excuses to have calligraphy done!

After all the celebration and shock had gone the whole wedding planning started. At first, like many newly engaged girl, I just became overwhelmed with all the possibilities, decisions, and options I had with such a vast Industry as that of weddings. For me the easiest decision I have had to make so far was on the Invitations. I looked at several vendors where I live, Puerto Rico, and the options where nice but they just didn’t convince me. They where either too pricey or just not my taste, I then turned to the greatest invention of the 20th century, the internet. Laura Hooper is a super talented calligraphist from California, her work really speaks for itself. She not only has great taste but her work is really versatile, affordable (she has a wide range of prices) and she is very professional. I wanted my invitations to be very simple, yet elegant and with a subtle “beachy” feeling, and thats exactly what I got! Seeing all of the names and addresses of people I know and love so beautifully written on MY invitation envelopes is one of those "wow I am really getting married" moments...I'm so excited, thank you so much!

Ryan just arrived with the envelopes and I am absolutely stunned! They are so gorgeous I am nearly speechless! You have such an amazing talent and perfected skill! I just can't quit looking at them! Thank you so much for all of your hard work and attention to detail. I just can't wait to show everyone! I have to say that I am a bit sad that I'll have to send them because they are just so wonderful. I guess I'll just have to take lots of pictures! BTW, I have been spreading your name around the knot message boards and now I have something to show the girls (besides a link to your website)! I am already getting excited about the table name cards, the place cards, and perhaps a Program (I haven't asked you about that last one yet, but I will)!

I am sorry for the delay in sending this to you...but I wanted to say thank you for the work you did for my wedding this past July. I wanted to let you know that I absolutely love your work.
