Laura's Bakery

Our cake(s) ended up better than we could have imagined. We met Laura at the bridal expo. in Charlotte and booked her after our first meeting because her price was the lowest we could find and we were on a tight budget. We didn't have high expectations.

Our cake design was drawn out almost 1 year prior to our wedding day. A surprise grooms cake was arranged about a month prior to the wedding.

Laura did an immaculate job on both cakes. Our cake(s) were the highlight of the evening (that and the open bar!), our wedding cake actually ended up a decoration to our ceremony.

We couldn't be more pleased with everything. Laura was so nice to work with, her prices are phenomenal, cake looked amazing and tasted even better!!!

Laura's cakes are delicious!!!! We found her at the Bridal show held Jan. 2008 at the Charlotte Convention Center. Her cakes are fabulous! Our guests told us that most of them had 2 pieces because it was so good they wanted to try to other flavor. She did an excellent job decorating our cake and it was just really easy to work with her.

Laura did such a great job, and was easy to work with. I really loved my cake! It looked even better than the picture I gave her. And it tasted so good. Multiple people have commented on how delicious the cake was.

I found Laura's Bakery at the Charlotte Bridal Convention and I sampled her cakes. They were delicious! I immediately set up a time to meet with her and looked through her photo albums. I showed her the magazine picture of the cake I wanted (but switched up a bit) And she was able to replicate it beautifully! I was really happy with the final product.

I loved her wedding cakes! Her almond flavored cakes are to die for!! She also makes you cakes to the way YOU want them and at an affordable price. There was NO cake left after the reception. everyone loved it.

The cake tasted excellent! It was by far the best cake I have ever had and everyone agreed! Emailing her isn't the best way to get in contact with her because she never returns them. Phone seems to work best. A month or so before our wedding we changed the cake design just slightly and I had confirmed it with her but the end result was not exactly what we wanted so it was somewhat of a dissappointment, but at least it tasted delicious!

Cake was delicious and beautiful, we received so many compliments.

This cake was the best wedding cake I've ever had. I went to a bridal show and tried cakes from 3 different vendors back-to-back, and this one had the best cake AND best frosting by far. She works out of her home. The cake was about $2.50 per slice, which is a lot cheaper than a piece of dessert at a restaurant! We had two kinds - almond and lemon, with buttercream frosting. The almond was wonderful, although it was more "normal." The lemon was superb. If you like lemon flavor, you would absolutely love this cake. Many of our guests commented on it. The only problem we had was that we decided not to save our wedding topper for a year because everyone said it gets frostbitten and tastes awful. So rather than waste yummy cake, we ate it on our 1-month anniversary and then planned to order another small cake from Laura on our one-year anniversary, so we'd have a nice, fresh one. I called and left messages twice and never heard from her again. Maybe in June she doesn't want to waste time with "small" orders or something - I don't know, but I was disappointed. I had foot surgery a week before our 1-year anniversary so that was something I had been looking forward to, and it just never happened.

First of all I do have to say that the cake was quite good flavor wise. As far as the cake I had met with her to go over the ideas of the cake. I brought pictures of what I wanted. However when my wedding day came around she dropped the cake off before I could meet with her to make sure the cake is was what I had wanted and paid for. By the time I went down to see the cake it was nothing like I wanted and it was about to fall over. There were not enough support in the cake. I was very dissapointed with the outcome. My florist and caterers had to do there best to fix the cake by adding flowers and placing the cake in a way so the leaning look presentable. All in all the cake looked nothing like what I had visioned for my wedding day. Good thing we could laugh at the situation later, but again very dissapointing. Im hoping it was just an off day.

Absolutely Delicious!!! After tasting plenty of cakes and wondering, "How much?" I found Laura's Bakery. She, ironically, lived only minutes from me and her cakes were delicious. I kept coming back to her stand at the wedding show to "re-taste" her cake. We had an almond poundcake with buttercream icing. My opinion, a cake may look unbelievable, but it also has to taste unbelievable. I had guests wanting seconds of my cake, unfortunetly we ran out of cake, the only leftovers was the top of the cake which we saved. Her cake and the price we paid per person was a steal compared to others I had researched. I have recommended her to several of my friends and they all agree her cake is delicious.
