OMG cakes to die for! Did I mention our cake tasting appointment?! Talk about over 10 different cake options we sampled with complimentary coffee/latte, and water...I was in heaven! The cakes are really yummy and everyone at our wedding raved about how good our cake was. Check them out!

I LOVE Le Gateau Elegant!! We got our wedding cake for our 4/30/11 wedding at Heather Farms from here. I'm so glad we discovered them from our Reception's preferred list. We had gone tasting at a few other bakeries in Walnut Creek and were so disappointed by the boring flavors and ridiculously high costs. We never would have thought to look at a little bakery in downtown Martinez, but I'm so glad we did! I took a friend to the tasting, and we probably tried 25 complex, gourmet flavors, all of which were amazing. I would have been happy with any of them. We went with Swedish Princess Cake for the largest portion, which was by far my favorite, and it seems like is one of their most popular. For our other two flavors, we went with Frangelico Truffle and Lemon Cointreau, both of which were delicious. Karen did a beautiful job on our cake, and it was exactly like we envisioned. I think their price is very fair compared to other cake vendors, and the quality surpasses most cakes that I have tried.

Highly recommend them! Our wedding cake was sooo beautiful and delicious. Cake tasting was great. So many great flavors to pick from and different designs to chose.

The tasting here was great! They give you so many options to taste. They also gave us coffee which was great with the cake. We had a rather simple 3 tier cake with minimal designs, but still beautiful! We loved it as well as everyone who came. I had my own florist decorate the cake with fresh flowers. The cost was a bit expensive, but you really pay for what you want. The quality is beyond excelent! Everyone at the shop is so kind and just want to give you what you want!

The cake tasting is unbelievable. We were given at least 10 flavors as opposed to 3 or 4 flavors from other vendors we have tried. The cake is moist and tasty. They also did a great job on decorating the cake!

Our cake was delicious! And they were great about helping save money by suggesting having a sheet cake in the back to cut and serve rather than adding another tier to our cake! Great service and YUMMY!!!

Delicious, delicious, cake! Not only was our Le Gateau Elegant cake elegant indeed, it was delicious. I would use this vendor again without reservation!We had a near miss on the event time, so make sure you fill out their forms correctly as to exactly when the cake needs to be set up! They were very flexible in working with the florist and a special cake base I had made. I was disappointed only that we had maxed out our budget and couldn't afford the extra $1000 it would have cost to add an overall diamond pattern, but that seemed to be the way of many things associated with a wedding budget!

Our wedding cake turned out to be really beautiful, almost like a peice of art. We did a cake tasting prior to the wedding to figure out what flavor we wanted. Luckily we were able to choose several different flavors for our 3 tiers. The cake was so yummy, and our guests loved it. They used their own florist to decorate with fresh flowers. It was beautiful and so perfectly decorated. We were very happy with our choice of cake vendors. The only drawback of this great bakery is that the cakes are very costly. If my husbands grandma had not gifted us our cake, we couldl not have afforded it. If you have it in your budget, then by all means, you will not be disappointed.

Amazing cake. They had lots of unique and traditional options for style and flavors. Our cake was beautiful and it was very moist. They were able to do each tier a different flavor and were very willing to work with us. The only thing I can say is that it is a bit pricey however I don't regret my choice because it turned out great!

Our wedding cake was awesome! I honestly think it was the best tasting wedding cake I have ever had. Our cake tasting was a very positive experience and we were offered numerous different samples. We had a chocolate buttercream cake covered in ganache and the tiers had different flavors. They also decorated the cake with flowers we provided. The only downside was the cost, which is comparable to other high end bakeries, but it was totally worth the price. We got so many comments on how beautiful, tasty and moist the cake was!

Karen's cakes are absolutely delicious and beautiful. We had 3 tiers of tiramisu, chocolate rasberry and lemon contreau. All were fantastic and the cake was beautiful. My only problem with them was that they called me 3 hours before my wedding to tell me the florist had dropped off the flowers and they weren't sure what to do with them. That was the florist's error, as we had agreed she would place the flowers herself. Nonetheless, it is a major faux-pas to call a bride on her wedding day. They should've called my coordinator. In the end, however, the cake arrived on time and was decorated beautifully (see photos) and tasted absolutely amazing.

Both beautiful and delicious! Karen is very helpful and willing to do just about anything. Also, the prices are not too bad for the quality! I highly recommend this vendor.

I had already ordered a cake from another bakery but when my fiance' and I were walking around after getting our wedding license I saw a cake in the window that I had to have!! Tyler tried to take a picture with his camera phone so I could get the cake approved by the accountant (my mother) so I could change bakeries. One of the people working there came out and yelled at us! We tried to explain but they would not listen. I made an appointment the next day. My mom and I got lost in Oakland on our way to the bakery and tried to get a later appointment time but they would not give us a later appointment. Luckily we made it on time. We tasted the cakes and they were FABULOUS!! We got a chocolate mocha cake. She was also able to help us make sure that our cake topper would not fall off and was able to deliver the cake. The cake was gorgeous but was 1/2 the size I could have had for a lot more money. But I think it was worth it.

If you have a budget but want a beautiful cake, this is a the perfect bakery. There were so many great options of flavors when we went for testing. The biggest problems came on the wedding day. The Chocolate cake was missing one of its layers of filling. And... they didnt put the flower petals (that the florist left for them on the cake table) on the cake when they brought it in. So my cake was very plain and boring looking, and I was less than impressed. Luckily my best friend caught the mistake before everyone went into the reception hall. Pricing was excellent and we were able to get a large cake for a third of what the other bakeries wanted. That was really great.

Our wedding cake was beautiful! I had found a picture of the cake I wanted in a magazine, and was hopeful that someone would be able to recreat this treasure. Ours was a "Mad Hatter" cake, with the two layers being slightly off kilter and uneven. Our cake was pink, purple, yellow, green and various other colors. The bakery was willing to work with us for chocolate on the top layer and vanilla on the bottom. We were able to go and have a cake tasting, which was impressive. She brought out about 20 slices of cake, and it was enough to get a good taste of each cake and filling. A wonderful bakery and worth the money.The cake was moist and delicious. Not dried out like many other wedding cakes I have tasted. They delievered the cake to the Hilton, set it up and made sure it was what we wanted. Just remember to return the columns inside the cake or you will be charged!
