The Liberty House gave me the best day of my life. The room is beautiful and elegant. No other room can compete with the view. They set up all of my flowers and decorations beautifully. I've been to other weddings there and they personalize the room for each couple. Danielle and Diane did anything and everything they could to make the reception beautiful, enjoyable, and delicious. Many of my guests told me it was "the best wedding I've ever been to."

Breath taking views of NYC skyline, beautiful garden ceremony, tented room cocktail hour, patio with fire pits, gorgeous reception room...what else could you ask for? The Liberty House is a perfect place for a wedding! The food was absolutely amazing! There was so much to choose from, and each was better then the last. The staff was helpful throughout the entire planning, and the night of. I would definitely recommend the Liberty House as a venue!!

Couldn't be happier that we chose the Liberty House for our reception venue. The atmosphere and food were both excellent--and ALL of our guests agreed! Our wedding coordinator, Danielle, was SO helpful and wonderful to work with. The staff from bridal attendant, to maitre d', to waiters/waitresses, to bathroom attendants were very professional and friendly. I would highly recommend this venue!!

The Liberty House was the site of our perfect Thanksgiving weekend wedding. Our family and friends were blown away at absolutely everything: the views, the gardens, the cocktail room, the reception space, and the food. Danielle was an AMAZING help for the year we planned our wedding and was always quick to respond to our many requests and the evening went off without a hitch. The staff at the Liberty House were phenomenal and worked so hard to make sure we were comfortable, fed, and filled with liquor! The space was beautiful and I can't wait to return year after year to have an anniversary dinner at their restaurant.

Our wedding was at the Liberty House Restaurant the week before Sandy roared into town. We were treated like royalty by the staff. My guests were pleased with the food, service and attention to details. I was told over and over again that the whole experience was fabulous. I couldn't agree more and look forward to having future events like our anniversary held there as well.
GUEST

This was Place awful. Service was horrendous. They over book my wedding. Didn't even apologize for having my guest wait two hrs. For our wedding to start. When it. Did begin they rush US in and out like it was our fault. Must have been the previous guest paid big bucks while I drop my life saving on them. Well just to let everyone know. My perfect day was ruin. They treated us like shit.

We had our wedding at the Liberty House this past Sunday and could not get over how amazing it was. We always knew the place was beautiful, but it was even better than we could have anticipated. All the staff was amazing especially my bridal assistant. From the moment we arrived to the time I left, she was always there making sure my groom and I had everything we needed. The food was outstanding and the view was out of this world. The day was perfect and I am so happy we chose to have it at the Liberty House! I'm just sad it's over because we had such an amazing time.

Liberty House is a beautiful venue through and through. The view of the NYC skyline is breathtaking. The grounds and big ballroom are very well kept and have a unique style. Elegant, but casual at the same time. Danielle was our contact and she was excellent! I truly felt like she was there for me and would help with anything that she could. She was easy to work with and seemed genuinely enthusiastic about our day (even though I am sure she has done hundreds of weddings!) We lucked out and a patron at the restaurant bought fireworks on the evening of our wedding. So we had an added treat to share with our guests. Amazing. The food was really good. We had several compliments on the quality and variety. You definitely get what you pay for. Our day was perfect and Liberty House was a huge part of making that happen.
GUEST

The absolute most beautiful venue anyone could ask for. We could not have had our wedding anywhere better. Great outdoor as well as indoor space. A park like setting with city views... simply PERFECT!
GUEST

From the moment we saw The Liberty House's "Room with a View" we knew it was "the one." The NYC skyline and the gorgeous design of the room gave our wedding the fun and unique feel we were looking for! The skyline, monument, train station, and the rest of the grounds also offered a plethora of different backgrounds for photography opportunities. From the beginning, Danielle was wonderful in helping us set the detail, from the room decor to the food, to enhance the atmosphere we were hoping to achieve. Our guests really enjoyed the fun twist on wedding food at the American Classics station that served sliders, fries, mac and cheese, and fried chicken! We only wish we were able to enjoy more of the delicious foods ourselves! Thank you to everyone at the Liberty House for making our day/night shine!
GUEST

Our wedding at the Liberty House was amazing! Danielle is the best and she was so helpful and accommodating right up until the last minute! Our guests had nothing but good things to say, the food was delicious, the view is unbeatable and the staff went above and beyond. It can be a bit pricey, but was worth every penny!

My husband and I knew we wanted to get married here before we were engaged. We live in the neighborhood and the surrounding park has sentimental value to us.
We didn't know if we were able to afford it, but the Liberty House worked with us and we were able to figure out how to make it work.
The venue and view of Manhattan is beautiful, you just can't beat it. The service was amazing, everything was EXACTLY as I wanted it. We had several meetings to go over details and nothing was left undone. Our contact there was a little scatterbrained sometimes & wasn't as on point as she should of been, but the day of made up for it.
Everybody also keeps commenting on the food- because it's is OUT OF THIS WORLD. I was worried that food that tastes so good at a tasting or at the restaurant couldn't possibly be as good for the wedding, but it was!
THANK YOU Liberty House for hosting the wedding of our...

The Liberty House in Jersey City was fabulous in so many ways, I can not recommend them enough! The food was phenomenal, and the views are breathtaking! There is no better NYC view! Our coordinator, Terra, was so attentive, and responsive, and helped us in so many ways. Our guests could not stop talking about the quality of food, and service. The day of the wedding we had a server, Marlene, who took care of us all night long, boxing up food and cake for us to enjoy afterward, making sure we had wine and appetizers, and even helping to carry down gifts from the bridal suite. Our favorites from the cocktail hour were the American Classics table (mini sliders, mac n cheese, fried chicken, and fries), the fried calamari, and pasta with Alfredo sauce. The ham and turkey carving stations were also amazing. For our main entrees we went with a choice of filet mignon, and Chilean sea bass, both of which were amazing. I can not say one bad thing! It was a night I will always remember fondly, largely in part of the Liberty House and staff.

We had our reception at the Liberty House in the Liberty Room and it was great! Danielle took care of everything. We did not have a wedding planner and she assisted us with deciding on the set-up of the room, picking the selections for the cocktail hour and organizing the flow of the reception. She even bustled my dress for me because she did not like the way it was done and she was right. After she bustled it, I was able to walk around and dance!
I didn't think it was necessary to have a personal attendant; but, during the reception, our "personal attendant" Natalia was great! She anticipated and catered to all of our needs.
The food at the Liberty House (LH) was great! Our guests loved that they were able to make their dinner selection when they sat down and the LH was very accomodating to their specific requests/dietiary needs! Also, everyone was surprised that the food (cocktail hour and dinner) was so good because they did not expect good food at a wedding. LH surpassed all of our expectations!!
LH's service and food were just as great as their NYC skyline views.
GUEST

The experience was great ....the scenery was beautiful!! The waterfront view and the lovely view of the city and the food was spectacular!!!
GUEST

The place is just beautiful, but the staff really make it exceptional. They are there to help every step of the way. Daniel was our consultant? banquet manager? and she covered every detail and was able to plan ahead for possible issues that might come up. Oh, and she's sweet and smart and gets back to you right away. The food exceeded our expectations. We are foodies and thought "Well, it'll be good for wedding food" We were wrong. It was great for restaurant food. Really the best wedding food I've had. And the presentations were amazing and there was just so much. It's not a traditional ballroom, and it's not cheap but it was worth every penny. It was an incredible night!

What a wonderful wedding day we had!! The view the view the view!!
All of my out of town guests were so impressed and I will never forget that day. I wish I could go back and relive my wedding but Thanks to the memories I...

If you’re looking for a place to have an amazing wedding with beautiful views of NY city then you need to book the Liberty House. When my wife and I were looking for a venue, we were first reluctant to take a look at the liberty house, assuming that it was way out of our budget. We saw two other places prior to, which were more expensive and did not allow your guests the ability to enjoy the beautiful surroundings (Chart House would not allow us access to the deck). Our event specialist Mara went above and beyond our expectations. As stated earlier, we were on a budget, and she found ways to meet our demands while staying remotely within what we wanted to spend. Their staff was very accommodating, allowing us to have outside vendors for a photo booth and ice-cream bar; as well as took care of our bridal party. Our personal bridal assistant was amazing, making sure we always had drinks in our hands. At the end of the night she had take home bags with food and helped all our inebriated family members were taken care of and that nothing was left behind.
Thank you Liberty House for making our day even more memorable!

The minute we saw the Liberty House, we fell in love with it! It's hard not to with the incredible views of downtown Manhattan. The setting, the food, decor, and grounds are all astounding. I have to echo another's comment on responsiveness. Often, it did take a few emails or an eventual phone call to get a response. But they definitely pulled thru in the end and we couldn't be happier. Everyone is still talking about our wedding and most said they'd like to return just to have dinner there! Beautiful, beautiful venue!!
GUEST

This venue is fantastic - the food is great and the view is unbelievable. We got nothing but compliments from the guests.
The day of the wedding I received tons of personal attention and there was someone always around to get me and the groom anything we needed.
The one "issue" for me was responsiveness. Often it took 3-4 emails to get answers while I was planning the wedding, which was a bit frustrating. They definitely pulled through in the end though!
GUEST

So, tried to plan a wedding here and could not get a straight answer. From different dates available to fluctuating prices for the event, we were treated like we did not matter at all. For someone wanting to spend 20,000 and up you would expect an answer to your first 2 or 3 emails. This place is a wedding factory and they think they are hot shit, so unless you have 200+ people attending and you are throwing $$ in there face you might as well forget it. By the way... the decor inside is AWFUL!
GUEST

We were married at the Liberty House at the end of April. Danielle was so helpful in helping to make sure every detail of our cocktail style wedding was what we planned. The food was great and our guests loved the modern space, decor and skyline. The location the restaurant is in also serves as a great spot for photos.
GUEST

We had a great time at our February wedding. LOVE the food and view of NYC.
GUEST

We actually got married at the Stone House, in Warren, NJ but they're not listed here. I know the Liberty House and the Stone House are owned by the same company, Landmark Hospitality.
Anyway, we had several things go wrong for our wedding but everyone had a great time. I guess you can never do enough planning to make sure everyone does their job! We got married outside and they messed up the lighting, my bridal attendant was not helpful, and there were lines at the bar because they only had one bartender instead of the 2 that were promised. Just make sure you get everything in writing and put someone in charge of taking care of issues since you'll be too busy to take the time to do anything on your wedding day.
GUEST

We had an amazing wedding there on October 15, 2010. We had the downstairs rooms for cocktail & reception, a beautiful outdoor ceremony, and got to enjoy the whole outside (fire pits included!!) for lounging. The views were absolutely magnificent, the food was even better (our guests are still talking about it), & the staff was just awesome & professional. It was so easy planning my wedding there - I never had any moments of 'panic.' Danielle - the coordinator there - ROCKS!!
We wouldn't have chosen any other place to have our wedding.
GUEST

Danielle was great throughout the planning process & was willing to work with us on every detail of our day. All the small details that I had worked on were executed perfectly the day of- we dropped everything off a couple days in advance and I would not have set it up any differently if I had been there myself. The food was excellent & our guests loved the view as well as the fire pits! The bridal assistant that was assigned to me was always close by if I needed anything! Overall it was a wonderful day
GUEST

Danielle Villa from Liberty House was there every single step of the way to ensure we were going to have the most incredible day of our lives. She is creative and compassionate, and the event fully exceeded our expectations.
Friends and family have NOT stopped raving about our wedding.
GUEST

Terra and the staff at the Liberty House went above and beyond every expectation I had. My ceremony and reception were held at the Liberty House and I could not have asked for a more unique and elegant backdrop for our celebration. The food and service was incredible-- I have not one complaint, nor did my guests have any complaints to report.
GUEST

The Liberty House is an amazing venue! We had our ceremony in NYC at the St. Patrick's Old Cathedral. After the ceremony, most of our guests arrived at the Liberty House via the Liberty State water taxi (which was a breathtaking experience)When the guests arrived, every single one commented on how spectacular it was to have the NYC skyline as our backdrop.
The Liberty House is such a great value with a great location and amazing staff! All the guests raved about the quality and quantity of food at the cocktail hour and the reception! When you book at the Liberty House, part of the package is a cake from the Cake Boss himself! Our cake looked beautiful and tasted delicious!
I highly recommend having your wedding at the Liberty House. Venues in NYC don't compare...too expensive and too small! The Liberty House is so close to NYC and how can you beat having the NYC skyline in your wedding photos!
GUEST

Loved The Liberty House. We had our engagement cocktail party here also, and an small wedding, and it was wonderful. beautiful view, yummy food , and attentive staff! So happy with them.
GUEST

The venue did nothing but add to the happiest day of our lives. It was everything I ever dreamed my wedding to be, from the view the food and service. Our banquet manager, Terra was nothing but helpful. A year and half later people still rave about our wedding. And with every compliment I cannot help, but smile. And for this I am not only thankful to my husband, my parents, our friends and family, but the Liberty House for providing a beautiful setting.
GUEST

We had our ceremony, cocktail hour & reception at the Liberty House. We worked with Danielle and things could not have been better. The service was amazing right from the start and not a single detail was left out. Our guests are still talking about the food & the view!
GUEST

We had our wedding at Liberty House in October 2009. We live in the area and were very familiar with their impeccable views of the city and great food. So when it came time to plan our wedding, Liberty House was our first choice.
We worked with banquet manager, Terra Hudson. Terra is lovely. She is friendly, very accessible and on top of things at all times. She made the process easy and so enjoyable. I could not have been happier with her service. She is a joy to work with.
We had originally planned to have our wedding on the patio right outside where our reception was taking place. Due to cold weather we had to move it inside. So the ceremony was where the cocktail hour would be. I was nervous about the change over once the wedding ended. Terra told me not to worry. I was so impressed with the army of people Terra brought in to execute a swift change from ceremony to cocktail hour. Even the guests were impressed! It was seamless!
Of course, one of the highlights of the evening was the food. People are still talking about it! It was delicious! The array of selections to choose from for the cocktail hour and dinner are so creative. There is truly something for everyone and the quality is superb.
One of the greatest reasons to have your wedding at Liberty House is the view. It is breathtaking. The city skyline makes for a gorgeous backdrop as your guests celebrate into the night and it makes for amazing wedding pictures!
I highly recommend Liberty House, and especially Terra Hudson, to make your wedding a day a success!
GUEST

Liberty House was the perfect place for our wedding. It had both an outdoor space and an unparalled view of Manhattan. Danielle Villa at Liberty House was a joy to work with. She was very responsive to all my requests and questions and made the process very easy and enjoyable. We love to go back for dinner and remember our wonderful day!
GUEST

We worked with Danielle Villa & had the ceremony in the big tent (because it rained), the cocktail hour in the downstairs room/smaller tent, and the reception upstairs. Our wedding was a bit tricky because they had never done a sit down brunch wedding (for 290 people nonetheless!). We had a cocktail hour with breakfast style foods followed by a 4 course sit down brunch and 2 large antipasti buffet tables for guests to help themselves if they wanted more of a lunch. Everyone raved about the food. My only complaint was that it took too long for the food to come out. We had a fruit salad preset on the table & the courses following the pre-set took way too long. This was something that they had never done before (and it was a big party) so that may be the reason. All in all, everyone eventually got their food and was very happy with it. Danielle is great to work with, but a strong personality. She will do whatever she can to make it work even though it took a little pushing on our part. She pulled it off & I was very happy with her. We didn't necessarily trust her on some aspects, but in the end she was right all along!
GUEST

We had a wonderful planning process with the Liberty House. From start to finish everything was excellent, from the food to service to the view! I would highly recommend this venue for any bride looking for a fairytale wedding.
GUEST

I haven't stopped hearing from everyone about how beautiful and amazing the venue was. Can you really beat getting married with the New York skyline in the background on a beautiful clear sunny day!? Everything was well organized and ran fairly smoothly. We had a buffet dinner, so the food did run out at one point, but the guests were fed and the food was tasty, although it was better at the individual tasting, but that is expected. Most of the guests spent the wedding either on the dance floor or outside on the terrace, where a bar and cocktail tables were arranged, the whole thing was open since the space has big french doors to the outside. It was perfect!

Exactly what the X stands for - Disaster would not recommend! Overall there lack of attention and ineptitude is the reason for this bad review. They deserve the poor reputation!
Horrible, no attention to detail, unorganized, poor presentation. They never gave me and my guests proper direction. The person in charge of my wedding did not follow any of my requests, she was rude to my parents and when I questioned her about details that were not done she gave obnoxious replies. They omitted so many things discussed time and time again and that were part of the contract. I blame top level management and owner for all this nonsense that occurred because employees not doing a good job usually trickles from the top.
They also overbooked an event before mine and didn't give my vendors, especially florist enough time to set up. They all worked on top of one another and the Liberty house created a hectic set up and start to my wedding. Guests walked in and weren't guided properly so they didn't know were to go and crews were still in the middle of set up and break down from previous event.
No attention to detail -they left milk crates visible, tables and object that didn't belong,etc.. poor and sloppy ceremony set up. Not enough chairs for ceremony that half of my guest were standing. Not to mention I have to pay extra for photography editing.
So many things I that I would need to write 5 pages.
Thank goodness the other vendors pulled the wedding together because they were exceptional. The only thing Liberty house has going for them is pretty good food and a beautiful view but this is not worth the money for the nonsense we dealt with. I don't believe the other reviews someone that works for them had to write and give them the 4 stars-not worth a penny! Don't use this place for your wedding!
GUEST

Excellent view of NYC.
GUEST

The venue is in an absolutely gorgeous setting on the waterfront of Jersey City overlooking the NYC skyline. People loved the view and took many photos from the outside balcony. Everything was beautiful from the tablecloths to the candles to the scenery. It is very expensive so prepare for that in the budget. But, we looked at cheaper venues and this was the most beautiful place for a wedding.
GUEST

The food was excellent and their service was incredible. They were worth every penny and the views from the room were breathtaking.
GUEST

I loved Liberty House! The place is amazing, the food is amazing. It was all about the view for us. They were a slight bit disorganized when it came to the ceremony but everything else was flawless. You can't go wrong with this vendor.
GUEST

Liberty House is beautiful - we couldn't have had a more amazing place/ setting/ view for our wedding. The ballroom upstairs is gorgeous - they filled the windows with tealights which made it that much more beautiful. The food was good - but hardly enough for the price you pay to have a wedding there! Not too flexible with the menu options, but overall nothing but compliments from all of our guests.
