Lindley Scott House

We just recently had our wedding ceremony and reception here and Diane, George and Leo are a pleasure to work with. It really is a one stop shop for everything! They provided our wedding cake which was delicious! They do provide their one on-site coordinator, but if you plan on hiring a wedding planner, make sure that they are in constant communication. They are a little strict about their property since it is privately own, but overall the food was great, the flow of the wedding day went well. It is a great value.

I had my wedding and reception at the Lindley Scott House 9/10/10 and had an AMAZING wedding! We had our ceremony at the gazebo and our reception in the carriage house. Diane was my main contact person for the venue. I called her probably a million times and she was always so sweet and funny and never annoyed at me at all. She worked hard to make sure I was stress-free in the lead-up to my day. She was always there to help with anything I needed. I had my own wedding coordinator (Carpe Diem events) who worked with Leo during the rehearsal and wedding. Together, they made sure I had nothing to worry about on my wedding day. The keyboardist can play any song, or at least can learn it in a week. The food was absolutely delicious, so much better than any other venue I've been to. The meal is served by uniformed servers, which makes the reception pretty classy. The entire grounds are well-maintained and made for great pictures. Overall, this is a fantastic venue; I have no complaints. It is very affordable and you get a lot for your money.

the Lindley-Scott House is where did our reception (but not wedding ceremony). It was beautiful and well set up. The tables didn't seem to be too crouded with 10 people at them. The food was FANTASTIC! I think all of our guests had a good time and enjoyed the beautiful venue. Taking pictures there was easy with the pretty scenery.

The place was not that as beautiful as i hoped. i was not able to get the ceremony at the spot i wanted.

We got married at the Lindley Scott House on June 26 and everything was perfect! The Lindley Scott House was the first place we ever looked at, and after looking at a million other places that were both more and less expensive, we decide to book about a year and a half out from our wedding. Diane was always super nice and even threw in some cocktail tables and a candy table for free. Over the course of the year I spoke to Diane several times about TONS of details (renting chiavari chairs, placing the gift table outside, etc.) and she kept track of everything perfectly. I was a little concerned in the beginning based on some reviews I had read but in the end, she was very on top of things.

The day of the wedding, the venue was great. Leo, the venue coordinator worked with my coordinator to make sure everything ran smoothly. Dinner was ready a little early too, which was perfect since we were a few minutes ahead of schedule. We received so many compliments about the food (steak & chicken with rosemary potatoes) and the guests definitely loved the open bar even though they only served beer, wine and ku (a lower proof vodka & tequila). My guests also liked the way that each table is served at once, which I totally didn't even notice!

My only complaints were that the main house doesn't have air conditioning and it was HOT in there which wasn't so good for a bride waiting to walk down the aisle, and that the reception has to end at 10pm, but I found that was actually common at a lot of venues.

Other than that, I couldn't be happier with my experience at the Lindley-Scott House!

I was just married at the Lindley Scott House on 6/5/10. The grounds were amazing which make for great photos!!! The food was amazing and the cake was included! We served filet, salmon or chicken and guests are still complimenting on how fabulous the food was. Diane is a little eccentric but she really only handles the money aspect. Leo is the provided coordinator. Leo was nice but he only coordinates for the venue (food/servers/bar). I would highly recommend getting a day of coordinator for yourself!! The only thing that I would have preferred is that the venue didn't make you end at 10pm. I guess there's a noise ordinance in Azusa.

What a gorgeous place to get married. Things went quite smoothly and every one had a great time. Diane P was the lady in charge of the money but on the wedding day, Leo the wedding coordinator is a laid back guy who gets the job done. He kept my parents up to day on the alcohol tab (since it was open bar) and kept his cool during the whole ceremony.The food there was fantastic. We had the chicken and steak with asparagus and mashed potatoes. People raved about the food.The alcohol had a great beer selection at $5 each and although they don't have a full liquor license beer and wine was fine for every one.The gardens are gorgeous. We got married underneath 2 huge trees. It was great! The reception was a short walk away in their built banquet hall that has a dance floor and air conditioning.The only down side is the fact that parking is stacked or people park in the street but it ended up not being a problem. I loved this venue and hope you will too!

Awesome and beautiful place... I had my dream wedding here and I loved it! The only downsides were that there is no air conditioning in the house (where the bride gets dressed and stays before the ceremony), which is unbearable in the summer time; also, the day of coordinator, who was great, is not involved in the pre-planning wedding stuff. So, hire a day of wedding coordinator for set up and things like that. Otherwise, everything else was perfect!!!

I had my dream wedding and Diane at the Lindley-Scott House was wonderful. The venue is beautiful, the staff was great!! Diane made every request we had possible. The food was awesome. Our corrdinator Leo was great to work with!!! I highly recommend the location.

This place is a class act! Every detail was as or better than promised when the wedding day arrived. Diane (a true angel) and George did everything they could to accomodate our requests. The facility and staff were absolutely excellent in every way. Our wedding co-ordinator was Alex who really knew his stuff. On the morning of the event, he reviewed a small list of details which made it clear he understood exactly what we wanted down to the smallest thing. I was impressed that although they have done this many times before and assure you that everything will be handled correctly, there is NO assembly line attitude to be found. On the big day, it seemed to us that the Lindley-Scott staff had been involved in our planning from the first day, knew us well and acted as though they were OUR staff!!
The meal was wonderful. We chose Filet Mignon. The presentation was beautiful, the portions large and the service was perfect. They drop each table top all at once as though you are dining in the finest restaurant; eight servers exit the kitchen each with a plate in hand, they circle the table, pause and in unison set a plate in front of all the guests at that table. The entire room is served in this manner and very quickly so no food is cold and all the guests commented on how lovely the presentation was done. The servers are young yet very mature, polite and professional!!!!!
The Lindley-Scott House allowed us to really enjoy all that had gone in to planning our daughter's perfect day!

BEST RECEPTION EVER! That was our thought and all of our guests reviews. Very professional, answered tons of questions, absolutely stunning grounds, very well manicured gardens. Food was amazing, staff was phenominal and we all had the time of our lives! We highly recommend the Lindley-Scott House!

Overall, I highly recommend the Lindley Scott house for your reception venue (we did not have our ceremony there but I hear good things). The food was wonderful! They don't normally do tastings so we didn't try the food until that day and it was great. Our guests definitely talked about how good it was. The cake they provide through a local bakery is wonderful too and looked very pretty. The grounds are beautiful and it is great that you have the whole place to yourself instead of sharing it with other brides. I thought the day of coordinator was going to be more involved in keeping the reception events themselves on time, but he had more to do with just making sure the food, drink and cake service was prompt...which was fine. They don't allow any candles but it was beautiful without...they dim the lights and have white lights on the trees outside. Overall, I loved the place and fell more in love with it the day of!

My husband and I booked this venue 1 1/2 years before our wedding date. We fell in love with it as soon as we saw it. Diane was great leading up to the wedding and anytime I had interaction with her - it was great. The only down-side was that she does not have email - which made it a bit difficult since I had to call her for everything.

My wedding day was great - the food was good (not the best, but good) and the ceremony location was also nice. I was a little disappointed with the lawn - there were areas of the ceremony location where grass was missing and it wreaked havoc on my dress since it had rained that morning.

I also didn't get access to the bridal suite like I was promised. I wanted to take pictures on the day-of inside the house, but I didn't get that.

I have to give it 5 stars because I got married there and it was the best day of my life right? just kidding...it was actually VERY beautiful. It may look a little old, but the carriage house is new and once the ceremony area and carriage house is set up, it is BEAUTIFUL (if you have the right florist too!) It really turned out exquisite.

The grounds themselves are SO beautiful. Our pictures came out lovely and the ceremony was perfect. I was surprised at how much cooler the big trees made the area on a nice summer AUGUST day! Lol. But it was gorgeous.

The staff was another story. I had hoped that some of the things I saw happening would resolve themselves after I mentioned things, but they didn't.

The owner is REALLY nice and as a person is very plesant, but she changed her story around so many times it was hard to figure out what we were actually getting after all the "yes" answers she gave to get us when we signed the contract.

-The alcohol situation originally had been that we could buy and bring our own beer and wine (no hard stuff, which was fine but there were 3 of us that heard this agreement, so I don't see how all 3 of us could "misunderstand") Instead it was charged by glass and we had to put a certain amount down (which would have been ok I think if we had heard it upfront, but we may have chosen someone else because it was like 4-5 bucks a glass.)

-Then when we agreed on a tasting, she failed to mention that it would be DURING someone elses wedding when I asked what would go on and we show up in beach clothes- (we didn't even do it, I wasnt about to crash someone elses day looking like a hobo- that'd make a nice pic for them, huh?) I just thought that was unprofessional to not prepare us and especially since we drove 2 hours (with the price of gas through the roof) from San Diego to do it- FI was furious

-On the day of the rehearsal and the wedding, she was nowhere to be found and never told us that she wouldn't be there at all. We don't like being handled the whole way and then being passed off on someone else when it counts. The coordinator for the day was nice, but he was MIA most of the wedding- the last time I saw him was when he asked me who I was going to have take the rest of our stuff out of the bridal room.

-After being told over and over that we HAD to stick to their schedule we planned things for the day down to the minute because they were adamant about that. Our timing went flawlessly. (ceremony AT 4:30 done AT 5, seated for dinner AT 6:30, which DH and I hi-fived eachother on)...The entree was an hour late -we ended up waiting so long that we had to squish the events together (dances, cake garter/toss) and bearly had time to talk to any of our guests, some of whom had to leave early for work the next day. I also didn't get to take a group picture with my aunts and uncles who I am really close with durning the cocktail hour as planned because we were worried about being late to the 6:30 sit down- We had planned it all out and allowed for time to take whatever pictures weren't done at the cocktail hour after dinner instead. It didn't happen because the venue was SO over time- missed memory there.

-The cake which was SO wrong I was furious at their "recommended" bakery- I drew a picture and met with her 3 times just to find out AFTER that she doesn't work Sundays and her apprentice got MY cake. Thank God our floral designer saved it as best she could. No "coordinator" was around when we cut it anyway and we didnt know what we were doing, so we had to ask the photographer for help. and AFTER that, it took forever for the staff to serve it. We, the bride & the groom, and 3 of our families tables didnt even get served any cake! But we had 4 boxes of cake to take home, so we know there were plenty of pieces left!

-Lastly, we had planned to have our BM's and GM's help take home the items we brought since the venue said they "would not be responsible for the break down other than tables and chairs" but they started tearing things apart right when I was getting people together and they were so careless they just dropped my GLASS bowls, with the rocks and all, into a box. Now I have 5 bowls that are broken. I know they are just a bunch of high school kids at work, but come on, these are my things that Ive paid for- why are they not being supervised by the COORDINATOR?

Basically both DH and I agree that the rest of our vendors and their help in our detailed planning were resposible for the good turnout of the wedding overall- The fact that the tables/chairs/dinnerware & cake were included in the price to me does not excuse poor customer service or constantly changing "contract." If I treated my customers that way I'd get fired. The staff was not up to par at all in our opinion and I was really disappointed in that after the amount of money we spent.

if i could have a wedding every year, i would have it here. i highly recommend this venue! my guests are still talking about how gorgeous the house was and how wonderful the food was. one of my guests specifically stated that she had not had better food at a wedding!

I was there for my friend's sister's wedding and I thought the place was lovely. The building looks like its from the 1920's (which i love) and the wait staff is dressed to match the period. After the ceremony Hors d'oeuvres were passed and yes they were delicious. As for dinner I can still taste the cream sauce that was on the chicken breast. My family had a great time and I only wish I knew about this venue when I was getting married 3 years ago.

FI and I went to visit the place with my parents today. We all fell in love with the place, and Dianne is a riot. Very friendly, helpful, and honest. We have booked the place and go back on Wednesday evening to sign the contract and leave a deposit. Woohoo! So excited!

Lindley Scott House is the BEST!

Diane, the owner is such a wonderful person. She treats you like her only child. She listerns to you, tries her best to help you and make you feel so comfortable and confident with her and her work! I'm so grateful that I have the chance to know her!

Also, LSH is such a beautiful place for brides who want ourdoor garden wedding. They provide package service. It includes most of the service you need for your ceremony and reception. LSH just makes wedding so simple and easy for you!

I had my wedding there on May 18, 2008. It was a hot hot hot day. We did not know that they provided iced water everywhere. They are just so considerate!

I strongly suggest LSH and Diane. Give her a call and give a visit, you won't be disappointed!

The Lindley Scott House is a beautiful place to have your wedding. It's a restored mansion located in the foothills of Azusa. The grounds are impeccable with tall trees and rose gardens all around. The wedding planner, Diane Pieper, is a very sweet lady who really treats you like you are part of her family. After we booked the venue, she hand wrote me several notes saying that my wedding would be great and that she looked forward to helping me with anything I might need. The cost is also phenomenal. My finace and I had been looking at places that required a minumum amount of $20,000 or you had to guarantee so many of the hotel's rooms would be booked or you had to have a minumum amount of 200 people. We dont have that much family out here so those were hard orders to fill. Our ceremony and reception, which included our officiant and our cake was less than $10,000 for 100 people. We had a cocktail hour with a crudite table and our dinner was salmon and a filet with vegetables and bread. There were no other places we found that would serve filet mignon and salmon for the price they did. And the food was so good! We had so many compliments on the food and the venue itself. If I had to point out any drawbacks, the only one I could say is that they dont have air conditioning in the house. So when the bride is getting ready and its July, its very VERY hot. Almost miserable. I had to have my bridesmaids fanning me the entire time so my makeup wouldnt run. They have fans but all they do is push around the hot air.

Very affordable and GORGEOUS! You must visit the grounds! The pictures do not do it justice! The head lady is a riot and wants to take of you in every way.

I LOVED this place!! GORGEOUS!! GOREGOUS!!! GORGEOUS!! It was beautiful, affordable & I loved how we got the entire venue to ourselves!! The food was GREAT. Everyone liked it and a few commented on how they were impressed that the food came out hot & fresh. The timing of the food service went beautifully. They did everything that I had asked of them. Now I would give them an A+ but there was only one thing that had gone wrong. It wasn't a big deal at all so do not panic. It was fixed immediately. But I want to share it with so you can make sure this doesn't happen to you. We were to arrive at The LSH @ 2:30pm and the ceremony starts @ 4:00pm. At the rehearsal the DOC, Leo, had stated that we were to arrive at 3:30. I told him no, we paid extra $$ to come early to take pictures before hand. Now my mistake was that I didn't then confirm he had the start time correct and I should have!! All along I had talked to Diane & she knew all the info but I guess it didn't get communicated correctly. It was 4:05pm on the wedding day when it was brought to my attention that he thought it started at 4:30pm (and he was no where in my sight at that time)!! My florist (who is an angel!!) immediately found him and told him. He immediately started the ceremony. My suggestion is to have a meeting with Leo prior to the Rehearsal to ensure that he has all the correct info. I'd rather of had him 100% up to date prior to the rehearsal than having to go over everything with him then with the possibilty of forgetting something. Other than that The LSH is wonderful! I would recommend it to anyone!!! If you are having your wedding there it is going to be gorgeous!!
