Lindsay Docherty Photography

I wanted Lindsay to be my wedding photographer even before I got engaged... even before I met my now-husband! I had seen her blog, and thought her photos were magical. Our engagement pictures were wonderful, and I can't wait to see our wedding photos! (The teaser she posted the day after our wedding was aMAzing). Lindsay and her second shooter flitted around on our wedding day, capturing every moment (I hope!). Yes, she is expensive, but she is really on par with other great Philadelphia wedding photographers. I really believe you get what you pay for, especially when it comes to documenting this special day.

I would highly recommend using Lindsay as your wedding photographer!! We found out a few months before our wedding that our photographer could no longer shoot our wedding and went into full out panic mode. Luckily, we found Lindsay and by some miracle she had our date available. We felt completely at ease with Lindsay. She is a super talented photographer and we absolutely love our wedding photos- the best part is that she really captures every moment of the big day. The photos during our ceremony are my absolute favorite- every emotion we were feeling was captured and it is so special. Plus, she is a great person and so wonderful to deal with on your wedding day! Heck, she even helped pin my bustle when it kept falling off all night! Also, highly recommend getting her photo booth. The pictures are freaking hilarious and the guests really loved it!

Expensive, so-so pictures, and a contract that was deceptively written. That about sums up my experience with Lindsay Docherty. I'm not sure why she gets such rave reviews, but she was the one black spot on our otherwise very happy day.

When we originally asked her prices she said that for 7 hours of photography with a DVD of our photos and a proofbook (and some other things like a $500 print credit) would be $3925. When we told her that was a little steep for our budget she said she could make us a package that was similar for 6 hours for $3425. We thought that was great and signed the contract.

We did make a mistake not noting in the contract that the DVD was not included, but fine, we expected that the extra hour must have counted for something in the difference in price (for example,maybe a hundred dollars) and the DVD must have been (around 500-100) 400 dollars.

After the ceremony, she said that for us to get the DVD it would cost us $1199! That means, had we paid for the original 7 hour package we would have had everything including the DVD for $3925.

Instead, we paid $3425 for one hour less of photography, and then were asked for a total of $4624 to have the DVD! In essence, we had to pay 35% more than our contract and 18% more than the original expensive contract.

When we explained the situation and that common sense should dictate that we really should pay the difference minus the cost for that one extra hour that we didn't pay for, she said nope! the cost was $1199.

Unlike most other wedding photographers in the Philadelphia area, where you are often given a DVD of the digital prints of your photos and the digital rights to them. She told us that she would just destroy(!) all our wedding pictures after a year.

So in essence, she held our photos hostage, and threatened to destroy them after a year.

Think twice (actually probably way more than twice) before hiring her.

I could not be happier with our wedding pictures! we get so many compliments over how beautiful they are. She really is the best!

put a lot of effort into finding a photographer for our wedding since pictures last a lifetime, and I could not have been happier with her. Simply put, she is the best. I told her that I wished I could hire her to follow us around on our honeymoon in italy to take pictures because every picture she takes is beautiful.

Lindsay did a wonderful job capturing our wedding day. We absolutely love her and would recommend her to anyone. She is very professional and her pictures are breathtaking.

When we were planning our wedding, I knew that photography was important, but I had no idea that the photographer was just as important as the images they would create. You will probably spend more time with this person than any other vendor, and I am so glad we had the opportunity to get to know Lindsay.

She was able to capture our experience of the wedding, as well as, all the wonderful moments we missed. We now have all the beautiful photos of the ceremony, formals and first dance, but also a priceless record of all of our friends and family who attended. She was able to do this because not only could she magically "disappear" when needed (she must have teleported around the ceremony), but is also very intuitive and can capture people's personalities.

She was able to capture ours because we were incredibly comfortable around her. We got a vendor crush during the engagement session and liked her more and more.

Lindsay is also great because she takes the photos that you want. She doesn't push you to take photos that are posed and cheesy, but knows better than you might (or I did) that some of the photos you don't think are important she will secretly snap.

What more can I say? This woman is amazing.

I cannot say enough about this talented photographer. Her photos capture her client's true essence, and make for lasting memories.
If you are looking for someone that you can relate to; a photographer with energy and excitement... Lindsay is your girl! Lindsay loves her job, and it is obvious when looking at her work.
It is no suprise that I have contracted Lindsay Docherty for my own wedding photos next year.I cannot wait to see the photos!!
