put a lot of effort into finding a photographer for our wedding since pictures last a lifetime, and I could not have been happier with her. Simply put, she is the best. I told her that I wished I could hire her to follow us around on our honeymoon in italy to take pictures because every picture she takes is beautiful.

When we were planning our wedding, I knew that photography was important, but I had no idea that the photographer was just as important as the images they would create. You will probably spend more time with this person than any other vendor, and I am so glad we had the opportunity to get to know Lindsay.

She was able to capture our experience of the wedding, as well as, all the wonderful moments we missed. We now have all the beautiful photos of the ceremony, formals and first dance, but also a priceless record of all of our friends and family who attended. She was able to do this because not only could she magically "disappear" when needed (she must have teleported around the ceremony), but is also very intuitive and can capture people's personalities.

She was able to capture ours because we were incredibly comfortable around her. We got a vendor crush during the engagement session and liked her more and more.

Lindsay is also great because she takes the photos that you want. She doesn't push you to take photos that are posed and cheesy, but knows better than you might (or I did) that some of the photos you don't think are important she will secretly snap.

What more can I say? This woman is amazing.

About Lindsay Docherty Photography

I work unobtrusively in an illustrative style to catch all of the details and excitement of your wedding with as little prompting as possible. My pictures are a motley collection of fun and subtle, spontaneous and staged, vibrant and modest and, most importantly, authentic. In a mix of photojournalism and posed (considered 'illustrative'), I create images that display the best qualities of your wedding and allow you to completely be yourself. I do photograph formals since they can be a good record of your closest friends and family, but only those that you want.

I am friendly, professional, and patient and create a soothing element to the day. With a sense of humor and a truly positive attitude, I work with you to get exactly the photographic style and feeling that you want.

Chemistry is essential - we get to know our clients with a complimentary Engagement Session because it is so important to me that we connect before the big day. I love my couples and they're not just another set of names on my calendar. I cater my images to you and your personality.

Since rigid packages never truly get you what you want, I offer custom packages with only the items that are important to you. I offer professional prints, stunning albums, artistic canvas prints, creative guest books, high resolution digital negatives, and more.

I am available to shoot locally, nationally, and internationally. Based in the Philadelphia area, I have covered weddings from coast to coast. My wedding experience has brought me to weddings from Lake Tahoe to Los Angeles and Connecticut to Florida.

What primary photographic style do you identify with?

Contemporary, Photojournalism

Do you have liability insurance?

Yes

Do you offer special techniques such as hand-coloring or toning?

I create in mostly black and white and color with some sepia mixed in. I also offer "grungy" borders, the lomo look, antiqued, textured, softened. I shoot digitally so anything can be enhanced.

Is your media preference film or digital?

I shoot all digitally since it offers the most flexibility, feedback, speed, and ease. And it has come of age so that it surpasses film images.

Do you guarantee your presence at the actual event?

Yes. If you book me, you will get me. No bait and switch here.

Do you sometimes book yourself for more than one event in a day? Weekend?

No, I will never book more than one event a day. I wouldn't do that to myself or my clients.

What kind of equipment do you typically bring with you on the day-of?

Everything times at least two.

Do you bring back-up equipment to the event in case of malfunction?

Absolutely.

Do you charge hourly or full day?

Packages are based on what makes the most sense to you. Some people need 2 hours, some need 36.

What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?

Once for dinner. And I try to eat when the bride and groom are eating so that I am available for all of the action.

Do you charge for travel?

Only if it is outside of the Greater Philadelphia Area.

How soon after the event are the proofs ready for viewing?

Proofs are available online within 4 to 6 weeks of the wedding.

In what format are the initial proofs offered?

They are available online for easy access for you, family, and friends. All packages also include a proofbook so you have something to touch and feel and put post-it notes on.

Do you retain the copyright for the photos?

Yes.

Do you reserve the right to publish the photos?

Yes, unless you request otherwise in the contract.

Do you provide the digital files and/or negatives (or copies of the negatives) to the client?

Yes.

Will images be available for viewing online?

Yes.

What kind of albums do you offer?

I offer flush mount albums with a huge selection of sizes and covers.

When will the client get the final album?

I will create a preliminary design soon after your wedding pictures are posted online. From there we work together to create your perfect album. The album design is a collaborative process and goes through a thorough revision process until you are completely happy with the layout.
