Lisa Hessel is a creative genius. she's worth her weight (+ the weight of a herd of elephants since she's tiny) in gold. :)

I never truly understood why photographers charged the rates they do, and I certainly never appreciated the amount of time and work that goes into creating beautiful images until I started getting into photography as a hobby and read several books. And I didn't understand the value of customer service that a true professional, such as Lisa, can provide. I just thought she took pretty pictures.

I have a deep respect for Lisa. I admire her creativity. I adore her passion for what she does. I love that she can make anyone feel beautiful and comfortable in front of her lens. I appreciate the photos she's taken of my husband and I and our families, as they've captured memories we'll be able to cherish for a lifetime.

But that's not all. I am eternally grateful for Lisa, her husband Jon, and her assistant Lindsay, as they went above and beyond for us on our wedding day, and I know full well that other vendors would have just shrugged and said "sorry, that's not my job."

My coordinators didn't do what was expected of them, and they quit at the beginning of our reception. Lisa, Jon, and Lindsay, without hesitation, stepped into the coordinators' role, kept the reception flowing, and managed to still take gorgeous photos. They kept us calm, and helped us continue to enjoy the night when we could have let the coordinators' unprofessionalism ruin our wedding.

Lisa Hessel is one vendor that I would ABSOLUTELY recommend to other brides. She is invaluable. Thanks, Lisa, Jon, and Lindsay. You were an integral part in making our wedding, despite the hurdles, our dream wedding. We love you!

Where do I even start? I fell in love with Lisa the second we met at Starbucks, and continued to fall in love with her work even after I booked her. Her talent and work continue to amaze me, and she is an absolute pleasure to work with. After taking our engagement photos last Fall, we were more than pleased with how well we worked together with her, not to mention how fantastic and beautiful the photos turned out. And, after our September 25th wedding, her and her husband were seriously awesome to work with. They not only had fun with us on our wedding day, but we (and our wedding party) really enjoyed having them around on wedding day. Their sneak peak slideshow at the reception was a HUGE hit with guests, and gave us a taste of how wonderful our photos will be.

I could not recommend Lisa's work enough. Her use of light, composition, her skill, her friendliness, her compassion and appreciation for the art are spot on. If you are looking for a modern, photojournalistic photographer, with fantastic talent, a great personality and someone truly creative, Lisa is the one.

Lisa is amazing! Her work is so creative and she is so easy to work with. We didn't have the best weather on our wedding day, but you never would have known it was an issue if you asked the photographer. Her and her assistant (her husband) made picture taking a breeze and enjoyable. This was by far my favorite vendor!

   If I could give Lisa a 6 out of 5, I would! She is a hidden gem in the world of St. Louis wedding photography. Her packages are reasonably priced, and she offers amazing post-production/editing work on your photos! Not to mention, her husband is her assistant photographer, so you get a great team to work with you on your big day. They made our entire bridal party feel comfortable in front of the camera, and really captured the essence of our wedding day.
