About Liz's Hair Lounge
Hi, my name is Liz Agnew and I am an independent hairdresser in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.
I specialize in Bridal/Special Occassion styles as well as professional makeup application.
I consider myself to be extremely versatile in
designing and creating a style specific to each individual bride, whether she would like to wear her hair down, half-up or in an updo.
When performing a professional makeup application, I try to get a feel for how the bride
applies her own makeup on a daily basis. I believe a bride should be polished, but natural. Accentuating the eyes or the lips-but never both- allows a bride to never be too done up on her "big" day.
I recommend a
consultation approximately one month prior to the wedding day for a "practice run". This is an appointment I have the bride schedule to determine which hairstyle/makeup application feels and looks best to her.
I am available to you
by appointment in my salon or I can travel to you!
FAQ for Liz's Hair Lounge
There is only small fee if I am traveling out of the city.
1. Collect photos of bridal hairstyles/makeup styles that appeal to you and bring them to your practice-run wedding appointment.
2. Bring a photo of your wedding dress so the stylist is able to see the style and neckline of your gown to determine whether your hair will look best put up, half up or all down on your shoulders. You must bring with you the veil or headpiece you will be wearing so that the stylist may incorporate it into your wedding hairstyle.
3. Relay to your hairdresser how you wear your makeup on a daily basis. This will help her give you a look that is polished but also natural.
4. Inform the hairdresser of the colors you have chosen for your wedding (bridesmaid gowns, flowers, grooms tuxes, etc). She may be able to incorporate these colors into your makeup application which will tie together your personal look and the wedding itself.
5. Schedule a hair color appointment 1-2 weeks prior to the wedding day. It is also a good idea to get a trim (1/4 inch or so) to refresh your ends. This will ensure beautiful wedding day hair!
6. Consider the weather. Are you getting married on a hot and humid day? You may want your hair put in an updo to avoid perspiration and having your hair go flat or if you will be dancing the night away at your reception.
7. Ask your hairdresser if she has any mini-sized hair sprays you can fit in your or your personal attendant’s purse for the day. (I like BedHead Masterpiece Massive Shine Spray). $6 at professional salons.
8. Purchase the lipgloss/lipstick your hairdresser applied to your lips during the appointment for your wedding day. This ensures that your hair and makeup will look consistent in your photos.
9. Ask your hairdresser if she minds giving you a few "emergency" bobby pins to take with on your wedding day-just in case there is an "oops!" moment and you need to re-pin.
10. Remember, you want to look like YOU on your wedding day! Realize that brides in magazines are models, and you are just trying to look your most beautiful on your day and NOT overdone. Your hairdresser will be more than happy to make you look your best, but still look like YOU!
