LJ studios, especially James, provided us with the amazing care, attention, and quality we were looking for in a photographer. James made us feel very comfortable and excited from day one when we met with him in his beautiful studio. He continued to make us feel comfortable during our engagement photo shoot. The photos were absolutely beautiful and we knew our wedding photos would be just the same. We had our utmost trust in James and Andres on our wedding day, and they did not let us down. They were professional, yet fun and energized as they worked. Throughout our wedding day, they made us smile and laugh as though we were spending the day with our friends. Even our guests gave us compliments about them and their friendliness. James clearly loves his job and his work is amazing. We are extremely pleased with our experience and photos, and can't wait to see our album!!

My wife and I were married in Tarrytown at the Castle on the Hudson in May. James and his team -- including the hilarious Geno -- were incredible all the way through and I can't recommend them highly enough.

They took a journalistic approach to shooting us, stayed out of the way for plenty of candid moments (including my father and brother in a late-night dance-off) but also made sure to get the requisite pre- and post-ceremony shots that we're sending to family for the Holidays.

James Samela and the staff at LJ Studios have become like family to my husband and I. As soon as we met James, we knew he was the photographer for us! I will never hire another photographer for any of the milestone events in our life. Our wedding day was beautifully captured by James, Gene and Savior. Not only were they wonderful with me and my husband, but with our bridal party and our family. They seamlessly attended to details that I never even thought of. James even helped me take my veil off when no one else could get it out of my hair! My wedding photos turned out flawless and truly captured the essence of our special day. For my November 25 wedding, I searched high and low for the perfect photographer. I wanted someone who would capture our day without being intrusive! When I came across LJ Photo Studios and after having a meeting with James, I knew I had hit the jackpot! James was absolutely incredible! His hard work and passion for his job was evident through his work, his sample albums, and photographs. His style was exactly what we were looking for. He was professional, flexible, easy to reach, and most importantly, he really listened to my vision for my day. When the hurricane came through last summer, and we had to cancel our engagement shoot, James took the time to reschedule and took beautiful engagement pictures! The photographs were breathtaking!

On my wedding day, James, Andres, and the team did an incredible job of capturing the energy, mood, and happiness of all my 200 guests! He managed a rather large bridal party with ease, and made my husband and I feel like we were royalty! He even took the time to show my 90 year old Grandma the pictures he was taking. The wedding photographs are absolutely amazing! James made sure to get every single traditional, formal shot I wanted. However, he also took the candid and unexpected shots, which are some of my favorites! His creativity is unparallel. We have memories we will treasure for a lifetime! The LJ team truly helped make my wedding the best day of my life, and was one of the best vendors I worked with! I would highly recommend them for your wedding or your next event!

Working with LJ Studio’s was so much fun! We could tell from our Engagement photo session with James how enjoyable and easy it is to work with him. I’ve been in four weddings so far and I always dread the photo sessions. They’re long, boring, and just drawn out. NOT with LJ Studio’s. James and Gene made us laugh the ENTIRE time on our wedding day. Our huge bridal party told us how much fun they had taking these pictures; you can even see their laughter depicted in these photos. The time passed so quickly and our photo session was actually one of the highlights of our wedding day.

At first, my husband and I were trying to find the lowest-priced photographer to keep our wedding costs down. We quickly realized that YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR in this industry. LJ Studio's is priced well, but they're other companies out there that do package deals such as DJ/Videographer/Photographer...DON'T BE FOOLED. These companies are usually masters at DJ'ing and not the other two services. I’m giving the sound advice that this is WHERE YOU NEED TO SPEND YOUR MONEY. These pictures will last a lifetime and besides video, it’s all you have to remember on one of the most important days of your lives.

We ended up hiring two photographers for our wedding because we wanted more then just the “portrait” shots. We wanted photojournalistic “candid” pictures that would catch the moments that weren’t posed. We weren’t sure about the additional cost at first, but are now so thankful that we went ahead with two photographers. LJ Studio’s does an amazing job with one photographer, but they are UNBELIEVABLE and OVER-THE-TOP with two! James is truly an artist at his trade. You can tell that he LOVES his work as he’s running up to show you the mind-blowing photo he just captured. James was all over the place behind the second photographer taking all sorts of artistic shots from different angles. He really captured the emotion on people’s faces, which is often missed with other photographers.

LJ Studio’s was super quick with our online and printed proofs. They were ready when we came back from our honeymoon. When we watched the slideshow of all our pictures…it TRULY took my breath away and I was in tears. They were beautiful, elegant, interesting, and unexpected all at the same time.

I would HIGHLY recommend LJ Studio’s for all your photography needs-not just weddings. You WILL NOT be disappointed. I am a MAJOR skeptic of all vendors but LJ Studio’s put my mind at ease during the planning process. They offer amazing assistance with helping create the perfect wedding album for you as well. To sum it up, you have an artist working for you whom will go above and beyond his call of duty to get you the most unique, stunning, and memorable photos that you can ask for.

James is awesome to work with and produces a quality product. We also had our Son's first professional photos done by him, and enjoyed him immnesely. I would def. recommned having him do your event

James was great! our engagement pictures were phenominal. our wedding proofs were ready when we got back from our honeymoon and they had taken well over a thousand pictures... we're still chosing the best ones for our album!

James was very professional and for the most part i didn't even realize he was there and yet they captured all our moments wonderfully! thanks James!

Excellent, excellent, excellent photos!!! I did not even know these guys were around, but they where there. Our guess loved them and the pictures. I like to call them the "Yes man" :), because they did everything we had asked for and much more.

5 years later & we still love looking at our photos because James captured such special moments!
