Lori was fabulous -- hire her immediately! Why? She was a treat to work with, unobtrusive during the ceremony, but directive enough with the group shots to get things done, and made the photography a fun part of the day.
And, best of all, her pictures were awesome! She did a terrific job with capturing the place, the joy, the small details of the ceremony, and the personalities of our guests. In addition to the wonderful shots getting dressed, and of the ceremony itself, she captured people's faces with candids -- which can be so tough. And, I'm not particularly photogenic and usually hate seeing myself in pictures, but in hers I really did look lovely.
After taking the oodles of photos, she selected the best shots and put together an excellent slideshow, which I just sent out to my friends/family. Here are some of their comments...

...Those are BEAUTIFUL!!! I love them! She's great! You look beautiful. I love the outdoor shots in particular.. the fall color really make the pictures pop.
The only downside I can think of was that it took several weeks longer than expected to get the photos back, but as I said, they were worth waiting for.

When our original photographer had to back down due to familial obligations, Lori stepped in at her request and offered us a discounted package. Her work was flawless and our friends and family have not stopped glowing about the beauty of her photography. She was very flexible in working with us and planning out our day. What's more, she had us fill out a flow sheet that listed a rough timeline and the required shots so on the day of, no time was wasted and no time was lost. I told her it was okay if she took a short break during the cocktail hour as I knew my husband and I would want it as well and instead she walked around and took candids of our guests. The reason that professionalism was lower was because she ran her business out of her home which would have been fine, but for her young daughter answering occasionally and her answering sometimes sounding like she'd just woken up. Perhaps a dedicated line for the business that goes straight to voicemail when she's not working would be a bonus. Overall, a lovely job. I especially like her dedication to sharing her art. She had a student intern work with her at our wedding and all we had to provide was an extra vendor meal. As a teacher, this really appealed to me.

Dear Wendy,<br>Thanks so much for your feedback and constructive criticism. Point taken I will make a note of the phone issues. I apologize if I came across sounding tired, but I think it is partly just how I sound on the phone. Part of the reason I only have the one phone line is because everyone wants a bargain these days, so this is one of the ways I can keep my over head lower and pass those savings onto my clients. I've gotten more positive feedback about running my business out of my home, than negative. It creates trust right from the beginning of the working relationship with my clients. I am a very down to earth type of person, I see it as a way to share part of myself and who I am with my clients. I really enjoyed working with you and I am so pleased to hear that you and Rich are happy with the pictures I captured for you.

Lori DeSantis is a true professional. She knows exactly what needs to be done to ensure excellent photos. While the makeup artist was mad she couldn't use glitter on the bridesmaids, Lori knew right away that it would affect the light reflection and make the photo have hotspots. She was just excellent and I highly recommend her.

Lori was really great. She was really pleasant to work with at the wedding: very patient, very professional, had lots of great ideas, and made the photography very low-stress (which we appreciated, since neither of us like having our picture taken). I haven't gotten my album yet, but the proofs are beautiful -- she got some really nice candids and some very unique portraits. Her services are expensive, but if you can afford her, you won't regret it.
