Louise Austrie

Louise did an amazing job on my dress (alterations and bustle). I had purchased a Maggie Sottero dress in Vallejo and had wanted a particular size. The woman however told me she thought I should get a 14! I had never been that size so she did a 12. I was unsure, and ultimately I was right. I was a much smaller size since the dress had a corset back. The dress would slide down a bit with the weight, it did not go tight on the waist as I had hoped, etc. UNTIL Louise fixed it. She did it at a very good price and made it smaller for me. It was as if it had come that way! It was utterly perfect =D.She also did my bustle which was what I originally went there for. She did if for a good price as well. Using clear buttons and string the color of the dress, the bustle hooks and buttons were undiscernable. This was great so that when my dress had the train extended no one could see the buttons for the bustle. Louise, thank you so much. You helped in such a short notice when I needed fixing desperately. You were very friendly throughout and very sweet. I thank you for all you did and was ecstatic that the alterations were very well done and remained perfect!!! You did a fabulous job and I was able to tighten that corset and make my waist look smaller =D

Louise is such a gem! I found her off of Yelp and I was not let down.
She even let me bring a friend with a cocktail dress and me with an extra dress as well to my first wedding dress fitting and squeezed all of that extra work in without even batting an eye.
My mom is a seamstress but wouldn't dare tackle a complicated wedding dress and said for the work she did --took in the bodice, fitted the top, hemmed about 6 layers of material and did a bustle for $350--she is a STEAL! My cocktail dress had to be completely taken in about 2 dress sizes, top rebuilt and zipper ripped out and replaced for $95.
Very easy to schedule with, although she is quite busy so try to schedule in advance. And always, always bring your proper undergarments and shoes to EVERY single fitting (I had to come back once because I thought we were done with the hem...silly me!)

My dress had been altered on the cheap by the previous owner before she decided to buy a different wedding dress. The person who did the alterations made a complete mess of the lace and Louise expertly fixed the problem. She made the dress fit so well that even though we forgot to close the hook that made the back a key hole (a mistake I didn't even realize until I got home that night), the dress never budged and looked like it was made to be a v-back.

Louise also made my sister's dress from scratch. We gave her some inspiration and she ran with it. My sister and I both loved how it turned out. Louise really knows how to sew, she understands a woman's body and has great taste. She was a great resource for us.

Louise is WONDERFUL! I bought my dress through a wedding gown outlet, and I wanted sleeves added and the gown shortened because I am ever SO short.
When I brought the dress over, she pointed other items where my dress did not fit correctly. In fact, the seams looked like they had been over stressed, and it wasn't just by my trying on the dress. Oh no!!
I didn't know what style sleeve would look nice. So Louise designed on on the spot. She happened to have matching fabric so she didn't have to purchase any.
She fixed everything. Louise keeps up to date on all the new styles. She can sew wedding gowns from scratch. She can alter outfits with beading and lace that are too long, and make them look perfect, just like they were originally that length. Many of her regular customers have her make their clothes regularly. Just remember that she is BUSY. She's a one person business and if you are in a hurry, she needs to reorganize all of her clients to fit you in. Otherwise, I LOVE LOUISE!.
