LPK's Culinary Groove
A vegan wedding cake was on my must-have list for the wedding. Quebec City did not offer any options in this regard and I wasn't confident that the Chateau Frontenac would be able to produce a tasty cake worth the money it would cost. So instead, we paid a cutting fee and brought a 6" and 8" square vegan Vanilla Zinger cake from LPK's Culinary Groove in Toronto. I hadn't tasted the cake prior to purchasing but I had tasted their chocolate cake and was impressed. The vegan Vanilla Zinger is one of their signature cakes but needed to be pre-ordered 2 weeks in advance because it was slightly customized. The bakery allowed me to order a vegan cake with a flavour of my choice and mix-match icing. The price of the cake was ridiculously low considering most wedding cakes run in the $500 range but because it was a signature cake and not designed like a wedding cake, there were limits to what we could have. The cake was so delicious that some of our wedding guests plan to order it in future for birthdays and other events.
LPK made a smaller second wedding cake for me and few of my guest because we have a gluten allergy. I ordered their lime coconut cake and put an extra tier on it for me! Everyone raved at how delicious it was. The owners and staff are totally on top of everything and aim to please. Their products can be expensive, but you're paying for something that other vendors can't do - make a great tasting cake without gluten! I highly recommend LPK.
