We met with one of their photographers, Henry, and were very impressed by his work. He was also bilingual in Mandarin and English. The only drawback was that they were out of our budget by a lot.

I am so glad I found Lucy's Bridal! I had looked at several other salons and many were nice, but being petite and 5 feet tall it was difficult to decide on a dress because so many samples are in larger sizes.

I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in, as the salon was very big and organized well (as opposed to another salon I visited in TC). Mandy helped me pick out the samples and try them on...she is absolutely FANTASTIC! Mandy has been sweet, prompt, professional and courteous throughout the whole process. The price was very competitive and alterations were included in the final price. My veil was only $30. My dress came in on time with no hassles whatsoever.

I picked up my dress today and it fit perfectly and looked wonderful. The veil was hand-stitched and great. Mandy has been so great to have around that I was a little sad that this was the last day I would see her. Please, if you are looking for a dress don't purchase one without seeing Mandy first!

I went twice to try on some dresses. Jenny was super helpful and friendly, and did not put any pressure on. She deferred to Mandy (who was also friendly) when it came to questions for alterations, but overall I was satisfied with my experience. After my 2nd visit, she called me promptly to give me answers on my questions on fabric (ordered a swatch so I could look at the color) and delivery time, even though I hadn't committed to a dress yet. The dresses are Maggie Sottero/Eden and others similar in the price range. They also were slightly flexible on price, so it wouldn't hurt to ask (I just asked if it was a final price). I ended up going with a designer they don't carry, so I don't know how the experience is with actually buying the dress there. I gave them 4 instead of 5 stars since they don't have a huge selection. However, there are similar shops up and down the street, so that kind of makes up for it.

I stopped into this shop looking for bridal jewelry and I was glad I had already bought my dress. The dresses on display seemed made of lesser fabrics and had too much low-quality beading on them.

highly disappointing

Both my Mom and I were initially very excited to hire Henry after seeing his work. Henry is not cheap, but I decided to splurge on a photographer who seemed like he could do photojournalistic style. Hiring Henry is the worst vendor decision I made. After seeing the pictures from our wedding, I am very disappointed in his work. His photojournalistic style pictures equate to those that just about anyone can take with a professional camera. He took over 900 pictures, but I can count on one hand the number of pictures that aren’t posed that had my face from front view! Almost every picture that was photojournalistic had my profile, my back or about 20% of my face! There were only 2 close-ups of me during the entire ceremony and reception! He did take many pictures of me getting my makeup done, but which brides want pictures BEFORE their makeup is put on? During the cocktail hour, he seemed so bored and focused on eating appetizers that I had to ask him repeatedly to take pictures with guests before he would raise his arms to work the camera. He also failed to take important pictures like my feeding my husband cake, the ballroom setup and the ceremony setup. When I told him he didn’t take these must-have pictures, he said, “Oh really? I can give you pictures from another wedding.” I had a couple friends with professional cameras take pictures for us, and their pictures were far, far superior to those that Henry took. There are a few positives: Henry is friendly, he took some artistic posed pictures and he speaks Mandarin and little bit of Cantonese. However, for me that doesn’t make up for the fact that he is not a talented enough photographer for the price that he charges, is too laid back, does not do photojournalistic style well, and doesn’t seem to care much.

Although I'm not using Lucy's Bridal. It IS a very good place. Mandy was helpful. The prices were great. I just liked another dress down the street at another bridal shop.
