Lumiere du corps Resort

The staff at Lumiere worked extremely hard to make our weddnig day incredibly special. All of my guests commented on how beautiful it was there and how nice everything was. My husband and I had a perfect evening. We used all their vendors that they provided. The Dj was wonderful and the food was hot and tasted good. Our cake also looked beautiful and tasted good as well. I loved how my wedding day turned out and I owe it all to the all the staff at Lumiere. Thank you for the fantastic memories!

Our wedding day was PERFECTION and we owe that largely to the staff of Lumiere du Corps. Brittany our coordinator was especially amazing. She was so punctual on getting back with us on our questions [there were many] and she just thought of everything! Having our wedding there made it so much easier on us. Not to mention it is THE most gorgeous place- my guests were so surprised that the gem was hidden in the country- it's like a wedding oasis!

Lumiere is so unique! I would never expect to find anything like this in Indiana! Their property is beautiful! The chapels are so breathtaking. I have gotten so many compliments from guests, most of which had no idea Lumiere existed! I recommend this place for someone who is looking for a great setting where you can have you ceremony AND reception and not have to go anywhere for pictures!

Lumiere du Corps seems like a perfect venue: outdoor ceremony sites and your choice of an outdoor reception or an indoor reception...all on the same property. Unfortunately, the beautiful, convenient exterior is a facade for poor business practices.

I could write a novel depicting the numerous mistakes, arguments, and deception that occurred while my family and I worked with Lumiere to plan my wedding. However, I will attempt to summarize by frustrations:

1. Beware of hidden costs. I was warned by a previous Lumiere bride so I exercised caution and still managed to be surprised at every turn. No exaggeration...I was surprised they didn't charge per toilet paper square in the restroom!

2. Lumiere has an uncanny knack of making up the rules as they go. If you don't think you will be charged...don't worry...they will figure out a new rule/charge that miraculously applies to your idea or situation even though you signed a "contract" months ago.

3. If they make a mistake, it is the bride's job to remedy the situation...whether that be spending more money or developing creative solutions (which will probably result in a new rule, thus a new charge).

4. The customer is NEVER right. On multiple occaisions, I had actual arguments with the event planner or one or both of the owners. My relationship with Lumiere makes my new marriage seem easy!

5. My family overpaid (which is normal in wedding planning) and we were told the money would be refunded after the wedding. Money was refunded but not an amount that my family and I agreed upon. The disceprancy was less than $100 (not much, but, at this point, it is a matter of principle). I have contacted Lumiere five times and they refuse to respond. Come to find out, poor refunding and refusal to respond is what gave Lumiere an F from the Better Business Bureau.

I do want to be fair, so I will admit that the actual wedding day was great. Lumiere's staff (which ironically did not include any of the people with whom I previosuly worked) did a great job. It is a shame that ten months of agony preceded what should have been a wonderful experience.

I was married at Lumiere du Corps November 24th, 2007. The food was exquisite and the site was beautiful for all of our photos. All my guests couldn't believe how nice every detail was and couldn't stop complimenting my choice in venue. Adrienne and Bob are a joy to work with, they were prompt to reply to all of my emails and phone calls, typically by the next business day. Their pricing is incredibly reasonable, and is great because it is like a one stop shop for all of your big ticket items. I also recommend using their cake lady, Lois. We decided to go with a non traditional wedding 'cake' and actually requested Rice Krispie treats instead, and the creation was gorgeous and tasted awesome. I recommend booking early because I know they book almost a year in advance if not more. Overall: A-

We did a beautiful outdoor ceremony and indoor reception this year [2011] at Lumiere and WOW it was stunning. The staff was awesome throughout the planning process and the whole evening. Great venue, price and food! Can't wait to do another wedding there.
