From the first email, Tammy and Mark have absolutely been one of our favorite vendors to work with.

Their body of work is astounding. With their photojournalistic style, they capture moments that are full of natural emotion and meaning - not just posed shots with forced smiles (though those they do beautifully too). With our outdoor wedding in Lake Tahoe, they were able to work with a variety of lighting situations masterfully - especially when there was high sunlight, which was a major concern for us.

They were also very easy to work with. Tammy and Mark are a very charming couple who clearly knows their craft. They are very responsive and communicative - emails are responded to within 24 hours.

We highly recommend doing engagement photography with them before the wedding. It gave us a chance to understand how they work and gave Tammy and Mark experience shooting us (so they know how to make us look best).

The day of the wedding, they pulled us aside briefly for some posed shots and family pictures and then were unobtrusive for the rest of the night. Every once in a while you caught one in the corner of your eye and it was a nice reminder that you'd have something to remember that moment. They were very open to suggestions - places to shoot, particular poses, and the seemingly endless stream of family members to get pictures with.

Like many engaged couples, finding the right photographer for our wedding day was a top priority. We initially attempted to look for a local photographer in the San Diego area, but we really didn't find anyone that embodied the photojournalistic style that we admired. Low and behold, we came across Tammy & Mark from Memoire Studio in San Francisco, CA. Tammy & Mark are Wedding Photo Journalist Association (WPJA), Wedding and Portrait Photographers International (WPPI) and FEARLESS International Award Winners. We did our research and found that their link with these professional associations as well as their photographs on their blog and website warranted a face to face meeting.

So, we flew to our favorite city in Northern California-- San Francisco, and met up with Tammy & Mark. We were immediately amazed by their talents. We were able to see their portfolio in person and were on the edge of our seats. Their pictures told stories that kept us interested and intrigued. We literally kept saying "OMG" after turning each page and each photograph was unique, creative and bold. Tammy and Mark continuously push the envelope to create innovative artistry and we were excited about what they could do for us. Tammy & Mark's pictures went beyond the usual mainstream boundaries of photography and created something different, unique and special!

Besides Tammy & Mark's technical skills and photography acumen, they are a relief to be around. This was important to us because we wanted to be relaxed during our photo shoots. Both Tammy & Mark are down to earth, genuine and have a good sense of humor. We had a blast hanging out with them at our engagement photo shoot in San Francisco several months after we met them. We were able to get to know them more on a personal level and connected with them instantly. We enjoyed hearing their stories as a couple and as new parents to an energetic, cute, playful and sassy daughter.

We were very pleased that Tammy & Mark were able to capture our story on our wedding day. They were able to bring a third photographer, Victor, who matched their personality and style. Mark, Tammy and Victor were unnoticeably positioned all over the place, capturing every single angle and every single moment throughout our wedding day.

Tammy and Mark create magical moments every time they pick up the camera. We were very pleased with our engagement photos and preview wedding photos and can't wait to see the complete set! When we saw our wedding preview photos for the first time, our facial expressions and feelings reappeared as if we were getting married all over again. Even though our wedding was a few weeks ago, it brought us back to that place that was so very special to us. This is exactly what we were looking for!

I found Memoire here on PW though a special they were offering for Boudoir pics. Tammy and Mark were very responsive and professional. Due to traveling on my end, I had to move around the date a few times and they were flexible and worked with my crazy schedule.

When a close friend of mine showed me her wedding photos, I knew instantly that I had found my wedding photographers when my boyfriend (now husband) didn’t even proposed to me yet! So when I was planning my wedding, there was one less thing to worry about. We couldn’t be happier with our decision.

Since both DH and I had never taken any “professional/studio pictures” before, we really didn’t know how comfortable we would be in front of the camera before our e-session, but we were blown away by our engagement photos

Tammy and Mark are so amazing. You can tell they have a passion for photography and enjoy what they do. There are so many ideas they wanted to try and we had so much fun at the shoot. I don’t know why we were worried about being camera shy! They made us feel at ease and still kept their professionalism.

On my big day, they really went above and beyond. We had some problem with DH’s boutonniere and Mark even helped DH putting it on! In our portraits, Tammy and Mark really captured the love and the sweetness that DH and I share with each other and produced the pictures that represented “us.” I love how they captured the way we laugh together, the way we look at each other and even the way we hold each other’s hands. At the reception, they totally blended in with the guests so they don’t even realize that Tammy and Mark were taking pictures. Thanks to them we’ll have pictures of our most precious moments to share with our kids someday…

Our recent engagement shoot with Tammy and Mark was awesome! They are the easiest people to work with and really guided us to being comfortable in front of the camera. I love that they are a team of talented photographers whose individual style and perspective meshes together to give beautiful pictures from different angles. It takes away the worry from those of us who don't pose for a living but still want pretty pictures to show family and friends.

Mark and Tammy are one of the nicest people. They are so laid back, but professional at the same time. We headed over to the theater district in San Jose for some engagement pictures. They were up for some fun shots during our engagement shoot and they made some cool suggestions too. I think the best one were silhouette shots... Tammy and Mark were incredible from the minute we contacted them, to the wedding and beyond! We are from Toronto but had our destination wedding in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, where Tammy and Mark joined us to document our special day(s) there. Memoire Studio did a photo session of my hair and make-up trial. They are so much fun to work with. They even managed to get my cat at his best, presenting the true environment that we were in. They also have a great perspective providing variety and interest. In addition they are not intrusive or in your face. You will hardly know that they are there and yet you will be presented with the most wonderful photographs.

I found Memoire Studio Photography on weddingbee.com. I met Mark and Tammy for the first time with my husband at Starbucks and they were great. They are super kind, friendly, professional, flexible, and reliable. Both my husband and I are truly happy with their work. They did an AWESOME job! All of the pictures came out beautiful. We are very blessed to have met them.

Where do I begin? Tammy and Mark were referred to us by one of my husband's closest friends after our initial photographer cancelled on our wedding a month before our date due to conflict of schedule. Let me just say that after meeting Tammy and Mark you immediately want them to be your friends! Tammy and Mark are the nicest photographers I've ever had a pleasure working with. They are not only professional but very patient, understanding, thoughtful, and easy going! They definitely knew where to be at every moment of our special day. They did not miss a tear or a laugh! They really devoted their time not only to Joe and I but to all our guests. We could not have asked for better people to work with. They were by far the best referral that I had received in preparation for the wedding! It was by miracle that they happen to have been available. They do quality work for a fraction of the price than the other photographers that we talked to. We were very happy that we did not have to break the bank in hiring someone in such short notice. (We paid a little over $2,000). They say that some things are a blessing in disguise so I can thank my initial photographer for cancelling on us and for our friends for the referral! Their work speaks for itself but I HIGHLY recommend them.

Memoire Studio flew up to Vancouver to cover our intimate civil wedding. Prior to the wedding we constantly communicated over email and phone calls about timeline and any questions we had. They were very comfortable to work with which was a plus because I tend to get nervous in front of the cameras. We like their non-intrusive photojournalistic style and our pictures turned out great! My husband and I hired Memoire Studio for our wedding day. Tammy and Mark were very flexible and understood our needs. Mark and my big sister actually attended the same high school in San Jose, Costa Rica, and also the same University.
