This Very talented lady; plays the most wonderful music, I was amazed at the amount of diffrent music she could play on a harp. If space is liited; this would be the way to go; she takes up about the same amount of room as a wheelchair. I would highly recommend this ve!ndor

Calista Anne Waddy has played the harp since she was ten years old, and performed publicly throughout the United States. With her extensive and varied repertoire she has musically enhanced special occasions for a wide range of clients, including Presidents Bush and Carter, Vice President Quayle, Governors Jeb Bush, Joe Frank Harris, Roy Barnes and many others of note. Even the statuesque beauty of the concert grand harp provides a visual note of refinement and distinction.
*Indoor and outdoor weddings, receptions, corporate functions, religious events, private and business dinners, and cocktail parties may all benefit from the presence of the artist and her classical style harp. With three extremely different harps to choose from: the Concert Grand Classical Harp, the Celtic Folk Harp, and the Renaissance Styled Antique Troubadour Harp, Calista Anne often performs at themed events.

FAQ for Macon Harpist
Will you play for my wedding or event if it is outdoors? Playing the harp outdoors rapidly adds to the wear and tear on the instrument. Extreme temperatures and humidity levels are not great conditions for stringed instruments, and in some cases the weather can adversely affect the quality of the performance. Some harpists will not perform outdoors under any circumstances. I have a few special provisions for outdoor events including a large level surface to position the harp on, out of direct sunlight, and preferably under some type of shelter. Under no circumstances will I perform outdoors in inclement weather. For example, if it starts to rain you will see me immediately cover up my harp and move my instrument into the nearest shelter, no matter what else is going on at the time. I require all of my outdoor gigs to provide an alternate inclement weather site prior to my accepting the gig.
How does a client secure your services and reserve the wedding date? Serious inquiries are handled on a first come, first serve basis. The date is legally reserved only once I receive payment of the retainer fee and a returned signed contract. Should a second inquiry for the same date occur prior to my receiving the retainer fee and contract from the first client, the second client may choose to be put on a waiting list pending the outcome of the first client's decision about my services. All parties involved will be notified of the situation. The first client has 10 days from the date of the arrival of the contract to make a decision to either forfeit the date or to pay a retainer fee, thus reserving the date and guaranteeing my services. Also, it is very important that a client supply an emergency phone number for the date (please make it someone not directly involved with the wedding such as a friend not in the wedding party) as well as a map or directions to the location.
Does the client need to provide anything such as a chair or stand? I bring my harp, harp bench, music stand, and music to every solo gig. Other equipment (such as a stand light for dim lighting situations or amplification) needs to be discussed in advance as I do not always bring that equipment to every gig. I need about 6 square feet to set up and if amplification is requested, I ask that my set up space be close to an outlet or that there is an extension chord provided. It is also helpful if the client advises me on where to park, and possibly reserve a space that is on level ground, and close to where I will be needed.
Do you play continuously for the entire event? For events lasting up to two hours, I require one 10-15 minute break. For events lasting up to three hours, I require 30 minutes of break time either in two intervals of 15 minutes or three intervals of 10 minutes. Breaks are not an issue during wedding ceremonies as there are periods of rest for musicians throughout the ceremony. Playing the harp (or indeed almost any instrument) continuously is actually quite physically demanding. I do my best to take breaks at appropriate times, such as just prior to (and during) speeches or presentations. With a little coordination and planning, breaks can become a seamless part of the overall atmosphere of the event.
What if I want to book you for more than one event? I offer discounts for additional services. If you hire me for both the wedding and the reception, the cartage fee is waved for the second service. Other dates, such as rehearsals, showers, and bridesmaids luncheons will include the cartage fee, but I am happy to give a large discount, as you will be hiring me for multiple services.
When is the Balance Due? Payment options are available. Many clients prefer to pay a few weeks in advance, so that they don’t have to worry about it before their wedding. If you do so, I am happy to take pay pal, check, or cashier’s check. The balance is due no later than the day of my performance. I am happy to take cash or certified check the day of the wedding. Please note that my contract states that I must be paid by the time I am ready to perform. If I have to wait to be paid or you ask to mail me the payment, there is an additional fee. Please read the contract for specifics regarding final payment.
How far will you travel for gigs? I regularly travel to locations and venues throughout Georgia for gigs. The cost of travel is included in my usual fees for locations in Macon, Warner Robins, and Perry. Travel to locations in cities other than those previously listed will involve an additional mileage fee.
