We stumbled upon Macy's Bridal Salon after having a bad experience at a different downtown Minneapolis Bridal Salon. Macy's took us the same day without an appointment. It ended up being an AMAZING experience. I had no clue that Macy's carried so many dresses in such a broad price range. I was given an attendant who listened to my vision of a dress. She brought me at least 15 dresses and helped me put each one on. There was no time limits or stress of trying to pick something in only an hour. We were able to take our time and I found my dream dress. All contact with the salon after purchasing my dress was great! Everyone I spoke with over the phone was attentive, polite, and helpful. I highly recommend trying out Macy's Bridal Salon downtown Minneapolis. You will have a wonderful experience.

I always hoped I could go to the Dayton's/Marshall Field's Bridal Salon to look for my wedding dress. Even though they were bought out by Macy's I decided to go anyway. The fitting rooms were dirty (worn carpet, broken blinds on the window, dirty fitting room doors & walls, etc.) - the salon looks like it hasn't been updated in 10+ years. Most girls dream of wedding dress shopping in a clean salon full of pretty things to compliment the beautiful dresses and a staff that is friendly, courteous and helpful (well at least this girl does).Emma was the first person I worked with. I explained exactly what I was looking for and she showed me everything that wasn’t what I had described. Then, just as we were about to go into the fitting room I spotted a dress that was EXACTLY what I had described to her. That was THE dress that I bought. I ordered my dress on a Friday and Emma said she would call me on Monday to confirm when my dress would arrive. I followed up two days later when I still hadn’t heard from her and had to call again to get an answer. I brought my bridesmaids to the Macy’s Bridal Salon to look for their dresses too. We were put in a room and no one followed up with us – I finally had to ask someone to clear out some of the dresses and help us determine if the dresses we were interested in were available in the color we wanted. Emma said she would call me to confirm once all of the bridesmaids had provided their measurements so I that I would know when the order was placed . . . same thing, I had to call and follow up. I had a 6pm appointment for alterations and called to see if I could get in earlier. When I called Emma said that they didn’t have any openings. I commented to the seamstress that they must be busy because I had tried to get an earlier appointment and she said I was her first appointment and she hadn't had any appointments yet. There are additional examples that I could provide but basically they were all of the same scenario where I contacted the salon and the person helping me was condescending and not helpful.I asked the seamstress/salon to keep anything that was cut off of my dress when they hemmed it so that I could use the extra material to wrap my bouquet. They told me no problem. When I called to pick up the extra material they told me they couldn’t find it. The manager called back and said she found some material that matched my dress that I could use. It worked - I was grateful. My dress, bridesmaid dresses, all of our shoes, jewelry, my make-up and some additional things for the wedding were all purchased at Macy’s. I felt that for the amount of money I spent at Macy’s for my wedding that I should have received better treatment. Although I feel the salon had a good variety of dress styles to choose from I would not recommend this salon based on their customer service.

I wanted a sparkle dress and could not find the right dress anywhere. We tried on about 60 dresses at many salons and I saw a trunk show invitation to Macy's Demitrios Bridal salon. I decided to check it out with my Mom, just in case, I had been considering another dress. The dresses were gorgeous and we saw the one hanging up when we walked in. I ended up trying the dress on and loving it. We bought it that night at the trunk show. I also found my head piece, and bridesmaid dresses there. The bridesmaid dresses ended up being more reasonable than other places. My dress was the perfect amount of sparkle and fit.

Overall, Macy's Bridal in Minneapolis was a good place to go. The consultant I worked with was very kind and helpful from the first day I tried on dresses to the day my gown first came in. She listened to what I wanted and helped me narrow down my choices. One of the managers was also very kind and accommodating. Alterations can be done on site, although I only needed a bustle made so I cannot speak for alterations. The bustle cost around $200 and I was pleased with the results. My only negative experiences with Macy's occurred after my gown arrived. When I came in for my first and second fittings, and when picking up the gown, the receptionists and the other manager were rude and condescending, even after they confirmed I was a paying customer. Their attitude was not professional, and I felt we were being judged for the way we looked and dressed. I would recommend giving Macy's a chance, but don't be surprised if you receive some unprofessional treatment from some of the employees here.

After looking for dresses at several different stores, I was feeling a little overwhelmed. At the other stores, the dresses were all in torn bags and I had to sort through them and try to find what I was looking for. On top of that, most dresses at the others stores were covered with beads and lace. I just wanted very simple ivory satin. Dress shopping at Macy's was a completely wonderful experience. They put my mom and I in a large clean dressing room and our consultant asked us about our wedding. After we explained that we wanted a simple and elegant wedding, she started pulling dresses for me that were the simple satin dresses that I'd been looking for. I loved everything about my Macy's dress shopping experience.

Although Macy's is fairly expensive, they had exactly what I wanted, where the other stores did not. My consultant was amazing, and the dressing rooms were big and very private, unlike the stalls with the curtains like other stores. That alone made the experience great. I got my alterations done there, and the woman who did my alterations was absolutely incredible. She knew exactly what she was doing, and listened to what I wanted. Overall a really great experienece.

The sales consultants overall were both helpful and nice. The salon has large dressing rooms that can accomodate a small group, and they make searching for a dress a good experience. Due to the high cost of alterations, I had alterations done elsewhere.

Macy's had a very nice selection of jewerly. I bought my necklace and earrings from their bridal salon and was very happy with them.

Because my best friends/bridesmaids were in Ottawa and NYC, I went about picking out the bridesmaid's dresses with Todd's help. We visited several bridal stores in the Twin City area, but I felt the most confident with the staff at Macy's Bridal Salon in Minneapolis. The women who helped us were so professional, and I really appreciated their straightforward mannerisms. It was like I had three great aunts telling me what would work, and what wouldn't work. They didn't hesitate to ask me about the body shapes of my bridesmaids, and led me towards dress styles that would flatter their body types. They also wanted to know my budget, and only gave me dresses that fit in that budget. I was able to order the dresses with my bridesmaid's measurements, and the dresses fit well.

I had gone to a few wedding dress stores with my daughter, who insisted that I have a beautiful dress on the day I marry the person I love. So many of the stores we went into assumed that I was the mother of the bride, which was fair enough. But once they found out that I was the bride, they still brought me mother-of-the-bride dresses. I found it rather insulting. It was only when we went to the Bridal Salon at Macy’s did the sales clerk actually ask who was the bride. I felt that she was happy for me, and I felt really good in the department. She brought me dresses that were classic, and made really wonderful suggestions about how my hair should be, and my makeup. The dress that I picked needed to be hemmed, and taken in on the sides (all these years, I never knew that you were suppose to get a dress bigger and then have it taken in). I think it was great that it was all taken care of there.
The dress was taken in and made to fit like a glove. I had to go in for two fittings, which is customary, I think, and I was happy with how the dress was finished. I think the staff there does an excellent job in helping a bride to pick the dress style to suit them, and then takes extra time to make sure it fits well and that all the small details are taken care of.

My wife surprised everyone with a second dress during the reception, and she looked magnificent! And being part of the Macy's chain, the price was also very good. With her two dresses she still didn't spend as much as she expected to spend on 1 at on the fancy boutiques.

I really enjoyed working with the team at Macy's. They helped me find my dream dress as well as all of my bridesmaid dresses. I would highly recommend them.

My dress was beautiful and the help I got was great, initially. The alterations service was poor and extremely expensive.

My purchase and alterations were going on during the chang-over from Marshall Fields to Macy's. The service was better before Macy's toko over, but I still loved my Vera Wang dress and their selection was great.

I loved my dress -- once it actually showed up. I ordered the dress in August 2005 -- it did not arrive in the store until July 2006 (3 weeks before the wedding). The salon was not accomodating in anyway regarding the delay on my dress, I didn't feel like they were "on my team" in getting the dress from the manufacterer. Paying $3500 for a gown, I would have expected better service and a more professional manner of handling this matter. Alterations were good, and quick. They were flexible in scheduling them with me since I was coming in from out of town.
