I walked in with 6 of my 8 bridesmaids to look for bridesmaid dresses. We had an appointment and we arrived 15 minutes early. They told us to start looking and someone would be with us shortly. No one came around to help us and they had little selection of bridesmaid dresses. It wasn't worth the trip up to Portsmouth from MA. I heard they have a good selection of bridal dresses but we never made it that far we ended up just leaving after no getting any help.

I found the dress on the first day ... The woman who assisted me was great. I went back for my first fitting and was so disappointed. The seamstress seemed bothered and rushed. I felt that I should have had the alterations completed at another location.

The dress selection is great but if you have the opportunity to have the dress altered at another location...I highly recommend it.

Madeline's Daughter gets an A for dress selection, but a D- for customer service. I gave my consultant a very specific price range, explaining to her that I would go no higher than a certain amount. My price range was more than reasonable. She brought me in lovely dresses, all very much in tune with what I had explained to her. We narrowed it down to 2 dresses. Imagine my surprise when I was informed that the dresses I loved were both $1K more than I told her I wanted to spend. What most upsets me about this is that I told her part of the reason I came to MD was because the last shop I went to, they never asked me a price range and showed me dresses that were double what I had intended to spend. The truth is, if I really wanted the dress at MD I could come up with the money to buy it -- but there are so many other brides out there who are working with such tight budgets that for them coming up with an extra $1000 would be impossible. How dare they take advantage of a bride like that! I would not return to that store if they paid me to wear the dress! A warning to other brides: demand to see the price of the dress before you try it on and fall in love with it. Good luck with the wedding planning!

I could not say more good things about Madelines Daughter. After going to 6 other bridal shops, I finally had someone who knew what they were talking about and seemed like they actually cared!

There dresses were a amazing.. but.. I am a size 0 and they insistend that I get an 8. Needless to say I spent some must money getting it fixed .. by them of coarse!!!!

The store has beautiful dresses, but I was extremely frustrated with service I have received after I purchased my dress. I was coming from Boston and fitting times were inconvenient and they did not do much to work with me. They woukld not offer me saturday fittings. I also purchased my bridesmaids dresses there which ended up being a huge mistake. When my girls called to purchase there dresses the store wasn’t sure what color they were ordering and they were not very helpful having the girls pick out the dress size over the phone. They also did not notify me or the girls when any of our dresses arrived at the shop. Very poor customer service considering how much money all of those dresses cost.
