Maggiano's Little Italy - Oak Brook, IL
We only had one month to plan our wedding. I had been to several events at different Maggiano's and they were always beautiful.
Fortunately, Maggiono's Oakbrook had our date available. Valerie and Darlene were such a pleasure to work with. We had two meetings and both were perfect. Both ladies made everything so easy. All we did was tell them what we wanted and it was done.
I had to call for some additional information and Valerie or Darlene was not available. I spoke to Kathy in banquets and she was able to help me. She had all the necessary information. Excellent customer service again. I also had to make a major change the day before the event and Valerie took care of everything.
The day of the event was perfect. Valerie was there to make sure everything went as planned.
The servers/staff were accomodating to special meal requests to certain guests as well.
Our day was perfect and we owe that to the excellent staff at Maggiano's Little Italy.
A totally amazing experience. We initially inquired about a small room because of the number of guests we were inviting. The staff asked some questions, determined our needs, offered a larger room that was PERFECT. We could not have had a better experience. The atmosphere, the taste and number of food choices, the amount of leftovers they sent home -- there is no arena in which they could do better. The staff was generous with their time. They went far beyond expectations and I would happily recommend this venue.
Well, here's the thing... we didn't have a true "reception"-- just a dinner with 45 guests. And the food was absolutely spectacular-- many relatives said they wish they'd done something like we did for the wedding. I missed the dancing a bit, but ours was the first of 5 weddings this year alone, we figured we'd dance at other people's weddings and enjoy food at ours! They send us home with about 40 pounds of leftovers too, which meant all the relatives had an awesome breakfast the next day too. But I was very disappointed in the even planner. Each time we met with her she didn't remember us. At the actual dinner we had 2 vegan (my brother and sister in law, who left early because they didn't have anything but pasta to eat!!---no one mentioned it to me bc they didn't want to upset me) and 2 kosher guests who were supposed to be accomodated, and I didn't find out until the end of the meal that they hadn't been. It was partially my fault, because though I asked the 4 if 'they were covered', I hadn't mentioned that they were supposed to have special meals to them, so they didn't know. At the end of the evening, when I did notice it, and asked at least for desserts, the waiter offered to bring creme brulee for the vegans!!! clearly had no idea what it was and thought vegetarian was fine (which makes me wonder what was in the cheesecake...?), by the time he suggested fruit the vegan relatives were gone.
Not sure whose fault it is-- when I complained the next day the head manager came and blamed it on a miscommunication between the event planner and the head waiter...my inclination is still to blame the event planner. It was a small event for them and we were clearly not a priority...and my feeling is that it was my wedding-- at least give me a heads up who we'll be working with the night of if the person who planned it won't be there.
Oh, and they didn't set up the table numbers/ seating plan that we dropped off that morning...which with 5 tables would not have been an imposition. But seriously, the food was absolutely unbelievable even though $$$
We were so happy with the entire process of planning the reception with Maggiano's! The dinner was fantastic and we had so many left overs for many of our guests to take home. I would definately recommend this location for a wedding or other family events!
The food was delicious! The service was exceptional! The setting was fabulous!
