Maggie's Sweets

Unfortunately, we were quite disappointed with our wedding cake. It was not at all up to the standards we were expecting, given the great samples we had seen from Maggie's portfolio. The cake was uneven and bulging - especially the middle tier - and the fondant was lumpy and dented. The colour of the middle tier also didn't match the sample ribbon around the bottom. As a result we ended up moving the cake to a less visible area, and would have avoided the cake cutting had it not already been announced. We can't speak to what issues Maggie may have faced making the cake, but it just didn't seem to reflect the care and thought that we had put in to every other aspect of our wedding.

Prior to the wedding day, we thought that we had a good working relationship with Maggie. Also, the quality of the cake sponge itself was good. However, the cake was very important to us - the looks just as much as the taste - and we can't help but feel let down and embarrassed. Hoping for a response, we emailed Maggie to let her know how we felt about the cake. I waited a week for a response before sending another email. Another week had passed since sending the 2nd email. I sent a third and final email about a week ago. We still have not received any response from Maggie. We found this to be incredibly unprofessional and disappointing.

Maggie did the most amazing job on my best friend's wedding cake - the colors were just beautiful, and the design was exactly how Amanda had envisioned it... In addition, Maggie was very professional, polite, and was timely in her responses when contacted. After seeing the final result at the wedding, I had only wished we'd gone with Maggie for our own wedding cake. I've never tasted anything so wonderful - the sponge was moist and flavorful and many of the guests had complimented on this throughout the evening. Great job Maggie!

She answered my countless emails promptly and was alot of fun to work with. Our cake was beautiful on the day of and tasted even better than our trial. You can't really ask for a much better service. Everything was great!
