Magical Marriages

I hired Melinda to provide day-of coordination for my wedding and could not have been more pleased. She was always so helpful when I had any questions or concerns and met with me on 2 occasions to review logistics and decoaration. I ended up hiring an additional assistant to help decorate the venue on the day of and the prices were outstanding. They made my venue look exactly as I had pictured without much direction from me! It was so nice to hand off those reponsibilities on the day of and not worry about how it would turn out! They did a perfect job. Melinda was fun but stern with the other vendors and they were familiar with her work and respected her opinions. I couldnt have asked for much more out of a wedding planner!

Melinda was amazing to work with! Very friendly, down to earth and completely capable of making the wedding of our dreams come to life! She understood our budget and helped us plan accordingly. Anyone who is looking for help planning their wedding, should definitely contact her!

I hired Magical Marriages for my wedding. Melinda the owner was already booked for a wedding on my date. I agreed to have only assistance to be present at my reception. This was fine since I really only needed a person to be present while we had the ceremony at another location. My overall feeling is that this is a start up organization. The assistances are not the sharpest knifes in the bunch. They are young girls that are reactive not proactive. In hindsight, I do not know what value they added. There were a few times they actually were in the way. They were very concerned about keeping candles lit on a windy night and walked into a few camera shot. The assistances actually damaged some personal property and Melinda did the right thing and paid for the damage. One of the main reasons I hired Magical Marriages is because they allowed you to pay by the hour. However, it is my understanding that they have changed to payment model to be like other wedding planners. Since this is the case, I would not hire them if the opportunity came up in the future. If you must pay for a package I believe there are better companies out there. I believe Melinda is struggling to start a successful business but needs to find better help. I would give two starts but because Melinda paid for the broken property I gave three.

I wasn't sure I needed a day-of coordinator since our venue provided a coordinator for the ceremony and venue setup. Then I thought about all the decorating and special touches we were planning and how I didn't want to put all that on my family, so we talked to several planners and ended up going with Melinda at Magical Marriages. I'm so glad we did! She gave us a great rate that included her and an assistant coming early to decorate our ceremony and reception and stay to help direct guests and pack up afterward. Melinda was very accessible and easy to communicate with, and even checked in a few times during the planning process to see if there was anything else she could do or remind me of little things I may have let fall through the cracks. I just gave them a list of what I wanted in what places and labeled the boxes of materials, and they did all the work -- getting flowers to the bridal party, assembling centerpieces, setting out favors, setting up the wish tree, etc. etc...it was really a lot of work and they did it beautifully! Definitely worth every penny -- I highly recommend Melinda whether you just need decorating like we did or if you're looking for someone to handle more planning tasks because they were really on top of things.

Melinda saved the day. Even though we just hired her for day of services, she went way beyond this, meeting with us before several times and even meeting us the day after the wedding with our gifts and leftover items. We didn't have to worry about a thing on our wedding day, she was there before you had to ask, and the entire event from ceremony through the reception ran smooth and perfect. I would highly recommend Magical Marriages to anyone looking for help and expertise on the day of without breaking the bank!
