Magnolia Bridal & Formal Wear
No words could express the amount of disappointment in this store. Bridesmaids dresses were not delivered when promised, not even by the wedding date. Also, the money was never returned. One employee even cussed out the Bride!? Several attempts to get in contact with the store resulted in employees hanging up. Most unprofessional place i have ever dealt with - will NEVER deal with them again. Neither will half of Horry County.. word spreads fast around here...
The ladies at Magnolia Bridal & Formal Wear helped make my dreams come true! I had such an incredible and fabulous experience ordering my wedding gown as well as having it's alteration done with them-- that we order all of the tux's for our wedding with them!
They are personal and attentive to details. They seem to truly enjoy providing their services, and are there to please their cleints. I always felt like their most important wedding; and I believe that is how they conduct themselves with each person they...
This place is the crappiest service I have ever gotten in my life from a business. I am the MOH for my friend and we order a dress months in advance for her wedding. I called about two months before the wedding asking where it was and if had shipped already and the lady was very rude and said it would be in shortly. 3 weeks later I called again, once again to be told it would be in that next friday. The next thursday after that friday I called and still no results and still very rude responses. The ladies there don't seem to care at all if your dress doesn't come in. It is now a week before the wedding and still no dress. I went in to see where it was and they went into the back to look for 20 minutes. Called the company that does the dresses and then I was told by the owner that they sent the dress to the wrong store and then it got denied and now they can't get it. It would have been nice to find this out before hand! The owner was like we can do one of two things. We can refund your money or you can choose another dress to be shipped over night. I said I would take the refund because I can't trust you to put another order in and have this happen again. I don't even think they ordered the dress to begin with there so damn unorganized!! NEVER USE THIS PLACE THEY WILL SCREW UP EVERYTHING! There are papers and dresses everywhere and they even had a dog in the store which I never noticed until my last visit. Who has a smelly dog in a dress store? This place doesn't even deserve any stars!
Let me begin this review by saying that before I selected them, I read a review online that describe them as unprofessional, a nightmare to work with and that no one should ever choose them to handle such an important day. I chalked it up to an angry bridesmaid and gave them the benefit of the doubt....BIG mistake. For starters, all of my bridesmaids that ordered from them received their dresses 3 weeks later than they were told. When the dresses came in, they weren't the fabric I wanted, but I still didn't stress. They purposely ordered my mother's dress 3 sizes too big so they could charge a fortune for alteration and then managed to butcher the alterations so bad 2 days before my wedding (yes, it took them that long to alter it)that I had to call someone else to save it the day before my wedding. My bridesmaids shoes came in a week before the wedding and were pink...the problem, my colors were cashmere and so their shoes should have been a tan color. Their excuse? Well that's how they turned out when we dyed them, not our problem. I took them to another bridal store where I was told they were absolutely dyed the wrong color because there is no way cashmere would ever turn pink no matter what fabric. On top of that, I ordered a child's tux from them that was not able to be used because of a family emergency 4 days before the wedding. I was told that I'd be refunded for the cleaning fee since it would never picked up or worn and I never saw my money. Bottom line, don't trust them for your big day, they will attempt to ruin it.
Just as every bride is, I was really nervous about buying a wedding dress. My first stop was Magnolia Bridal, since I bought my prom dress there years earlier. The first thing I noticed was a sign out front that stated new ownership. I went in and I was greeted by the new owner very warmly. Another bride was there, but she made an effort to give both of us the attention and space we needed while trying on wedding gowns. I tried on at least 11 gowns, and bought mine that very day!
I looked around there so I could give a more accurate review and from what I saw they carry many great lines. Alfred Angelo, Anjolique, Joli, Sarah Danielle, Moonlight, and Aurora were the lines I saw there. They also have great bridesmaids pieces. Their mother-of-the-bride/groom dresses were not what my mom was looking for, but they were still in very good taste. I was impressed by the inventory of what seemed to be such a small store. I also bought jewelery to match my gown and even months later, it has not tarnished or turned.
My husband and his guys got their tuxes from Magnolia and they had no complaints, only praise. I could not say enough good things about Magnolia Bridal. The service is great, the merchandise is fabulous, and they have everything your bridal party could ever imagine needing. Renee, the owner, and Traci, the other girl who worked with me, made my special day perfect. I urge you to give them a chance to impress you like they did me.
The problem I had with Magnolias was that the owner ordered the wrong size/hem length on my wedding dress and then tried to say it was my fault and that she couldn't do anything about it (2 months before my wedding!) She told me I would have to order and PAY for a whole new dress. The dress was 1 size too small and 3 inches TOO SHORT even when I was barefoot! Thankfully I found another bridal shop and their tailor was able to take apart and reconstruct the dress so that I could wear it. I thought the owner acted very unprofessionally, and would not recommend this store. If I ever needed any formal wear again I would go to Amanda's Collection.
I had a very rough time shopping for "the Dress"! I had gone to several over bridal shops and would end up leaving feeling VERY very discouraged, and would go home in tears. My budget was very low and in every dress shop that I went into I just didn't find a dress that fit me as well as fit my personality. I managed to find "THE PERFECT ONE" and tried it on LOVED it and the price was perfect! I should have started her first!
