Our only daughter got married this weekend at this outstanding North Carolina destination wedding venue. Our daughter is a U.S. history buff, especially the colonial to Civil War years. Shortly after their engagement 14 months ago, her wonderful fiance found Magnolia Manor Plantation B&B on the internet. Both sets of parents and the young couple visited over a year ago and were all impressed by the beauty of the property, the furnishings, and the passion Larry and Sheila Carver have for their historic property and for working to produce magical weddings. They've been doing this for 9 years or more and have an experienced, caring staff. Our weekend was memorable, relatively stress free, and we highly recommend this venue to anyone planning a wedding in the near future. Their prices cannot be beat for the amount of caring service you receive..........and the food at both our rehearsal dinner and our Southern Barbecue wedding was out of this world!!! The wedding weekend began at 4:00 on Friday 4/27/12 and ended Sunday 4/29/12 at 11 a.m. The rehearsal dinner was Friday night and the wedding was Saturday. We can't say enough about how Sheila and Larry Carver delivered beyond what we expected and what was promised in their contract with us (entered into almost 14 months ago after the young couple became engaged) We looked at many venues at that time, and the bride & groom as well as their families live in Chapel Hill/Carrboro, NC where there are many outstanding choices, but nothing came close in terms of charm, ease, flexibility, and value. Almost all of our guests commented on the house, the grounds, and the beauty of the place. They also loved the food (especially Larry's pulled pork, which he began cooking at 11 PM on Friday night in order to be ready for the wedding the next day). The DJ was experienced and worked very closely with the bride and groom to include all of their favorite tunes. The 3 tiered and 3 flavored wedding cake was delicious. Our minister was not able to be there for the rehearsal, so Sheila Carver masterfully coordinated and directed that on Friday. The staff the Carvers have cultivated in that remote location for the 9 years they have been doing this are experienced, extremely sensitive to the wedding party's needs, and have a way of being constantly present but not intrusive. The breakfasts for those of us staying at the mansion were truly gourmet. We left with a warm feeling in our hearts and so glad that our wedding event was at Magnolia Manor Plantation B&B in Warrenton. If you are considering Magnolia Manor Plantation, I urge you to take the trip and visit with Larry and Sheila at the location. Meeting them and seeing the grounds are what sold the bride and groom and all 4 parents last year. We are so glad we didn't have the wedding in a big impersonal hotel in Raleigh, Durham, or Chapel Hill. The Carvers put a lot of love and a personal touch into their work with brides and grooms, and it shows. When we called for advice ahead of time about favors, a slide show I was attempting to make, flower colors, etc., Sheila was always responsive and helpful. Having your wedding here is like having a free wedding planner on board as well. Her son even helped me, via the telephone, figure out how to do the slide show. As far as customer service goes, they were very sensitive to all our needs and even unexpected occurences, such as providing a heater next to a frail family member when the temperature dipped (their idea) and bringing food to a diabetic family member who needed something to eat ahead of everyone else on Friday night. I've experienced resorts and destinations in the past that didn't live up to their web sites. This is not the case with Magnolia Manor. In fact, the experienced surpassed even what the web site promised. As the Mother of the Bride, I highly recommend Magnolia Manor Plantation Bed and Breakfast in Warrenton if you're looking for a charming, worry free, elegant, memorable wedding experience. We just returned home from our daughter's wedding at Magnolia Manor in Warrenton, NC.
It was a beautiful ceremony outdoors. Sheila and Larry did a wonderful job attending to everyone and anticipating our needs.
The grounds are just perfect for an outdoor event. Many comments were made by the guests how lovely the ceremony was and the reception dinner was outstanding.
Sheila's calm and steady personality helped to calm us during this slightly stressful time! And she LOVES her brides. What more could you ask for?

Magnolia Manor was the perfect wedding and reception venue! Larry and Sheila and their remarkable staff were amazing from A-Z! The bride and groom were thrilled beyond their wildest expectations, as were all of the family members and guests! I am the mother of the bride and can certainly vouch for the perfection of the weekend! Thank you so much for making the wedding weekend so incredibly perfect! The food, flowers, grounds, and personalized attention to detail was just amazing!

WOW, what an amazing wedding weekend!! It was far more amazing than I ever could have dreamed. The day was perfect and Sheila, Larry, their son Adam and the entire staff made everything run so smoothly! They were there when we needed them, but never intrusive - the perfect combination! The grounds looked wonderful and all of our guests would agree - I don't think a single person overlooked the beautiful landscaping and flowers or the actual venues in general. We had our wedding ceremony in front of the huge oak tree, then moved to the garden for an interim reception and finally to the reception area. Everyone was blown away by the flow and beauty of the grounds! And the whole time Sheila and Larry and their staff were there to keep everything moving perfectly!

Also, as a bride, I was so excited about getting married but I really was not so interested in all of the tasks that go along with preparing for and arranging a wedding. And Magnolia Manor was the perfect solution. The fact that they offer in their wedding package the catering, set up and tear down, flowers, cake and a DJ we had so much less on our plate to worry about. Plus Sheila acts as the wedding coordinator and truly handles anything and everything. And she's always there to answer questions and point you in the right direction (and always with a smile!).

There was not one thing I would change about our day and most of that is because we had it at Magnolia Manor! The groom and I are looking forward to going back to visit Sheila and Larry celebrate our anniversary for years to come.

Our daughter and son in law were married at Magnolia Manor Oct. 2011. Sheila, Larry and the staff were amazing. They made sure every need was addressed in a professional yet flexible manner. They were extremely responsive to any questions we had. Everything went smoothly and our daughter and son in law had a beautiful wedding. We will be forever grateful!

I was married on October 15th at Magnolia Manor in Warrenton, NC. I would have never dreamed that everything would have gone so smoothly and the day would have been so perfect! The guests loved the venue and I was extraordinarily pleased with the beauty of the location, the quality of food and Sheila's attentiveness to our guests needs. For example, we had a vegan bridesmaid who had all of her dietary needs met, a bridesmaid with a cold who was doted on by the staff and any belongings left behind at the B&B were sent to the proper people after the wedding. My hustband and I are very busy and it was very nice to have Magnolia Manor take care of the catering and florist. It was a pleasure planning with Sheila as I told her what I envisioned and she accurately produced the wedding I was imagining. The barn and pavillion are even more spectacular in the evening than are shown in the pictures on the website. Sheila has great attention to detail which is important when she is acting as the coordinator. Larry is a fantastic cook and is very honest and forthright. I am so happy I chose them as the place to have my wedding.

My husband chris and i got married at Magnolia Manor Oct 1st 2011!!!! i have nothing but great things to say about Larry and Sheila... They made our weekend very relaxing and fun for all of our family and friends! And to top it off the food was amazing the whole weekend! Sheila, Larry, and the staff at Magnolia Manor went above and beyond to make our wedding weekend the most amazing weekend of our lives. Words can not express how beautiful and effortless everything was! From top notch food to the atmosphere and most importantly Sheila and Larry everything was perfect! It was a fairy tale come to life! Magnolia Manor will forever be a place near and dear to our hearts. Larry and Shelia made our wedding day just how I always dreamed it would be! They know exactly what to do and how to do it. Shelia even came to the church to direct the wedding before heading over to the plantation. Every single guest told me how amazing the food was and that the atmosphere was perfect! It was definitely the best day of our lives! I couldn't ask for more. Thank you Larry and Shelia! I will be hosting something else at magnolia manor in the near future. It was awesome!

My husband and I knew that we wanted to have a very small outdoor wedding; I knew the minute I walked though the doors of Shelia and Larry's beautiful home that this was the place for us. Our wedding was a very small weekday wedding with only our parents and my brother in attendance. We loved spending time with our parents on the front porch watching the hummingbirds in the mornings, spending the afternoons playing horseshoes and swinging on the huge rope swing, and just being away from the hustle and bustle of the city and our busy lives.

Our ceremony was beautiful under the oak tree, the southern dinner was delicious, the entire staff was very pleasant and attentive, and breakfast the morning of our wedding and the morning after was probably the best breakfast I've ever had! We are so thankful for finding Magnolia Manor, Shelia and Larry made everything so easy- giving us advice for the ceremony and reception dinner while also using our suggestions.

I couldn't have asked for more on my wedding day!!! Magnolia Manor was amazing. The house is surrounded by massive oak and magnolia trees with an old carriage barn for your reception. We were married in the pecan orchard. This place has so much character!!! The house is historic and very impressive. The best part is you get five bedrooms in the house Friday through Sunday…I loved being about to stay at the BB&B because it made my wedding into a weekend affair. It cut down on the stress and I got to spend so much more time with everyone. Sheila and Larry are great!! The breakfast she makes every morning is to die for! Just perfect... wish I could do it again!!!! : ) Make sure you visit this place you won’t be disappointed!!

I loved having my rehearsal dinner, wedding, and reception at Magnolia Manor Plantation! I can't imagine having done it any other way. Sheila and Larry Carver, the owners, are WONDERFUL people and made so much happen for us that wouldn't have been possible any other way. The wedding package was worth so much more than we paid and Sheila and Larry always found a way to make things wonderful and memorable for us and our guests. It is truly a magical place and my guests LOVED the venue. I can't say enough positive things about Magnolia Manor.

Magnolia Manor was the perfect place for our wedding. Sheila and Larry were great and we had a very special time. My family came from Europe to be a part of the wedding and, despite a language barrier, everything was so simple and easy due to the care of Sheila and Larry. When I first fell upon Magnolia Manor Plantation's website, I was intrigued at the beautiful location - however, when I arrived at this magical place, it took my breath away!!! I knew right away; this is the place that I want to get married at and share an entire weekend with those closest to my heart. My husband felt the exact same way! Sheila and Larry sealed the deal with their warm, caring, attentive hearts. They made our wedding weekend something out of a fairy tale and helped create memories to last a lifetime!

Magnolia Manor was the perfect place for my wedding. I wanted an outdoor wedding that was very exculsive and private. The bed and breakfest on the very many acres of land was beautiful. Shelia is the wedding planner and she takes care of practically everything. Even the things I did not tell her I wanted or for her to take care of she did, like another bouquet so I could keep mine. Overall the wedding was beautiful because of the location and because of the attention to detail Shelia gave to my wedding.

The rooms are so special for guests and the breakfast was amazing. So many places to take a relaxing walk and hide away before everything gets busy. Every detail from the rehearsal dinner and wedding day food to the twinkle lights smiling in the barn while we danced were just perfect. I knew I could relax b/c everything was taken care of. Thank you for making our special day so amazing. We will remember it forever!

Sheila Carver was the best wedding director I could have hoped for. She did everything from laying out the flow of the reception to picking out cake flavors and designs to choreographing the ceremony. I just simply could not have done it with out her. I had a great amount of stress leading up to the event because our wedding venue and reception were outdoors. She provided a backup plan and reassuance although we ended up not needing it!! Overall, Mrs. Carver and her helpers, were friendly, helpful, and calm. Myself, my husband, and especially our guests were absolutly floored at the results!! Highly recommend her for peace of mind and overall effect!!

Our weekend wedding was an incredible experience that family and friends still mention each time we get together. Magnolia Manor really set the bar! Attention to every detail from the fresh pressed antique linens to the unbelevable breakfasts. Our ceremony and reception were magical enjoyed by all in attendance.
My flowers for myself and wedding party were more than I ever dreamed and the carriage house became magical wrapped in twinkle lights and candles! Sheila and Larr and staff were there for my friends, family and I every step of the way! Staying in the historical manor house was a memory for a lifetime. Every bride should be so lucky!

Magnolia Manor Plantation was the perfect place for our wedding. It provided a relaxing, yet elegant atmosphere for us and our guests. The food and the wedding cake were both really good. Larry and Sheila were wonderful hosts and made us feel very comfortable in their beautifully restored home.

Everything was so wonderful!!! First, I didn't need to plan too much: they take care of everything. Just give them ideas, pictures, of what you want and they take care of putting it together. No need to worry about florist, caters, minister, dj... they provide everything for an all inclusive price so you know for sure what your budget is. the staff is awesome! The house is beautiful. The food was great, cooked on location so it taste better. I can't find one thing that I didn't think was perfect! We actually had a perfect wedding without any glitches, what more can I ask for?

I chose Magnolia Manor Plantation because of the outdoor location, but I had no idea I was planning my fairytale wedding! It truly was more beautiful and amazing than I ever expected. I only gave a few of my preferences and Sheila (the innkeeper and planner) rolled with it to go above and beyond. Staying the weekend there was stress-free and so easy on both families. Breakfast was also awesome! All the guests had an amazing time and my nephews still ask me about going back to swing on the rope swing and run through the pecan orchard. A true southern experience, from the wonderful food cooked for the rehearsal/wedding reception to the guests, some in their southern belle hats and others dancing barefoot on the floor! Did I mention the horse-drawn buggy? I could talk for hours. Such a special place for such a special day. Highly recommended!

My wedding at Magnolia Manor was the wedding of all weddings. I knew the first time I walked the grounds that was the place I wanted to get married. The huge oak tree made a very special and beautiful back drop to my wedding. When I was standing up there in front of everyone looking back and watching my beautiful bride walking through the back gardens it looked to me like something that belonged in the Southern Living Magazine (wedding addition). It was a wedding that I will never forget. Larry and Sheila made sure that every request we had no matter how big or small was taken care of.

Magnolia Manor was the perfect Southern setting for our wedding!!! Larry and Sheila, the innkeepers, were SO great to work with, and if we had to do it all over again, we would not have changed a thing! It was the weekend of a lifetime!

This was the absolute perfect place for our dream wedding. Who wouldn't love to get married outside under the shadow of a historic manor house with enough room for all your friends and family? This property provides so much flexibility for a small and large wedding. Ours was on the little larger size, but Larry and Sheila had it all covered. Our reception was set up in front of the house within the beautiful circular drive while the ceremony happened in the rear of the house. We had a grand introduction as we entered the reception through the beautiful manor house. Truly memorable. You could also house the whole party in the Beautiful Carriage house or get married in the breathtaking pecan grove. If options really aren't what you are looking for in a wedding venue than Magnolia Manor is for you as well. Larry and Sheila have done a good number of weddings so that they can take care of everything to make your engagement a lot less stressful. Answer a few questions and then show up for the most memorable weekend of your relationship. Honestly this is an amazing place to get married, have a memorable party, and have no regrets looking back.

Just a little less than an hour from Raleigh, Warrenton's Magnolia Manor Bed and Breakfast is a gracious, romantic, celebration-perfect location to bring your family and friends together to begin your marriage! My husband and I loved working with Sheila and Larry - flexible and gracious - and their house staff, who were pleased to help with every aspect of making our wedding day wonderful! I recommend this location to any bride who wants to please her mom, dad, mother-in-law, father-in-law, groom, AND herself on one of the most wonderful days of her life!!

Larry and Sheila provided the exact atmosphere we needed and were so very helpful through the entire process. Our memories of Magnolia Manor are among our most precious. We will return there.

My wife and I looked at several different venues before selecting Magnolia Manor Plantation for our special day. I am so glad that we found it. It was truly magical. Our families counldn't stop talking about how beautiful the house was. Everyone kept asking "how did you found out about this place". We got married under the big old pecan trees. The place was perfect. Sheila and Larry and their staff couldn't be more accomadating. It was almost Like we had gotten married at my own parents house,we felt so at home there. Looking back on my whole wedding experience, I think it was my second best decision, (The first was my choice in brides). I wish there was a way to give them 6 stars! The food, the fire, the family, the firends, the plantation house, the carriage house, the reception, Denise & Lynn, the GIANT rope swing, the magnolia trees, the silo bar.....AAA+++++

Magnolia Manor is a lovely place for a wedding, especially if you want an amazing outdoor wedding and reception. They even have everything covered in case it rains, every brides fear. Since my husband and I live in FL and are from NC, I planned my wedding from Florida, organizing everything with the owners online and on the phone. Sheila got everything exactly the way I wanted, I didn't even see my flowers until the day of the wedding. The food was simply divine. We opted to stay at the Manor for the weekend with some friends and the breakfast they made rivals the kitchen of Paula Dean. Take my advice and book the rooms with your wedding, it's truly worth the price.

I highly recommend Sheila and her staff at Magnolia Manor, along with the DJ she hired for us, Allan. I sent Sheila pictures of what I wanted for the cake, flowers, etc. and it all came out even better than I pictured it. The breakfasts at the Manor were delicious, and being there all weekend allowed my family and my groom's family to spend some time together.
My ceremony didn't turn out exactly as I'd hoped because it had to be moved indoors at the last minute due to rain. The staff at Magnolia Manor moved everything into the reception space. I was really impressed with the reception venue. In fact, I feel our plan B was better than most peoples' plan A. One thing I learned from my wedding day is that if you hire the right people, when things go wrong, they still find a way to make it work for you.

It was just spectacular.!!! The house, the yard, the food...it was everything that my daughter had wanted. Everything was taken care of without delay. What a wonderful experience for me, as the mother of the bride. Well worth the time, effort, and cost!!!!

We were worried about finding a wedding venue that would combine a wedding coordinator with a beautiful location that wouldn't bury us in cost and restrictions. My husband and I wanted to have a fun wedding that celebrated our love and the families that raised us. The first thing that Sheila told me was that she and Larry wanted us to have the wedding We wanted, so they remained flexible yet helpful throughout the process. I had a million ideas and Sheila helped me to focus our theme while remaining realistic about the logistics of having an outdoor wedding.

We got the manor for the weekend. We had Italian for the rehearsal dinner on Friday which was delicious and my bridesmaids are still talking about the amazing breakfasts. We brought in hair and make up, and the cake (as my husband had a favorite bakery he wanted to have), but we did the flowers and food with the Manor. The food was delicious, we had pork and chicken BBQ, macaroni and cheese, coleslaw, and banana pudding. The flowers were the only area that didn't exceed my expectations. The bouquets were smaller than I anticipated, but I truly think it was a fluke. Larry and Sheila added a hayride and bonfire to our night, which everyone loved, and no one even thought about the flowers.

We returned to MM for my sister-in-law's wedding and the flowers were gorgeous! The DJ at our wedding was great and our family and friends danced into the night. Three years later, We still receive compliments on our wedding, and we attribute this to Larry and Sheila's kindness, their ability to keep everything on schedule, and their realization that this was the biggest day of our lives, and that it should be in our vision, not restricted by a list of required vendors and rules.

Magnolia Manor is a wonderful template venue for any couple who want to have a relaxing wedding that represents what they love about each other. It was worth every penny and I would gladly recommend it to anyone.

Everything was wonderful at Magnolia Manor! It was completely stress free planning. The DJ is amazing and keeps everyone having a good time, flowers were beautiful, cake and food was delicious. We could not have asked for a more perfect wedding weekend. The only negative was that the groomsmen weren't told which side to seat the guests on, so make sure you let them know before hand; I didn't know about it until I saw my video. Also, you have to let the owners know if you want reserved seating for the bride and groom and wedding party. I highly recommend Magnolia Manor if you are looking to have a perfect wedding!

Shiela is great and follows your idea. I came prepared to each meeting with lists and she took notes. She was always open to setting up meetings if I felt it necessary. She has good local contacts with vendors which can make things easier. Overall, good experience. If it rains, however, it isn't the best venue. They do work with a church down the road which is available in bad weather if you don't mind a church wedding. They are constantly updating the venue to make it better for every bride. The pictures online don't do the venue justice. It is gorgeous in real life and everyone asked me how I found the place. We needed a chuppa and Larry built it for us before the wedding. It was great. I didn't lift a finger on my wedding day. Plus the food was incredible. Everyone was impressed. Especially my husband and me. I would recommend this venue to anyone wanting a unique southern wedding.

Sheila and Larry have a beautiful home and the grounds made for the perfect weekend wedding. We had mainly out of town guests and everyone loved being outside and the whole atmosphere. Sheila catered to the special needs of my family and really took special time to get to know us. Larry's BBQ pork is out of this world, better the the PIT in Raleigh as some of my guests told us. Sitting on the porch in the mornings and our nice breakfast outside before all the craziness of the day was so wonderful. It was everything we could have hoped for.
