ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! From the first time we visited Charleston and Magnolia Plantation, we knew that this was the place that we wanted to get married! It is organic and really embodies what Charleston is about! Jessica Cruz at Magnolia Plantation was a world of help, whether it was taking us on the golf cart and showing us each venue, or answering all my emails, or taking my dress, my mom and me around to get my bridal portraits done! Magnolia Plantation is the perfect place for a wedding and we are truly blessed to have Magnolia in our lives forever!!

Couldn't have been more pleased from the moment we reached out to Jessica C. at Magnolia. She was surprisingly helpful, genuine, caring, sweet — very accommodating for all of our questions. For a Charleston wedding, the price was extremely competitive (we booked for a Friday evening to save some money); the venue itself was absolutely beautiful. We booked the Conservatory, which was a perfect setting for our reception with ~50 guests. If you're at all considering stopping by the Magnolia Plantation I urge you to act on your curiosity!

Jessica at Magnolia Plantation was absolutely delightful to work with. We were doing long distance planning mostly via email (having recently moved away from Charleston), and she was very easy to get in touch with and responded to everything promptly. Even though she does not officially coordinate your wedding, she & her team were able to help organize much of our wedding and made sure everything ran smoothly day of, even when we had rain up until half an hour before the outside wedding! She is also very knowledgeable about other vendors in Charleston and can assist with any of your needs.
The price of the venue is very reasonable, particularly for it being located in Charleston, such a wedding location and the additional help we received on top of *just* the venue was amazing. Great value.
The Conservatory was perfect in size and absolutely beautiful for our small (60 guests) wedding. We are so thankful we chose this venue! We would highly recommend it to anyone.

We loved out Wedding location. We got married at the white bridge lawn and the reception followed with a cocktail hour on the Plantation house veranda and then we added a tent behind the house for dinner and dancing. Jessica was very helpful with setup and planning. We were able to get all of our vendors in on time and efficiently. The house was absolutley beautiful and the surrounding gardens made for some unbelievable pictures. Our guests were "enchanted" and we are so happy we chose Magnolia Gardens

The Magnolia Plantation was beautiful. We had both our ceremony and reception at the Carriage House with the ceremony right outside under a big oak along the Ashley River. The location has so much natural beauty that you really do not have to do much to enhance it for your wedding, which helps to cut down on cost. If you are flexible on your days, it is cheaper on a Friday or a Sunday. Great location and highly recommended!

We were so excited when our daughter, who lives in Washington DC, decided to get married in Charleston,SC, where we were married twenty eight years ago. She had a long list of choices for her reception and after much research and deliberation chose Magnolia Plantation. We opted for the Veranda (they have two choices) and we are so glad we did!! Not only did we get the veranda, but the back lawn, and the White Bridge lawn as well. I could go on and on, but basically we had the cocktail hour on the White Lawn Bridge (breathtakingly beautiful), the dinner on the Veranda (again so beautiful) and dancing on the back lawn. Our point of contact at Magnolia was Jessica Cruz. She was a wonderful source of information and available to me whenever I needed her, which was critical since I was doing the coordination from Colorado. We were beyond satisfied with the service and the setting couldn’t have been better. We would whole-heartedly recommend Magnolia Plantation for a wedding reception location. Thank you so much Jessica for helping to make our daughter's wedding such a huge success. Sincerely, Col. and Mrs. Paul C. Walker USAF, RET

I had my August 2011 wedding at the Carriage House at Magnolia Gardens. I really can't say enough good things about it. Jessica Cruz, the events director, is easy to get ahold of, very professional, and answered any questions I had in a very timely manner. Even though there was a wedding at the Carriage House the night of my rehearsal, Jessica helped provide a different area of the plantation for me to hold my rehearsal. I absolutely loved having my wedding at Magnolia. Would not have done it anywhere else.

Jessica was a wonderful help in every aspect! I had no worries that day because Jessica was such a great help. If the ceremony will be outside and you do hire the bug man (which I highly recommend) don't forget to think of the location the pictures will be taken. Get with your photographer too if you don't know. The bugs drove my flower girls crazy which in turn limited our full family and full bridal party photos. Other than that the carriage house and lawn were absolutely perfect!

This is a one of the most beautiful plantations in Charleston. Apart from it's beauty, Magnolia is willing to accommodate you in almost any way possible. All staff is very helpful and friendly and Jessica the events coordinator is AWESOME! We highly recommend this location to anyone looking to have a wedding in the area. Prices are much more reasonable than other venues in the area and you are not tied down to using specific vendors.

Magnolia was an absolutely PERFECT place to have our wedding. Jessica was very helpful and took care of things for us, even contacting the vendors directly when they needed to sign contracts with the venue. The setting was fantastic. I would recommend Magnolia to any bride in the Charleston area without hesitation! :)

Absolutely beautiful place for a wedding. Our wedding reception was held in the Conservatory with the ceremony on the School House Lawn. It was worth every penny spent. Jessica Cruz was the person who worked with us and she was absolutely amazing!!! I would recommend Magnolia Plantation & Gardens to any bride looking for a breathtaking place to have her wedding.

The Carriage House was a beautiful setting and their staff made it easy.

This was the perfect place for our wedding. The event coordinator was extremely responsive and easy to work with. After I booked the plantation, the event coordinator left, and a new person took over. So I had an opportunity to interact with many different staff members, all of them kind and helpful.
The setting is unbelievably beautiful, no matter where you are on the plantation. The setting and the service were perfect.

The staff at Magnolia Plantation was incredible to work with...They truly care about their guests and it shows in their service. I had to change my wedding date about 6 months into my planning process and their willingness to work with me through my dilemma was nothing short of gracious. Spectacular people, spectacular venue, spectacular view from the Carriage House!

I had my July 30th wedding (2011) at the Carriage House. Jessica Cruz, the sales director, is an amazing woman and so pleasant to work with. She bent over backwards for us. On the day, we had a 20 minute downpour at our outdoor ceremony which cut the power for a few hours. Jessica worked nonstop to get it back for us, and it returned just in time for dancing! The carriage house is so beautiful, just like every other aspect of Magnolia Gardens. My husband and I did our portrait session together in June, and that was also a wonderful experience. I can't praise Magnolia highly enough - thank you for everything!!! If it weren't for your preferred vendors list, I wouldn't have had the best of everything for my special day. My Sailor and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts :)

We were looking for an ethereal venue and we found it at Magnolia plantation. Their English gardens were absolutely perfect and made for some stunning photographs. Our guests loved the location as well. It was raining right up until the wedding, but the staff was able to help and get the lawn dried enough that we could still have the wedding outside.

I would not have wanted to have my wedding anywhere but Magnolia Plantation. I felt that it was worth spending a couple thousand dollars for this venue was worth it, although be aware that this is all you are paying for with Magnolia-- the location. They do not include ceremony chairs, tables, or any rental items whatsoever. They also do not have an onsite kitchen, so choose your caterer wisely. I found Jessica Cruz to be helpful and professional from start to finish in the wedding planning process. Although I was planning my Magnolia wedding on the veranda from over 600 miles away, she was helpful and even helped the day of the wedding to make sure I got down the aisle on time. I highly recommend Magnolia for your wedding. It was beautiful.

This site made our wedding! It was definitely the most amazing back drop for a wedding. People have not stopped talking about the location and the Carriage House specifically. The venue did a great job working with us and providing all the information we needed to help make our wedding absolutely perfect! It is a little pricey compared to other venues we looked at but it was well worth every dollar spent.
GUEST

What a spectacular venue. Great weather of course helped a lot. Just lovely, fabulous spot.
GUEST

Magnolia was a wonderful setting for our garden themed wedding. The event coordinator was extremely professional and very sweet. Our guests were granted entry prior to the ceremony to tour the gardens, this made the trip well worth it for everyone who flew in from out of town. This is not a cheap venue, but it was well worth it, I cannot wait to see the photographs. All of our guests were very impressed with the beauty of the gardens and the carriage house.

My husband and I are from Columbia, our family is from Columbia, and most of our friends are from Columbia. We did site visits at all of the big name venues in Columbia and nothing stuck out to us as being the amount of pretty we were going to require. Everything was "pinestraw and pansies" as we lovingly refer to the less than mature landscaping that is so readily available around here. I did a little research on a few places in Charleston and Magnolia was the one we decided to take a look at first. We pretty much decided on the venue as soon as we pulled down the long, spanish moss covered tree lined driveway. The atmosphere of the whole place puts you in a mood. Its so beautiful, it forces you to feel like you're on vacation. Over my 9 month planning process I visited the plantation 5 times. Once in February, several times throughout the summer and once right before our wedding in the fall. There is not a time of year where this place isn't magnificent. We chose to have our ceremony and reception at the carriage house but honestly, all 3 venues would be equally as amazing. Believe me when I say the pictures you will walk away with are 1 in a million. We love the easy beauty and elegance of Magnolia Plantation. There is nowhere else in the world we could picture our wedding taking place. All of this being said, I do have one warning. The site manager, Jessica, was less than friendly. At times, she almost came across as rude. She was knowledgeable about the venue and easy to get in touch with but very prickly. I avoided having to contact her because I wanted to enjoy my planning process as much as possible and calling her always seemed to put a damper on things.

I had my reception at the veranda and ceremony on the white bridge lawn and all my guests commented about how beautiful it was. It's really like a magic fairy land! Especially in the spring when all the flowers are blooming. The reason for the three stars on flexiblity is b/c we couldn't start setting up the veranda until 4 or 4:30 I think and we were told we could at 3 so this caused some craziness, but overall I am very glad I had my wedding at the Veranda at Magnolia Plantation!
GUEST

Magnolia is amazing and perfect for a truly Southern wedding experience. We booked the Veranda which is actually cheaper than the Barn site and much more beautiful. You get the best ceremony site- smack dab in the middle of the gardens with the white bridge in the background and then we had the cocktail hour in the front garden, which has a great view of the fields and dinner on the veranda. Dancing on the back lawn under the stars completed the look. Jessica, the coordinator, was a little rude and fake, but she is also very young and a little immature.
GUEST

Jessica- the event coordinator was AMAZING!!! As an out of town bride- 4 hours from Charleston- she helped us pick our vendors and took pictures/measurements of the venue whenever we needed it. All questions via email were answered within 24 hours with a thorough response!! I give Jessica a 12 out of 10 for sure!!!
The venue was beautiful in itself. We chose the veranda for our reception. Our guests were in love with the history of the venue and the beautiful landscaping/gardens. Our pictures turned out GORGEOUS! With many varieties of backgrounds for our pictures.
A few items to keep in consideration- the venue rental fee is reasonable, but remember to keep in consideration the costs of all rentals (the veranda does not provide tables/chairs for the ceremony or reception). Also- all decorations must be set up after 3:30PM the day of the wedding (due to house tours at the veranda site)- having family members, wedding planner or wedding party assist with set-up of decor is required- as the bride is usually unable to assist due to the allowed time being very close to the ceremony time (in our case anyhow).
All-in all I thought that Magnolia Plantation was the perfect venue for our outdoor wedding!

Magnolia Plantation is such a beautiful place. Jessica was very helpful in working with us - anything we needed we just had to ask and she would do the best she could to help us. The grounds were just beautiful, everyone commented on how lovely it was. We got married on the white bridge lawn and had our reception on the veranda of the house. Luckily for us, no one had booked the carriage house that weekend so we had it as a back up.
The only knock I have on Magnolia is that there is nothing included in the price other than securing the venue on that day. Luckily we used Hamby catering, who had a lot of the rentals that we needed.

This was the perfect place for my wedding. The people there were great to work with especially Jessica Cruz the event director. The Carriage House and it's adjoining river ceremony location was perfect. The price was good, also. The bridal room for the bride to dress was great it had a lot of room to get ready and relax! Might be a bit small for a large wedding party but for my wedding it the perfect size. Everyone involved from Jessica with the ideas and list of vendors that the Plantation recommends to the young man who made sure the outdoor torches were lit at the right time and that the fire pit was burning well for the ambiance helped to make my night spectacular. Nature itself played a big part being the perfect weather. Magnolia PLantation was a beautiful and amazing venue and I would reccomend it to anyone. Thank you!!
GUEST

We got married and had our reception on the Veranda of the Magnolia Plantation house. It was beautiful and everyone couldn't believe how "romantic" it was! The only thing I didn't like about working with Magnolia Plantations is how you have to go to an outside caterer and rental company.
GUEST

Magnolia Plantation & Gardens is a beautiful place. We used the lawn of the Carriage House for the wedding & the Carriage House for the reception. Just some minor issues with the ladies bathroom plumbing but overall a good experience.
GUEST

Magnolia Plantation is absolutely gorgeous, our wedding and reception was held at the Carriage House. The grounds were beautiful and all of our guests had a wonderful time. Being from the south it was really special to get married on such a historic plantation. We even had a couple of peacocks join us for the ceremony - they definitely added to the ambience nicely, and made the pictures even more beautiful as their vibrant colors shown in the background. Claire was great to work with, and made me feel at ease that everyone would be taken care of. I do think the cost for using the grounds is a little on the extravegant side, but over-all it was a beautiful evening and it went flawlessly.
GUEST

The location has three options for weddings and reception locations. All are beautiful. The price is comparable for the region. There is lots to do for guests that are traveling in.
