Makeup by Berit

Berit did my makeup for both our engagement photo session and the wedding. She's VERY talented at what she does! I received sooo many compliments. In the words of my "no bs" father-in-law, "You're a pretty girl, but wow, that makeup really enhanced it." I swear, he's told me that like 5 times. haha. :)

For brides who are on a tight budget (or out-of-town brides not accustomed to Southern California prices) the fees may seem a little expensive (especially if you have someone trying to convince you to just go to mall) but she's TOTALLY WORTH IT. She uses great products, my makeup lasted all night and I only had to reapply my lipstick and gloss once. I couldn't afford to pay for my bridesmaids, but she does offer a quick-over service, where the she does lips, eyes, and cheek color I believe. They just have to come with their foundation done. It's a great option if your bridesmaids are on a tight budget.

Berit's work is amazing. You can go to her website and see endless samples of bride's that she has worked with along with other professional photos. She was actually already booked on my wedding day and so she sent one of her associates - Anha Nguyen - and she did such an amazing job. I was glowing all day because of the beautiful make-up work.

Berit is amazing. I did two trials with her because I was so unsure of the exact look I wanted for the big day. Both days, I brought photos and she also had photos. She really listened to me, which I felt was super important for someone who does not wear a lot of make-up on a daily basis. The wedding day look she created for me felt really natural. I did not feel done-up or like I had stage make-up on. It stayed on all day-- she finished my make-up at 12pm, touched up my blush and lipstick at 3:30pm. Other than that, I never reapplied anything- it last all night!

She uses stellar products (Laura Mercier, Bobbi Brown, MAC, Giorgio, Channel, etc) and is exceptional at what she does. She did the make-up of nearly all my attendants and my mom. I cannot say too many times how much we all appreciated that she listened to us when we gave her likes/dislikes of certain make-up applications (like I don't like clumpy eye lashes and I need lots of blush on my pale skin; some of the girls wanted lighter eyes, some wanted darker, etc). For a nominal fee she met us at the church and did touch-ups on everyone too.

She was simply a delight to work with her studio is a dream studio in Laguna Beach-- looks onto the hills and ocean. You feel like you are at some retreat when you are there! I'll let the photos speak for her work- I've included several in my Project Wedding bio.

I loved Berit. She's as sweet as they come. Very easy to talk to and listens to how you want to look. My makeup trial with Berit was great and I couldn't be happier with the makeup she did on my wedding day. I wanted to look my best while still looking natural and not too done-up. She did a perfect job and it lasted all night. Even through the tears! She also gives you a touch-up kit with your exact colors. Her makeup also photographs very well!!

Thank you, thank you for beautifying me on the most important day of my life. I could not stop looking at myself in the mirror, my makeup photographed so well from the candid photos many of my guests took with their cameras. My 3 bridesmaids (sisters) looked so gorgeous and everyone commented on how beautiful yet natural we all looked. My make up didn't look cakey, thick, or oily. My eyes lasted all night, even through tears of joy and so did my blush, I literally touched up one time during the entire evening and that was to put a little powder that you had given me on my nose.

Again, I am so grateful to have met you. I can't believe I actually considered applying my own makeup after all the failed make up previews with those other artists. I knew from your email that you were the one when you wrote back to me and said, if I don't like it, I wont pay, money wasn't the issue it was just the countless disappointments of people who advertise as artists and they simply aren't, and don't listen to your needs or have limited supplies. You were right I had nothing to loose giving you a shot, I knew you were the one just from those words and I am so happy I made the drive to your studio. After our session and you gave me the mirror I was stunned at how it was me, yet you had made me look amazing! That night was my wedding rehearsal and my husband, well fiance at the time, couldn't stop staring at me, he said I looked gorgeous! I can tell you are passionate about your work when you have invested so much in tools, and products and research and techniques, I went to 4 previews before you and none of them did anything remotely close to you!

I don't think I can write enough great things about makeupbyberit. Not only is she so sweet, professional, her makeup is like NO OTHER! I first met Berit when I was looking for someone to do my make up for my engagement party in Aug 2010. She knew I was from NY, and accomdated her schedule so that she could help me out that day. I have got my make up done before BUT THIS WAS AMAZING! She makes her makeup adapt to each bride, with her colors and personal touch it was stunning. So my decision was clear must need her for the wedding day :) On my wedding day, I had 2 events, morning ceremony with evening reception. Both with complete different looks. Berit had brought colored pictures of my trial, which I appreciated that she had taken the time to do that. Really showed me she really cares about her clients. My makeup was beautiful!!!!!!! even after crying during the ceremony it still looked flawless!!!!!! She really is amazing at what she does. My mother who has NEVER EVER wore makeup in her ENTIRE LIFE except for lip stick wore make up on that day. She looked stunning. Berit made her makeup pop for pictures but still accomdating my mother on having a natural look. I would 10000% use Berit again, FOR ANY EVENT. She is truly wonderful and an artist at what she does. ABSOLUTELY THE BEST!!!!!!! Berit is such an amazing make-up artist. I chose a pacakge from Berit in which she was with me the whole day of the wedding. A present to my family and my bridesmaids was professional make-up by Berit. This was the best thing I could have done. NOT only did each and every bridesmaid look wonderful the groomsmen were also touched up as well as my hubby. She did such a great job. She was there after the ceremony to make sure that I did not smear the makeup and looked perfect for the after wedding photos AND THEN I did a different look for the reception. Every girl should feel absolutely stunning on her wedding day, and Berit made me feel like a million bucks! I felt so special on my wedding day and my makeup looked flawless. Berit uses the top makeup products and can create the exact look you have visioned. She created two looks for my wedding...the first being a light and bright wedding ceremony look...and then we switched it up for the reception and smoked up the eyes for a little more drama. I loved her air brush makeup, it was super light on my skin and photographs so well! I did the all day package, which was the best idea ever. I didn't have to worry about a thing because Berit was with me until my Grand Entrance making sure my makeup looked perfect and stayed nice for all the photos. I got so many compliments and all my Bridesmaids and the Moms who got their makeup done felt so good. Not only did she spend a lot of time and energy on me, but she was their to touchup all my Bridesmaids when they wanted. I wish Berit could always get me ready in the morning because she is fabulous at what she does and is so talented! She is professional and I would recommend her for any Bride.

I used Berit's make up services for my wedding and highly recommend. I had gone through trial appointments with two other vendors and not been satisfied. I wanted to look like myself, but with an extra special touch and Berit definitely delivered. My make up was flawless, with beautiful flattering colors, and a touch of drama, AND lasted for over 12 hours. (I highly recommend the airbrush make up. Gorgeous!) I was sad to take it off at the end of the night! I truly felt like my most beautiful self. On top of that, Berit is professional, extremely knowledgeable about wedding makeup, and has a calm demeanor. Exactly what you need when you are gearing up for your big day.

Even though I was planning a wedding in Laguna Hills from New York City, somehow I was able to try out numerous makeup artists before committing to Berit's all day package. The moment I spoke to Berit, I wanted to work with her. When I had my trial, I was sold. Initially, I liked how Berit presented her website, and the variety of makeup and looks she has worked with. Also, I liked her professionalism, and her detail-oriented mentality. She made me feel that she really cared about my wedding, and was always on top of the schedules. She was very dedicated to the scheduling working out (10 bridesmaids and 2 MOB/MOG) and even called me from her vacation to discuss the complexity of scheduling. I loved conversing with her, and her laid-back personality (trust me it's important to actually like your vendors on the day of the wedding since you will be spending so much time with them). In addition, everything I needed and asked for prior to the big day, during, and after, Berit did everything in her power to help me. I would definitely recommend her to any of my friends, and will be calling her up for makeup applications for special events going forward! Berit was wonderful to work with! She made me & my bridal party feel incredibly comfortable and at ease, not to mention look SPECTACULAR on my wedding day! I have nothing but great things to say about Berit. This past year I had the honor of having my mkeup done by Berit in 3 different weddings, one of which was my own. She is incredibly talented at what she does. I had a different look for each wedding, and loved each and every one! I've always considered myself skilled in the art of doing make-up so letting someone else do my make-up was a real nail biter, I'm kind of a perfectionist! However, Berit was amazing! She is so perfesional and organized I had full confidence she would do an amazing job...and she did! For my wedding she did my make-up, my mom, and my 3 sisters! I told her I wanted everone to look really sexy and amazingly she made us all look sexy in a totally different way. Everyone looked phenomenal (I don't say that too often!) Not only was the make-up amazing but, she was SO profesional and organized. Doing 5 womens make-up is no easy task and she handled it with ease. I was such a mess that day and she totally kept me on time. She had a time frame for everyone and made sure she met it. She also gave me a touch up kit for the night which I thought was extremely thoughtful! In truth though, I didn't need it. When the night was over my make-up looked exactly the same as it did when the night began. Berit is amazing! I highly recommend her! I am truly greatful to her for makeing my big day a breeze!

Berit is an extraordinary person to work and such a talented make-up artist! Throughout the wedding planning process and at the make-up trial, Berit paid close attention to my makeup needs and what type of "look" I wanted on my wedding day. I completely felt at ease with Berit. I was even more excited about hiring Berit as my make-up artist after she did an AMAZING job for my engagement pictures. I looked flawless and polished, but not overdone for the daytime. On my wedding day, Berit did a FANTASTIC job with my make-up and make-up for the bridal party, moms, and sisters. Berit is the BEST! She did an amazing job on my 3 bridesmaids and I on my wedding day last December! Our hair and makeup lasted the entire day on the beach and into the night, even after crazy dancing!

I had the pleasure of having Berit apply my makeup on my wedding day. Everyone including myself was speechless because she made me look absolutely amazing. Berit Digerud is absolutely outstanding! During the first consultation she did a complete diagnosis of my skin and discussed in detail what I wanted for my wedding. It was truly amazing to see the step by step transformation of my face during my trial. Berit created the exact look I was hoping for......it was truly a work of art! I went to Berit for my trial make-up and she did such a wonderful job that I booked her for my wedding on the spot! She is very professional, detailed, and did an excellent job figuring out the right foundation blend and colors for my skin tone. She really puts you at ease with her experience and sense of calm. The wedding day make-up was flawless and was exactly what I envisioned. The photographs came out beautifully too! Whenever I have a special event in the future, I would definitely go back to Berit. She is excellent!

I would use Berit again! She got me to where I wanted to be and it was perfect! I had Berit with me for 12 hours and she was absolutely wonderful from beginning to end. Not only is her work fabulous, but she is also just so much fun to be around. Berit is wonderful! posted 12/7/2010 About two years ago (2008) Berit did my girlfriend's make-up for her wedding day. I was a bridesmaid in that wedding. Berit did a beautiful job on the bride and all of the bridesmaids. As a testament to how well she did, one year later (2009) another one of my girlfiends (who was also a bridesmaid in the 2008 wedding) hired Berit to do her make-up. Berit did my make-up for that wedding as well (I was a bridesmaid). Berit once again did an outstanding job. After I got engaged, one and a half years before my wedding I called Berit immediately and booked her. She did my mak- up for my engagement shoot and my wedding. She did an amazing job on me and my 9 bridesmaids as well as many of my family members. I hired Berit all day. She worked diligently from just before 8:00 a.m. until my reception started at 6:00 p.m. We even did an entire make-up change after my ceremony and before my reception. Besides being a wonderful make-up artist, Berit is a pleasure to work with. She is professional and super friendly. And... her home make- up studio is awesome, so your trial will be quite pleasurable. One of my biggest concerns for my wedding day was that everyone was on time. Berit was prompt and ready to go exactly when she was supposed to be! You can't go wrong with Berit!!!

Berit was one of the best decisions I made when it came to makeup for my wedding! She did such an awesome job, and my makeup lasted ALL day long! Berit was referred to me by my maid of honor, and lived up to every expectation I had of her. I was a little nervous to hire a makeup artist because I don't wear makeup on a regular basis. Berit listened to exactly what I wanted and made sure I was 100% happy with my trial makeup before the big day. She customized each of my bridesmaids makeup to fit their style and really made the flower girl feel special by adding some mascara and lip gloss. I still get compliments to this day, 6 months later, as to how flawless and natural my makeup looked on my wedding day. Berit is fantastic. She is professional, punctual, outgoing, a great listener and does an amazing job of making you "pop"! First and foremost, Berit made all the wedding-day arrangements as easy and simple as possible, which was great since I live on the East coast and had to plan my entire wedding from across the country. Secondly, everyone's makeup looked AWESOME!! Not only was Berit the epitome of professional, but she was also friendly and sweet! She really thought of EVERYTHING - like curling all the fake eyelashes before coming to our appointment, and having a "just-in-case" baggie filled with all the makeup necessities I needed when she was gone. Berit is an amazing makeup artist. Not only is she sweet, fun to be around and puts you at complete ease, she is incredibly talented. Berit was such a pleasure to work with on my special day. My makeup turned out exactly as I had wanted. Berit was very professional, responded quickly to e-mail and phone calls, she was flexible with my schedule, and even came to my house the morning of my wedding to do my makeup (as well as my mom's and mother-in-law's makeup). At the trial, she took notes and made changes according to what I wanted, so that I felt very comfortable knowing what to expect on my wedding day. FANTASTIC Job!!! Seriously... worth the money! I got her from my best friend ... Berit did her makeup for her wedding! I had her do my makeup for my engagement shots as a test run and was sold. For that session I went more natural but, for the wedding I wanted to pop. SHE WAS TOTALLY on the ball! Berit also really worked with me in putting together the day of the wedding schedule! Berit is amazing. She did an awesome job for me and my four bridesmaids. I rave about her to all my friends and future brides. She is flexible, honest, and just a joy to have at your side on your wedding day. She is affordable, although personally, I think that she should charge more for her work as she is that good. Berit is an amazingly talented makeup artist. I am definitely a minimalist when it comes to everyday make-up. I didn't want to be that bride that looked like a totally different person on the day of her wedding versus everyday life. I wanted to look back at my wedding pictures and see ME. She listened to my concerns and delivered. She accentuated my natural features and made me into a glamed up version of myself. I got RAVE reviews (and continue to even after the wedding!)about my makeup. Soooo glad I went with Berit!!

Berit is the most amazing makeup artist I have ever seen. Though I didn't think it possible, I felt even MORE beautiful on my wedding day than I did at the trial! I really wanted Berit to do my makeup for my wedding, but she was originally booked! I was so sad, but then the bride ended up canceling and she emailed me immediately! I was so excited because no one made me feel as beautiful as she did. She is very responsive to calls and email and very easy to work with. My husband said, "When you walked down the aisle I didn't even notice your dress.......your hair and face looked so gorgeous I couldn't take my eyes off you." My husband also cried when he saw me! I have never felt so beautiful. I got so many compliments and my makeup stayed put ALL NIGHT LONG. Berit is really talented and I'd recommend her to anyone.

Made me feel so beautiful... she actually knows what she is talking about; not just some counter-trained person. She is simply amazing and pays attention to details that I wouldn't have thought of. (Note: she was just voted one of OC's hottest makeup artists.) She takes the time to do thrings right, instead of rushing through a "job." She is a comfortable person to be around, which is also important when the stress levels are running high on the day of the wedding.

I couldn't have been happier with my makeup artist, Berit, because she was able to transform me into the most beautiful version of myself possible on my wedding day! My makeup looked natural, fresh and glamorous at the same time which was the look I was hoping for. I received so many compliments not only on my wedding day, but whenever people looked at my photos because of how great the makeup showed up on film. I was so happy with Berit's work that I went back to her a year after my wedding for a makeup application session. I wanted to learn techniques for work appropriate makeup and was so happy with the way it came out. In addition to showing me application techniques, she showed me what colors compliment my skin, so I was able to go out and buy the makeup we used in the session and have continued to use that makeup ever since! I highly recommend Berit for any of your makeup needs. She is a pleasure to work with!

Thank you, thank you for beautifying me on the most important day of my life. I could not stop looking at myself in the mirror, my makeup photographed so well from the candid photos many of my guests took with their cameras. My 3 bridesmaids (sisters) looked so gorgeous and everyone commented on how beautiful yet natural we all looked. My make up didn?t look cakey, thick, or oily. My eyes lasted all night, even through tears of joy and so did my blush, I literally touched up one time during the entire evening and that was to put a little powder that you had given me on my nose. Again, I am so grateful to have met you. I can?t believe I actually considered applying my own makeup after all the failed make up previews with those ?other artists?. I knew from your email that you were the one when you wrote back to me and said, ?if I don?t like it, I wont pay,? money wasn?t the issue it was just the countless disappointments of people who advertise as artists and they simply aren?t, and don?t listen to your needs or have limited supplies. You were right I had nothing to loose giving you a shot, I knew you were the one just from those words and I am so happy I made the drive to your studio. After our session and you gave me the mirror I was stunned at how it was me, yet you had made me look amazing! That night was my wedding rehearsal and my husband, well fianc? at the time, couldn?t stop staring at me, he said I looked gorgeous! I can tell you are passionate about your work when you have invested so much in tools, and products and research and techniques, I went to 4 previews before you and none of them did anything remotely close to you! My Wedding make up was one of my top priorities for my wedding day! I am so blessed to have found Berit. She is the most professional, kind, talented artist and it was so much fun(and stress free) to have her with us on my special day! She not only made me look amazing but my bridesmaids and mom too! We were all so thrilled. I highly recommend the airbrush makeup. She is seriously the best. This is one vendor you will be happy spending the money on for that day with no doubt that it was a good decision! Worth every penny and someone dependable you can rely on to make you feel and look so beautiful!

I planned my wedding in 3 months from across the country. Initially, I scheduled an appointment at a makeup counter where I had a trial. However, three weeks before the wedding, I decided that it would be too stressful to have my whole bridal party traipsing through Bloomingdale's, so I contacted Berit at my photographer's suggestion. She got back to me the same day, and since my wedding was on a Monday, she happened to be available on short notice. Since I was living out of state I never had time for a trial or even to meet her before the day of the wedding, but I sent her pictures of myself with and without makeup, as well as pictures of my proposed wedding makeup. We discussed the schedule of the wedding and she sent me a timeline for myself and the rest of the bridal party. When I arrived at the venue the morning of the wedding, Berit was all set up and went to work. She works quickly, but doesn't rush anything, and OH. MY. GOD. Her work is amazing. I looked like myself, but like the prettiest version of myself that I had ever seen. I looked like a celebrity/princess in the mirror, in point and shoot pictures, and in the photographer's professional pictures. I wish she could do my makeup every day, and I would recommend her HIGHLY for any special event. She also leaves a kit of the colors she uses so you can do touch ups later in the day, but the makeup really lasts. I can't wait to call Berit again the next time I need my makeup done!

Berit did a beautiful job on the make-up for myself and the bridesmaids for my wedding! She is professional and willing to provide her expertise while listening to what her clients want.

Berit was wonderful, and made me feel like a princess on my wedding day. The pictures turned out great due to her makeup. She transformed my makeup from a natural look for the church to an elegant night time makeup for the reception, which was very fun. She and her assistant were also able to handle the makeup for me, my mother, and seven bridesmaids and we still had plenty of time to take pictures and get to the 2 o'clock ceremony. I can't say enough about what a wonderful job she did!

Berit works WONDERS. I have never felt so confident and beautiful (or received SOOO many comments). She is truly professional and friendly. Berit tried a few different options to make sure it worked with me and the look I was going for. She was patient and listened to my feedback. Everyone in my bridal party looked AMAZING.

I feel so lucky to have found Berit to do my wedding make-up! Getting married outside on the beach, it was important to me to find someone who could do beachy, natural-looking make-up. I wanted to make sure I looked like myself only a "better" version :) Berit was amazing to work with and really took the time to listen to how I wanted to look on such an important day!

ok so this is not a review on Berit but Sonia Suttles who works for her. Unfortunately Berit was already booked for my wedding day but she highly recommended Sonia to me.. Sonia was very nice and did a good job on my make-up and that of my bridesmaids the only issue I had was that she took more tie then she had anticipated the day of the wedding . In her defense my bridesmaids (ahem sisters) were running a little late but she still took longer then we had planned to do everyones make-up and so we had to start taking pictures with out my MOH. Everyone looked beautiful but It was somewhat stressful to be behind. I would still recommend her since she was VERY sweet and did a really good job on the make-up... just be cautioned you might want a second person to help if you are short on time, or just schedule a good deal more time then needed on the wedding day.

I didn't use Berit herself because she was already booked for my wedding day but I did use her assistant, Sonia. She did a wonderful job on my make-up and it lasted through the night. She also did a great job with my mom and bridesmaids, they all looked beautiful!! My only complaint was that it did take a little longer then she expected to do everyones make-up, so make sure to set aside some extra time or have her bring someone else to help out. My bridesmaids were running 15 minutes behind getting to the location but then we were done about an hour later then planned...which is a lot on you wedding day!! Other then that she did a great job, everyone looked beautiful...it just took a while.

I was so disappointed! I paid extra for "travel" but Berit forgot one of her main brushes so we had to wait for her husband to bring it. Therefore it pushed timing back on everything. She spent more time on the bridesmaids, then when she got to me she was extremely rushed. In fact, she began my make up when the photographer arrived! (The make up schedule that was set, was to have me finished upon the photographers arrival). I now have plenty of pictures of my bare face, as well as my feet, as I was sitting in the make up chair. This unfortunately cost us precious photography time (and money) and we therefore lost the oppurtunity to get the beach photos we really wanted! She was "responsive" at the end when she was finished to collect her full fees and not even an apology! I didn't want to argue so I just paid. One last disappointment..the lip color. She applied a very unflattering lip color. My bridesmaids and mom even informed me. When I asked Berit why she did that color rather than what we did at the trial, she said "she thought she'd go bolder". She asked (with attitude) well what lip color do i want, i said "what we had done on the trial". I think she may not have written it down because when she put a new lip color on it still wasn't what I had before, but was tolerable. Then on the touch up kit she put the old, unflattering color in it which I didn't discover until we got to the venue- so it was too late. The bridemaids' make up did however look very nice. Good luck, not a day you want to gamble on though, which is why I gave her the ratings I did.

I have worked with Berit at the St. Regis in Monarch Beach and also at Laguna Beach wedding events. I have been extremely impressed with Berit's ability to actually create custom foundations on the spot and her passion for her work is inspiring. I look forward to working with Berit again in the very near future.

Berit is so talented words cannot even describe how great her work is, you have to see in for yourself! She is by far the best makeup artist in the LA Orange County area and she is even featured top 5 my foxla's hot list! She pays attention to details, and she is so passionate about what she does. Not only is she my business partner, she also did my makeup for my wedding! All of my bridesmaids still can't stop talking about how beautiful they looked and felt, and it's all thanks to her unique talent! Thanks again Berit I will forever be your biggest fan!
