Makeup by Melinda
Overall Rating: A
Style: Understate Elegance, can be dramatic if requested.
I used a makeup artist named Melinda Mo. She works for Chanel in Macys, and is always around the Macys' in Long Island and Queens. I just went for a trial in Manhasset and *LOVED* my makeup. (Most artists I had trials with ended up making me look like my brother in drag.)
If you prefer more of a natural, or "understated elegance" style of makeup, consider her. She's catered to many brides of different ethnicities and understands those who want "the natural look". I'm of Asian decent, and it was hard for me to find someone (even those who were also Asian) who were able to pick which features to highlight, and which ones to be toned down, so that I could be "naturally radiant".
She was very patient with me, and took alot of time trying on different colors and shades that would work for me. She also asked what other colors I would be wearing, the BM colors, colors of the wedding, style of my gown (and on and on) in order to choose the right look/feel and colors for my face. I looked like a princess, but I still felt like me.
You might be able to meet her at a Macy's in NY or LI to test colors. Her prices might vary depending on how many ppl are in your bridal party. Avg. $150 for bride, though.
