My husband and I were looking for a venue that suited both of our personalities and MLMC was perfect for us. Compared to other similar venues the pricing was incredibly reasonable. Another great thing about MLMC is that they only do one event at a time and they don’t feel like a wedding farm!
Aside from the beauty of the location, I also appreciated the vast menu offered. All of the catering is done through Truly Yours and they did a great job; the food was delicious!
After we booked, there were times that the contact person was not as timely or clear with responses to emails as I would have liked. I will say, however, that as we got closer to our wedding, correspondence was very timely, complete, and pleasant.
The day of the wedding was flawless (much in part to Orange Blossom Special Events, PLEASE check them out). We received so many compliments from our guests about how wonderful the staff was and I wholeheartedly agree. I can’t properly express the level of kindness and fine service that we were treated to. They also had the unique quality of making us feel like our wedding was really important to them even though they do many, many weddings each year.
If you are planning a wedding, you may have people tell you that it all goes by so fast and that you won’t remember anything because it’s so hectic - this was not the case for me. I remember every single moment and I credit this amazing location and the people for that. They made everything so easy and seamless so that my husband and I could just enjoy ourselves. This is what I’m most grateful for. Malibou Lake Mountain Club is now dear to my heart and I fully recommend this beautiful place to anyone looking for somewhere truly special for their wedding.

I am so happy we decided to go with MLMC for our wedding. It is this hidden gem that few people in LA have discovered. The surrounding area is beautiful, the reception room is elegant, without feeling like a big ballroom. Laura and Dan were great to work with throughout the process. Our guests LOVED the family style dinner. Unfortunately, our wedding was on a rare LA rainy day, so we had to move it indoors. However, Laura and her team set it up beautifully, and the bay windows served as a great background. We highly recommend MLMC!

We had our wedding at the Malibou Lake Mountain Club because my husband grew up at the lake and had wonderful memories of the place. He always knew he wanted to get married there and now that he did we both couldn't be happier. It's a beautiful place - what one might call picturesque. They have a lovely large hall with a big dance floor and a great serving bar for the food. The staff was friendly and helpful and Robert, the fellow who sets everything up, was a Godsend! I'd highly recommend getting married there! It will always hold a special place in our hearts!

After having scoured the greater Los Angeles area for a nice, yet affordable, wedding venue that fit my picky criteria – both stunning indoor & outdoor options, room to accommodate both the ceremony & reception at the same location, and reasonably self contained for rentals/kitchen – I was immediately enthralled when my fiancé and I visited the Malibou Lake Mountain Club at a friends’ suggestion. This renovated lodge space was not only reasonably priced, it boasted its own in-house caterer with a million delicious looking food options, allowed us to bring in our own alcohol at no charge, and had a beautiful scenic view of the Malibu Mountains outside and a sheik vintage feel inside to boot. We immediately contracted for our October 20th, 2012 wedding date.
During the planning process Laura, the site coordinator for Truly Yours Catering, was incredibly responsive to our plethora of questions and unique requests. With both of us working in the entertainment industry we wanted to have a “rock and roll” themed wedding ceremony and reception - so we did dinner entirely outdoors, turned the interior space into a VIP club/lounge with rented furniture and a real stage, and had several musical acts throughout the day, topped off with a live 5-piece rock band. Though the space does have some restrictions (sound ordinances outdoors and a hard out time at 11:30pm), the MLMC site staff, the caterer and the service personnel were extremely accommodating, friendly and professional. The banquet captain Dan was exceptionally wonderful – entertaining our guests, making sure my husband and I actually ate our incredibly delicious dinner, and assisting with last minute requests and whirl-wind 30 minute teardown at the end of the night.
We couldn’t have been happier and our guests had the time of their lives. I would wholeheartedly recommend the Malibou Lake Mountain Club to anyone looking for a unique, scenic, and affordable venue in...

When we first visited MLMC, we fell in love with the place and knew we had to get married there. Our wedding was exactly a month ago and I have to say that every step of that day went smoothly and without any interruptions...from Laura making sure that our processional was orderly to Dan making sure that my husband and I finished our dinner during the reception, we couldn't have asked for better service!! My husband and I and our guests all had an AMAZING time, I wish we could do it all over again!! I would definitely recommend MLMC to family and friends :)

The minute we saw Malibou Lake we knew it was exactly where we wanted to get married. Beautiful location, far enough from the city, and not to mention the food was amazing....And the SERVICE!!!! Everyone was so sweet. I wouldn't change a thing for the world. Planning a wedding is super intimidating but Laura made it so easy. She is very organized and really knows what she is doing. I recommend this place to everyone in the Los Angeles area, such a gem. Truly Yours Catering..thank you for the amazing food and service. My wedding was just like I had always dreamed....

We absolutely loved this venue. The grounds were beautiful, the food delicious, and the staff helpful and accommodating. The gorgeous grass area was a perfect backdrop for our ceremony and the chic vintage reception hall was a perfect fit for our overall aesthetic. Our guests commented again and again on the beauty of the place and we couldn't have been happier with our choice. We loved it!

My husband and I got married here in mid July and could not have been more pleased with our experience from start to finish. Our guests and families had nothing but great things to say about the service, staff, location, and food. We could not stop talking about how PERFECT everything was. The food and appetizers catered by Truly Yours Catering were delicious and enjoyed by everyone. The beverage service was impeccable and all of the staff we worked with throughout the process were friendly, professional, and committed to making our day special for us. We especially want to thank our captain, Dan, for his overwhelming hospitality and concern for our comfort. Everyone who spoke with him throughout the evening had nothing but fantastic things to say and it was so nice for my husband and I to sit back and relax and enjoy the day. The beautiful outside environment was gorgeous for our ceremony and cocktail hour and served as a great retreat for our guests when they needed a break from dancing. The inside reception room needed little decoration as it is so gorgeous inside already. We were SO impressed with the quality of service we received. We would also like to express our gratitude especially to Laura for facilitating a lot of the details throughout the process and making sure that everything ran smoothly….again we thought everything was PERFECT.

Loved this place. My parents were married here and so were we 30 years later. This location is absolutely beautiful. The atmosphere is gorgeous. All the pictures have incredible backgrounds with flowers, the lake, the clubhouse, all fantastic.

We were so excited when we found this venue for our wedding. It was just perfect, it has the most beautiful backgrounds for pictures and has a comfy and cozy feel in the room, The fireplace just adds to warmth of the place. We worked with Laura for all of the coordination and planning of the wedding at the venue. She was incredibly helpful and never made me feel stupid when I emailed and asked her 100 questions a day. She stayed patient and gave me the honest answers that I needed. Planning a wedding can be very confusing and difficult, especially if you have never done it before and only plan on doing it once, she helped ease all of my worries and concerns and on the day of the wedding she was just great! She helped wherever she could, when we needed bubbles placed on the chairs instead of me asking one of the groomsmen to place them she jumped on it and helped do it before I could even ask someone else. It was a wonderful day and everything went perfectly! we couldnt be happier with our wedding day!

My wife and I fell in love with the venue when we arrived. It has a beautiful backdrop in a gorgeous lake matched with a beautiful, well kept open lawn that's just simply marvelous. Laura & Roxanne were both great in terms of working with us and our vendors. They were very flexible and tried to accomodate us to the best of their abilities. The price for the venue was a steal also. We checked around many other venues before finding and deciding on this place. We're so grateful to them for making our wedding a fantastic celebration!

Malibou Lake was the perfect backdrop! I could not have been happier with the service and the venue! It was beautiful! Thanks to Laura and her staff for making it everything I dreamed about for all those months of planning! She is lovely to work with! Thank you again for a lovely wedding day!

Our wedding turned out better than we imagined. The landscape was beautiful!!!! THey really worked with us on all our special requests.
GUEST

Malibou Lake was a beautiful setting for our ceremony and cocktail hour. I felt the need to have draping inside in order to like the reception venue, but that made a huge difference and it looked great. The person I had been working with left two months before the wedding, and we never really established a rapport with the new person, but it ended up going more smoothly than we expected. Laura will get better the longer she's there, and the more she learns about the venue and rules. We hired a day of coordinator at the last minute because we realized we needed more help than we previously thought we'd need. That was a great move.
GUEST

Very affordable, accomodating and scenic location. The food was absolutely delicious. The place comes with a coordinator that will cover all basic details of the wedding. My family friends have been attending weddings in the Los Angeles area for over 20 years and most didn't know about this spot yet. They loved it and wondered why. I loved being in the underground loop as far as they were concerned. The chef also kept us on point throughout the event and made sure we ate, sat and enjoyed our wedding very often. Highely recommend Malibou Lake!

WE WERE MARRIED HERE AND IT WAS WONDERFUL. THEY ALSO REFERRED US TO VENDORS WE USED AS WELL. WEDDINGDREAMSPHOTOGRAPHY.COM WERE AMAZING AS WELL AS THE DJ THAT WAS REFERRED. FOOD WAS GREAT. STAFF WAS WONDERFUL!

We were married at the Malibou Lake Mountain Club on July 11, 2010 and I can truly say that we had a perfect day. The staff was amazing. and they made sure that we had everything we needed and and made it a stress-free day. Thanks!
GUEST

Malibou Lake Mountain Club is the best balance of quality and price! Staff is friendly and helpful. Food is great - especially the appetizers!

I got a huge discount on it since my parents are part of the club and live there. Normally it's like 4k for a Saturday wedding in the summer. But it's gorgeous and so easy. Get married on the lawn by the lake, and then go in the reception hall right next to it for dinner and dancing. The inside is all white and gray and a great neutral color to put next to your wedding colors. It only fits like 150 max comfortably though. So now giant weddings unless you want to get married on the lawn. You must use truly yours catering, but as I put in my review of them, they are awesome!

After viewing several other locations, I could not stop imagining our wedding taking place at Malibou Lake. It has everything you could want for a wedding venue... Beautiful landscaping, gorgeous surrounding scenery, large reception hall, patio for cocktail hour, bridal room, chivari chairs (included), and a professional staff. Although it doesn't allow outside caterers, Truly Yours Catering will provide everything you could want in a menu for your Malibou Lake wedding. The food was delicious and there are so many options you can add or customize. I did not have my own coordinator during the planning process, so it was a relief to know that Meredith (coordinator for Malibou Lake) would take care of many of the details for us, for example timeline, placesettings, rehearsal, etc. She was easy-going and such a pleasure to work with, often lending helpful advice for a bride-to-be who doesn't know the first thing about wedding details. It was not necessary to over-do the decor or flowers because the location is charming and absolutely beautiful as is. It is a simple and elegant venue which is perfectly accessible yet tucked privately in the hills. I highly recommend seeing this site!

Malibou Lake was the second venue we looked at for our wedding and fell in love instantly. This location is gorgeous. It's the perfect combination of a naturally beautiful outdoor landscape with a unique, rustic indoor reception hall. Another pro is getting the entire grounds to yourself so you don't have to worry about another wedding going on at the same time. There are some restrictions because it's located so close to residential properties (no outdoor amplified music except during the ceremony) but it's definitely worth it to be married in such a wonderful location.
GUEST

While we loved the location for the views and elements included, we have to rate this facility lower due to the coordinator. We ran into problems with her the entire time of planning the wedding, including the rehearsal and the day of the event. Malibou Lake is an amazing place to get married. It was nic to have the ceremony outside overlooking the lake, and the reception in the hall right there, all in the same location. But, beware of the location coordinator.

Meredith at Malibou Lake Mountain Club was fantastic. She made everything look so easy because she's such a pro. Everything was done in a timely manner and professionally. I couldn't have been happier the day of the wedding because everything went so smoothly. She was really flexible when we were running late for our rehearsal and helped me bustle my dress when I couldn't find my MOH. The food was fantastic and the grounds were immaculate. I am so glad I chose this location! Thank you!

We were married at this beautiful venue in May of 2008. We loved it the moment we saw it as it is nestled in the Santa Monica Hills, secluded from the hustle and bustle of Los Angeles. I like to think that we found a true gem here.
We partially worked with Roxy Adlesh, but then switched in the beginning of 2008 to Meredith who presently the primary contact person for this venue. Meredith was great to work with. She was efficient with responding to your inquiries, easy to work with, and helped out as much as she could on the day of the wedding. That is a huge plus as most people at venue's don't always do that.
The food was good as we chose to serve our guests via Russian style which is basically a family type of serving style. The entree's came out on modern white dishes that gave your wedding a sorta modern flair.
The only gripe I have about the place is that you aren't allowed to have any amplified speakers during the cocktail hour as the residents that live around the venue are strict about the noise. I really wanted a guitarist to perform during our outside dinner reception, but was unable to get on due to the amplified speaker reason. In the end, it worked out as we used a string quartet throughout our ceremony and dinner reception and the guests seemed to appreciate it.
On the upside, it's a very affordable venue that comes with a beautiful site! What more can you ask for?

I have photographed at this location on several occasions. It's my very favorite place to shoot weddings because it's just so photogenic! It's peaceful, private and gorgeous!

Beautiful setting, old world charm. Better for a group no larger than about 130. We had 155 people and it was starting to get a bit cramped. Because of the natural beauty of the place, you really don't need a lot of decorations and the picture opportunities are countless. I would highly recommend you bring your own wedding coordinator to keep the day flowing and to make sure the little things are all addressed so that you have a stress-free day. Also note that you do not have a lot of space to get ready and you can't get on the premises until 1:00pm on the day of your event, so plan accordingly.

My fiancee and I were really interested in this place - I emailed Roxy twice and left her a couple messages, and it took her three weeks to get back to me (on one occasion her message said she was in the office that day). I had heard from other people she can be hard to get ahold of, so we kept looking and found another place in the meantime.

This location is beautiful. Everyone at our wedding complimented us on the location and many of our LA friends were amazed such a place existed in LA.
We looked long and hard for a location and this place was so it. The reception hall is beautiful and you have the option to have an outdoor ceremony but the insurance of being able to have an inside ceremony should the rare bad weather hit.
Roxy was awesome to work with. She has so much experience with weddings that she was able to give good advice. And listened to what we wanted for the vision of our wedding. And a big thing was she didn't make us feel like our wedding wasn't important even though it wasn't some huge wedding with millions of guests. Her and her staff really helped on the day of and made sure we knew what was going on and helped direct people. It was as if I had my own day of corrdinator which really made the day easier for me.
The food was awesome and everything we hoped for. Everyone got plenty to eat and seemed to love everything. We didn't want a sit down dinner and they really accomdated us. We also go the cappachino bar which was a HUGE hit with our caffine junkie friends.
The staff was so friendly and pleasant. When we were collecting our stuff to leave for the night they were wishing us well which seemed very sincere.
To top it off, Roxy took pictures through out the night and toward the end handed me a CD of pictures so I could see them the next day, since we all know that professional photographs take much longer.
I would recommend this location and Truly Yours to anyone who is planning a wedding. Beautiful location and wonderful people to work with.

I'll be married at the Malibu Lake Mountain Club in Agoura Hills on March 24, 2007. I have been working with Roxy from Truly Yours Catering who also coordinates events for this location. This is the one and only location my Fiance and I ever looked at. It's perfect for us in so many ways. The beautiful sprawling lawn overlooking the lake is a perfect setting for the outdoor ceremony. The reception room is beautiful with the fireplace & bay window. So far Roxy has been a pleasure to work with, she answers your e-mails / calls promptly & is very good about getting an answer to any of your questions.
I would have to say that the most prominant feature of this location, is in fact the location. It's nestled in the hills and requires a beautiful, scenic route to arrive there. By the time you reach the Lake Club, you'll forget that LA is only 15 minutes away!

Their food was delicous, the site was beautiful and perfect for our 130 person wedding. We had our ceremony outdoors on the lawn and the reception inside. It was a beautiful perfect day, without a bump in the road.

Malibou Lake was the perfect reception venue, given the look and feel that we wanted for our wedding. Itâs nestled in the Santa Monica Mountains, so you have great views of the naturally beautiful landscape with an outdoor set-up. The clubhouse has a rustic feel to it, which lends itself to a very warm and relaxed atmosphere for receptions. While I highly recommend Malibou Lake as a venue, I have some reservations about its site coordinator, Roxy Adlesh, based on my experiences with her towards the latter part of the planning process (which is also the most crucial). She became rather difficult to get a hold of and was disorganized. It helped that I kept records of every conversation we had, because I found myself having to refresh her memory on things weâd agreed upon and even had to call her attention to some discrepancies on the final invoice (e.g., being charged twice for the bar set-up fee). On the day of the wedding, there were some set-up issues that my behind-the-scenes helpers had to work with because Roxy seemed to have forgotten what we discussed about the lay-out. To be fair, she was wonderful to work with in the beginningâ¦very pleasant and upbeat. It may be that she couldnât manage the workload on her own, as she seemed to be running things solo for Malibou Lake.

Malibou Lake was GORGEOUS. If we used their caterer (Truly Yours), we got a fabulous pricing package with everything included. By everything, I mean parking, security, location reservation, ceremony chairs, reception tables, chairs, linen, utensils, etc. The whole thing! You could pay extra for special requests or fancier versions of things, but their selection of "in stock" items was so versatile that it wasn't necessary. And again, the location is BEAUTIFUL. It is a reasonable drive from Los Angeles, and a short drive from the valley, Malibu, or Topanga, and yet it feels like you are out in the country. We had the ceremony outside, on their beautiful lawn with a view of the lake, and the reception in the hall, which had a great dance floor and plenty of space for our large wedding. The porch was perfectly located (in the shade!) for cocktails and receiving.
We love working here, it's a very charming property with lake views, gorgeous lawns, a "lodge" feel for the reception hall, great catering and staff.
I love this location
