Photos are the visual memory of your big day and Maren McGowan captured each moment with skill and detail. In preparation for the event she sat down and planned with my (at the time) fiance and I and helped us to put together an excellent photo package that not only captured each moment of magic, but also fit within our budget.
Maren's style is unique and her care iwth her photo choices add to the value of her photography. She uses film and that means that there aren't 500,000 photos where you might get 1 out of 1000 good photos. Each photo is special and thoughtful.
I chose Maren for her sense of style in photography. I love that she can use both mediums of black & white and color with equal skill. I truely felt beautiful that day and now looking at the photos, I can feel the excitement of those moments.

I had purchased a piece from Maren's collection which hangs in my office so I was very excited to have her shoot my wedding. The photo's she took were stories in themselves, more pieces of art and moments in time than the standard posed and predictable photography. I was very hard to choose the best ones with so many choices! I love the usage of black and white and color and the different styles of film. I also found Maren extremely professional and very calming. I would highly recommend her, she seems to care very much about doing an extrodinary job.

I’ve been taking photos since I was very young...I have always loved the beauty of a timeless moment captured on film. I love working with people and I want you to have fun with your photography at your wedding so you enjoy your photos. I am like one of your guests, a witness to all those special moments as they unfold naturally...seizing the opportunity to document those cherished memories. That is what my photography means to me: capturing life without interference or manipulation, a frame of that moment in time.
100% FILM! I photograph all weddings on film because I love how it looks and I think it is important to archive those precious memories. Yes, I use digital technology as well. My negatives are scanned, so I can post them on the internet for viewing and also provide digital files to clients.

It is beautiful and timeless It is immediately archival: We can still make prints from negatives that are 200 years old and counting. Your photographs are heirlooms. It will always be “readable” or scannable: There is no dependance on digital media that will “crash” or be obsolete in the near future. It provides innumerable options...now and in the future: Technology continues to improve our ability to scan and reproduce your negatives and other artwork. Digital images will only be as good as the digital equipment they were captured with today.
