I purchased my Jenny Packham wedding gown here in March 2009 for my October 2010 wedding. I fell in love with the dress when I saw it in a magazine but, as a Seattle local, couldn't find a bridal salon in my area that carried the designer. I shopped around to 4 salons locally before deciding to take the plunge and visit SF (where my inlaws live) to check out the dress. Marina is a very upscale boutique admist top quality, beautiful shopping in downtown SF (it's above Gumps). I went for a Jenny Packham trunk show and tried on other dresses before deciding on the one I'd fallen in love with. Even though I was nervous, I bought the dress then (for the trunk show discount) and never regretted the choice. I went back 2 times for fittings and it was easy to coordinate a fitting when I was coming back in town (usually for a family event, so not chosen on weekends when they specifically had appointments available). I also purchased coordinating earrings there which complimented my gown perfectly and weren't too expensive (around $150, if I remember correctly). The fittings went well and it fit like a dream. I forgot to ask for the spare beading on my dress, which I would have liked to have just in case (but didn't need to use, thankfully). The dress was shipped to my house a month before the wedding (a little tight for my taste) and I did have to steam it myself the day before because shipping/storage wrinkled the silk chiffon. One recommendation -- I'm an active dancer and never jumped around during my fittings. At my wedding, the very top of my dress (eyehooks) did come apart and had to be quickly refastened by my husband during the reception. No harm, but if I had noticed before, I bet Marina could have figured out a solution for me to keep it together.Overall, I recommend Marina if you're looking for top quality service and a brand that's not carried elsewhere. They're great.

I really enjoyed my shopping experience here, although I bought my dress from a different store. It has a wonderful ambiance - full of light and surrounded by all the absolutely gorgeous dresses. Yes, the designers they carry are very high end and therefore have correspondingly high price tags. However, if you want a special experience, this is certainly one of the best places to get it in San Francisco.

Had heard from several friends that this was a great place to start looking for wedding gowns. I had no idea that this would also be the last place I looked. I chose a Badgley Mischka bridal gown...and believe it or not, it was the first gown I tried on! Alterations were reasonable and the staff is amazing. It was worth the drive and I would highly recommend if you are comfortable spending a certain amount. The dress selection is expensive but worth it.

I had an ok experience with Marina Morrison. I was only in town for one more day before I had to leave the country on a long trip and stopped in without an appointment. The woman there was a bit rude and didn't seem very interested in talking to us at all. We walked in, were ignored, waited and then left without anyone caring. Went to Haute Bride and a few other salons afterwards and even though we didn't have appointments there either, they were much nicer to us. I finally found my dress (which I loooove) at Amy Kuschel.

They have a huge selection of dresses, but are pretty pricy. The store is located just above gumps in SF. It took about 8 months to get my dress ordered and fitted...but it was well worth it!!!

I was late in gown shopping and when I found my dream dress at MM, I was told that I have to order that specific day before I have to pay for expedite fees. I did feel pressured to decide on the spot but I LOVE the dress! Other than this, the whole experience was amazing. The consultant was absolutely helpful and very knowledgeable. She knew exactly where to tweak and worked with the designer to get it changed. When the dress arrive, it fits perfectly and the only thing is to hem it to my height with heels. The customer service was amazing.
BTW, this is one of the place where you can walk the whole place and pick up the dresses that you are interested in. It has high ceiling and spacious and with good natural light.

I went to every place in the city to get a gown. You would think that given all the white dresses on the carpet I could find something ready made. This place is the one of two place that actually carried ready to wear gowns in a 12/14 in silk (sorry David's Bridal I just can't wear polyester to my wedding). Considering that the average woman wears a 14 and bridal gowns run small I can't believe more places don't stock larger gowns to try on. Their selection was totally beautiful they gave me an appointment right away. The service was professional and awesome especially since by this point I was less than one week before the wedding. (I had purchased two gowns previously only for them to arrive wrong by no fault of mine (wrong color and fit) and they had to be returned.) So birde to be melt downs they handle very well. The only reason I don't give them 5 stars is because the cost for alterations was huge and they insisted on making an alteration , adding boning, that ended up being uncomfortable, prjected my breasts out too much and was and unsightly because boning always bends. One of the repairs they made to the dress was done so hastily that it broke again after having the dress on for 10 minutes. I love their dresses but I am not sold on their alterations person, who incidentally is an employee of the shop but rather a separate business. It seems as if the alterations should have been included in a $3700 dress by someone accountable by the shop. However they saved my butt at the last minute and I looked gorgeous in an original looking dress in the most beautiful silk gauze imaginable. It wasn't your typical bride's dress. Think Wilhelmina Slater on Ugly Betty or a Greek Goddess.

This is the nicest bridal boutique in SF with the highest-end dress selection. I was lucky enough to have found my dream dress made by Jenny Packham at Marina Morrison's sample sale, so i scored a couture piece at a fraction of the price (but even this was quite a bit above my original budget!). Since I went to the sample sale, the service was just ok, as they kind of leave you to your own devices to find a gown and they restricted use of the main mirrors. The shop is so beautiful though, and it was the best dress shopping experience out of all the 5 places I went to, so I would still recommend it.

The best bridal salon in the City. Everyone made me feel so special and beautiful. The dresses are beautiful and the service is very sumptious (tons of appropriate oooohs and awwwws). I found my perfect Carolina Herrara wedding gown there! Prices are high, but the experience lovely.

This story has a very intimate ambiance, the fitting space is just gorgeous with plenty of natural light. This store carries a very selective collection of designers, I would characterize it under Modern Classic. I went there initially searching for a Reem Acra Spring 2007 gown, however fell in love with my Ulla Maija instead. The staff there are very knowledgeable and generally pleasant to work with. If you schedule an appointment you typically get to try on 8-10 gowns. The gowns there are $3500 and up, however, you will have much more choices if your budget is $4500 and up. Also their alternation cost is on the high end ranging from $450-$700. Some of the designers they carry are: Carolina Herrera, Elizabeth Filmore (My #2 choice, it was a tough decision), Liancarlo, Peter Langner, and Ulla Maija. Will update more on the service after my first dress fitting!
The fitting experience is wonderfully smooth, they are profesional and detail oriented. I love my experience and will recommend this store to any bride to be!

The service and selection are fabulous, if you have a solid budget to work with. There are no dresses for under $3,000, but there's a large selection. They have a sample sale twice a year - two of my friends ended up purchasing their dresses at a large discount. The downside to the sample sale is that you have to buy your dress that day, and you have to bring it home with you.
Otherwise, they keep your dress until the last minute and get it all prepped for your wedding day. If you're looking for Reem Acra dresses, this is the place to go!
I had 2 fittings - at the first one, my mom noticed that some of the beadwork on my Reem didn't line up at the back seam, so the MM seamstress fixed it for me - she did a beautiful job. My alterations were about $450 after they bustle, the reworking of the beads, and taking in the bust about 2 inches...pricey, but worth it. I've seen other friends' dresses from cheaper alteration places, and you can definitely tell because the beading doesn't lay flat, or the hem is the wrong length. I had a huge layer of crenolin underneath that the seamstress helped to turn into a removable piece so that I could actuall sit at the reception. Fabulous service and great options - just make sure you have the budget for it!

They definitely have a beautiful selection of gowns, and the sales consultant I worked with was so sweet and really took her time helping me in and out of gowns! As the previous review noted, be prepared for the list of numbers on the tags - they're actual prices!

I bought a beautiful Ulla-Maija couture gown from Marina Morrison. The sales staff was helpful and not pushy at all. They let me try on lots of gowns and were patient while I made my decision. They have a beautiful selection of high-end gowns.
