We booked Marisa for both our Engagement photos and our Wedding photography and we were floored with the results. When I first started planning our wedding, I said that a good photographer was the number one thing on my list. We live in Florida so had to do all the booking over the internet. After speaking with her over the phone, I was very confident I had picked the right photographer! The engagement session was sort of booked on the fly when we decided to take a trip home to Texas... but she was available and more than willing to meet us and shoot with us. We absolutely loved the photos and we were so happy we got to meet her. Marisa and I conversed back and forth several times up until the wedding about style of photos, meeting times, etc. I changed my mind plenty of times, and had several questions but she was very very sweet and my concerns were her concerns 100% of the time. She was always VERY easy to get ahold of whenver I had a worry or question. I'm seeing our wedding photos now and they're to die for. I look at them several times a day and I fall in love with them all over again each time I look at them. I am 100% positive that in twenty years when we look at these photos I will have the same feelings. My husband and I both absolutely adore Marisa, our parents and wedding party as well. I would highly recommend her to ANYONE getting married in the DFW area and I can promise you that she will capture your wedding in the most perfect way just like she did ours. Having Marisa Swarbrick handle our wedding photography was the perfect choice for our special day. As much as I tried not to be a "Bridezilla," I had a million concerns about capturing the memories; to me, once the wedding is over, the pictures are what remain. Marisa handled all my neuroses with comfort and grace. When I worried that our chapel was too dark, she spent an afternoon checking it out with me and strategizing how to get the best light. When I had several disasters with previously booked bridal portraits, was running out of time and starting to be convinced that I bought the wrong dress and had my hair all wrong, Marisa squeezed me in and took wonderful pictures that looked like "me", settling my rattled nerves.

As for the big day itself, I told her that what I wanted most from our wedding day photography was at least one perfect, magical, timeless picture of me and my husband...instead, I had a hard time choosing which perfect picture was my favorite! Rather than choosing the best images herself, as so many professional photographers do, I had asked Marisa to share copies all of the photos, so that I could make my own decisions. I can still remember the day I raced home with my disc to look at the pictures, thinking…”That’s it, there’s my perfect picture!” and revising it each time I found another. I will always treasure how she captured one of the happiest days of my life.

I am very picky about how photographers capture my face--all my life I've had pictures that look "like me" along with pictures that other people find pretty, but that I can’t stand. A lot of professional photographers are talented at beautiful backgrounds or looking at the “whole picture,” but seem to miss the importance of individuals. Marisa has the talent of capturing faces in addition to having an eye for beautiful settings and original ideas. She will actually listen to you and what you are looking for in your pictures rather than only doing what she thinks is best. If Marisa can keep someone as high maintenance as me happy, you know she is the right choice for you, too!

Marisa took our engagement photos, and as beautiful as they were, we ended up firing her and going with another highly recommended photographer in our area. She did a great job on our engagement photo shoot and I definitely appreciate her since we all got stuck in traffic, but she did seem a little zoned out. After we had booked her for our wedding, it was almost impossible to get back in touch with her - it took her weeks to respond to my e-mails, and she never answered the questions I had asked, prompting more e-mails that never got answered... even though she was updating her business page on facebook multiple times a day. Because of extenuating circumstances, I tried to be flexible and understanding, but when I asked her what would happen if she would be unable to photograph our wedding, I received a very vague "I have some other photographers I can ask to do it for me." When we made the decision to go with another photographer about a month and a half before the wedding, she sent me a very snippy e-mail back. While I love our engagement photos, and the work shown on her website is a very accurate representation of the wonderful photos she takes, I am glad that we went with another photographer for our wedding day.

Choosing Marisa as our photographer was a wonderful decision! She took the vision that I had for our photos and made it better than I could imagine.

Her personality is so laid back and helpful, her only focus the entire day was to capture the essence of our wedding. She was so responsive to our requests and I can not imagine choosing anyone else to capture the most important day of our lives.

From the time we met her through our engagement shoot and our wedding day she kept in touch and helped with anything we needed. She truly became a part of our wedding party and fit right in. She was so helpful in capturing special moments of our special day I can not thank her enough. Even though we have moved since, we will be going back to her for all future photography needs. She is a wonderful person with a truly artistic vision and a heart to make everyone feel special and beautiful.

In life, there are a few things that stand out of great importance. Getting married was the most important day of my life and I am truly glad that Marissa was there to capture our special day. She was always very flexible to the pictures that we wanted to capture and delivered a truly amazing representation of the wonderful day we had.
During this time, Marissa also had some important times going on in her life. She explained to us about the situation with her father and we were glad to wait a little longer to receive our photos while she enjoyed and captured final memories with her father. We fully understood the order of importance.
We have our photos and they are INCREDIBLE! We plan on using her again very soon and have recommended her to others for their special occasions. If you want someone who will seamlessly insert themselves into your event and capture it on film, Marissa is the person you want!

We hired Marisa as our photographer for our engagement photos, my bridals and as our wedding photographer. I had seen her work and it looked sensational, so I was really excited to work with her. Marisa is so easy and so fun to work with! She took our vision of what we wanted our photos to look like and made them better than I could ever imagine. She did a phenomenal job. Our engagement pictures were so unique that we had tons of compliments on them. I had lots of people tell me they looked like magazine ads! My bridals were beautiful. Marisa had never used the location that I chose in any of her prior photo sessions, but she has a keen eye and will pick out the most beautiful backdrops to make you shine! And there is no doubt that she went above and beyond at the wedding. She made sure that she captured every single special moment…and the funny ones too!

Yes, I too experienced the extenuating circumstance that one of the reviewers mentions above. However, you have to extend the graciousness of being a decent human being and realize that just because you are a bride and experiencing a happy time in your life and wanting your perfect day to be perfect that doesn’t mean that the world stands still just for you. There are things that happen in peoples’ lives that require you to give them a break and have a little sympathy for what they are going through. Marisa did a stand up job for us and considering the circumstances, I did not mind at all that I had to wait a little longer to get my images back or she took a little longer to respond to my emails. She is a great photographer and I’m so grateful for the amazing job she did.

Marisa is great photographer! She is very affordable and flexible! She also gives you a cd with all of the copyright release as a part of the wedding package.

I have used Marisa for my engagement pictures, wedding pictures and college-grad pictures. This shows you that I was so pleased with her work and was excited to use her again in the future. She is an amazing photographer with a good eye for what will look good. She was very patient, nice to work with and makes taking pictures fun. She took so many pictures at our wedding that we had so many to choose from and so many memories to cherish. I will use Marisa again in the future, and I highly recommend her for anyone that wants beautiful pictures!

My sister-in-law had booked Marisa for her engagement and wedding photos. When I was able to see them, I fell in love with Marisa's work. Since, Marisa has done several sessions for our family. My wedding photos are stunning.She made me feel so comfortable. Our wedding location was a long distance from Marisa and she was promptly on time and well prepared. She made suggestions for shots that I would never have thought of that made our memory book special. She has since done our a family portrait at the Arboretum, all I can say is breathtaking. Our daughter was born early and was in the NICU for 23 days. That having been said, we were not able to take a whole lot of photos. We called Marisa to see if she would be able to do a last minute photo session with our new baby girl now that we were able to bring her home. With such short notice, she still made our first day with our daughter at home fun, and beautiful. Marisa was so gentle when positioning my baby. I still cry when I look at our daughters first photos. We recently did our fall photos, I loved them all but I must say that there is one photo of my daughter and I that is nothing short of amazing. Aside from the quality of the work that Marisa has done for my family, she has also made photography affordable. I do not know of many photographers that include the copyright to all of your photos in the package. My family will forever be clients of Marisa and her fabulous work.

Choosing Marissa for our wedding photographer was the BEST decision we could have made on our wedding day! My (now) husband and I met with 5 photographers and she was the one that we connected with the most and we loved the photos she showed us in her portfolio. She absolutely was able to catch every precious moment during our big day in just the way we wanted her to. My mom is extremely controlling and Marissa was able to keep her from running the show yet never offended her.

Our photos were exactly what we asked for. We wanted some formal, but really wanted her to capture the candid moments. We have photos of things we never even saw happen!! It's like she was able to be in two places at once.

I would recommend Marissa to anyone looking for a reliable, talented and professional photographer for any event, especially a wedding! I currently have a wall full of wedding photos she took and someday we’ll fill it with baby photos that I fully intend to hire Marissa to take!

Marisa helped make our wedding perfect. My husband and I do not like having our pictures taken, but Marisa changed that for us. We had our engagement pictures done by a chain photography studio and we were not thrilled. We met with Marisa after meeting several other photographers and we immediately knew that she was the one for us. She took my bridal portraits and I was stunned and ecstatic with the results. The portrait session was relaxed and enjoyable as Marisa felt like part of my family. The bridal portraits will be some of my favorite pictures forever. The pictures Marisa took at our wedding are incredible and she was one of the easiest parts of the day because I trusted her completely. My husband and I recommend Marisa to everyone we know and my brother-in-law also asked Marisa to take his wedding pictures. Again, she did an amazing job. We take all of our family pictures with Marisa and we will continue to do in the future. I HIGHLY recommend Marisa!!!!

Marisa was very easy to work with. She put everyone at ease. As the mother of the bride, I did not mind writing the check and paying for her services. She was worth every penny. Wish I could say the same for some of the other vendors that we used on that day.

I absolutely LOVE Marisa!! She was so friendly, caring, and made us feel so relaxed. I first chose Marisa because she was the ONLY photographer online who responded to my email requesting information. When I first met her I instantly knew that I made the right choice. We used her services for our Engagement pictures, Bridal Portraits, and our Wedding Pictures. I still look back at all the pictures and think "Wow these really turned out great!". She was able to capture the silly, romantic, and emotional moments that my husband and I have shared over the years. I am looking forward to using her again when we are able to expand our family in the near future. I cannot wait to see what special moments she captures of our little family!
