After meeting with Marlin I knew he would be a fantastic person have photograph our wedding. We were so impressed with his portfolio and he is just one of the nicest, most down to earth people you will ever meet. He is so friendly that he totally put us at ease and we instantly felt comfortable around him.

Marlin took our engagement photos at Disneyland - and we loved the photos we got back. I don't think I am a super photogenic person so I am pleased that he was able to capture some photos where I actually thought were good of me :) He had great ideas for the shoot and he didn't make us do anything that wasn't us. Our epics are super relaxed and fun and just perfectly us.

On our wedding day both Marlin and his wife Marlene (who also is one of the nicest people in the world) went above and beyond. I stressed to them that I was much more interested in getting candid shots that showed the emotion of the day than posed shots and that is exactly what he got. I didn't give him a huge photo list to take either - but he got every single must have shot that I would have put on the list. A couple of times throughout the evening I asked him to make sure he got a photo of a specific detail and his response was always "we already got that!" He and Marlene were such a pleasure to have around on that day and both of them seemed like great friends before the day was over!

When we got our photos back I was really impressed that he was able to get so many fantastic shots. Every detail was there and there really isn't anything that I would have them go back and photograph if I could. There are photos that show the raw emotion of the day that made me tear up when looking at them for the first time and other photos that are just gorgeous. I found some of my favorites were the ones that I don't even remember him taking so I am sure he was just clicking away while I wasn't even paying attention.

I highly recommend Marlin and would not hesitant to hire them again to photograph other special events and moments in our life.

I agree with all of the reviews listed here. He is fantastic! By far our favorite vendor that we worked with throughout the wedding process and even more so the day of! Him and his wife Marlene are just the sweetest people you will ever meet and just as important they are both incredibly talented. You can tell they thoroughly enjoy what they do which is probably why they are so amazing at it.
We first met Marlin in Oct. 2006 for our engagement sitting and he made us feel totally comfortable and at ease. Then when we got the shots back I was completely blown away at the things he was able to capture. Not just our faces but real emotion and true beauty in everything!
I received our photos from our wedding yesterday and all I could say was WOW. I don't know how he did it but he brought every tiny event and emotion to life in his pictures. Seeing everyone's faces at the ceremony and reception and seeing all of the small things I missed on the day of the wedding was incredible to see in print.
We had as more compliments from friends and family on our photographers than we did anything else. They are wonderful people and by the end of the night they felt like family. I highly recommend them and can only say they're worth every cent you pay and more! As I told Marlin - him and his wife are photographer GODS and I have even been trying to brainstorm other things we can have photographed just so we can work with them again! They are true gems in an industry that can sometimes be a not so nice place.

Marlin is just a really cool person and I could rave about him all damn day. His pictures are not posed and that's exactly what I wanted when I went looking for a photographer. Marlin is kick back, so flow and just makes you feel comfortable. At the wedding, I didn't want him to leave. I even took pictures with Marlin because he's almost like family now. Before our ceremony my son came down with hives on his legs, and Marlin was there calming him down and holding him. He's just so genuine and like no other, definitely a rare gem in this scary ugly business of wedding planning.

What a joy to work with. He did our epics and made us feel so comfortable. His talent is remarkable. I look forward to working with him and his lovely wife for our day.

We booked Marlin awhile ago and just recently did our engagement photos with him and they turned out amazing. He was great to work with and so much fun. He took so many photos and it has been so hard to choose which ones we want to use for the wedding. We are really looking forward to working with Marlin for our wedding. We got our wedding photos yesterday from Marlin for our wedding in April 07. They are just amazing! We loved our engagement pictures and couldn't wait to do our wedding pictures with him. I have been in awe of every single one. Him and his wife Marlene were very professional on the day of the wedding. I hardly noticed them there. I trusted Marlin so much that I didn't even give him a list of photos that I wanted taken. I can't think of a single shot that he didn't get that I had wanted. I am currently working on my knot: married bio. Hopefully I will be done with it soon. My username is the same on the knot as on here. Any questions, you can find me on the Ca: Inland Empire board.

I love him! Our e-pics turned out great. He and his wife were very easy to work with on the day of. I love my wedding pics. He got so many really beautiful photos. $1150 for 9 hours with 2 photographer is a great price in LA. We also ran out of time, my fault, and weren't able to get shots on the subway like I had wanted to, so Marlin offered to take more pictures later. So 2 months later we got dressed up again and took more shots. I'll post them when I get them back.

I was married on jan 14th '07 and besides choosing my husband, Marlin was the 2nd best decision I made! His pictures are absolutely amazing, his price can't be beat, and his personality makes everything even better. He and his wife Marlene are truly heaven sent! We took our engagment photos back in Nov @ the santa monica pier and they were amazing! You can tell he loves photography, but he also cares about his clients. I had a terrible DOC and Marlin kept asking me if there was anything I needed, anything he could do. He went above and beyond the call of duty. My husband and I still keep in touch with Marlin and Marlene, they are such a wonderful couple. Anyone who doesn't consider hiring him is crazy!

I can't say enough about how great Marlin and Marlene are. They took amazing pictures for our wedding and were very professional, nice, and fun to be around. They make you feel comfortable right way and have a great eye for artistic photographs. Many of our guests, vendors, and wedding party commented on how easy they were to work with and how nice the pictures turned out. They could easily charge much more. We wish we could work with them again!

Marlin and Marlene are an awesome team. They were so great to work with on our wedding day - I actually ran out of energy before they did!! Their photos are artistic without being cheesy. I love that! You know how some advice pages say you should ask to see a photographer's whole collection to make sure they don't just pick the good ones for public viewing? You don't need to worry about that with Marlin and Marlene because all their pictures are absolutely stunning. I have a whole engagement session and tea ceremony to prove it! Take a look at his blog and take the time to meet with them (I am currently waiting for my wedding collection). You won't be disappointed.

Marlin has a great eye for photography. Not only that, he is very honest, kind and you can tell he loves his job. We could not have asked for more. Throughout the whole process Marlin was communicative and answered all of my MANY questions. He exceeded my expectations. Since day one I knew I made the right decision by hiring him. The day of the wedding Marlin and Marlene were great. They captured every detail. I did not know I had all those expressions! Marlene did an awesome job of capturing what went on outside of church while I got ready. When I saw the pictures I actually felt like I had been in both places at once. Marlin was quick to ask me if I was okay and/or if I needed something whenever I seemed overwhelmed. When I got our pictures, I could not help but cry. They were breathtaking. He even threw in a few extras. I usually see posts that say “If you are on a budget call Marlin.” Well, I have to say that even if you are not on a budget, call Marlin! He is very skilled and will deliver high quality images.

Marlin and Marlene are the best duo ever. They were so wonderful to work with and their photography speaks for itself. I am so happy I selected them to capture my wedding day. Not only were they accommodating, on time and fun, the shots they took were artistic and beautiful. Best part of all, they will work with your budget! (I interviewed two other photogs before Marlin who were just snobby, stubborn and not worth my time.)
