Marlon went above and beyond our expectations. Not knowing where to start with a photographer, I really needed someone that could not just sell me their services but also help me develop my vision. His pictures are beautiful, you can see that on his website. What you don't see, are the various other dimensions of service he provides. His knowledge of weddings and timing was critical for us in planning our special day. He knew how much time we needed to set aside for what we wanted. His use of various different mediums is not just impressive but it adds different dimensions to our memories that we will be able to have forever. He told us when he thought we would need a break (and we did). He gave fantastic advice. Most importantly, he listened to what we wanted, provided feedback and suggestions, and delivered a great product.

Marlon came to me through a recommendation from my west coast photographer friend. She did an internet search for a photographer who shoots film in the Miami area and she really appreciated his work/has a great eye. I met Marlon quite casually and discussed what it is we were looking for. He was very laid back and doesnt sell himself (like the other photogs in the area). However- after dealing with so many vendors I found his sense of cool and calm to be exactly that and knew I would be happy with this vibe during my (potentially hectic) wedding day. I relied on my friend's ability to sense his talent through his work on the website.
We did a test/engagement shoot to get accustomed to being photographed and I HIGHLY recommend this. It gives you a chance to see how you photograph as a couple/quirks etc) and get to know the photographer a bit. The photos speak for themselves...he is amazingly talented. He is methodical and thoughtful. It was a freezing Miami day and I was a little impatient with the pace being a NYC transplant but film is not like digital where you can get 1000 pictures and delete to find the 3 good ones. He waits for the moment and captures it. Rather than a 20% keep rate, he took relatively fewer photos but quality over quantity should be the rule, not the exception. That being said- I am VERY pleased with the quantity as well.
Wedding day: he was professional, brought back up cameras and I barely saw him during the actual event (the wedding was a night). He is a stealthy photographer- capturing the moments without being imposing and the photos again are just amazing. (You have to see for yourself.- go to his site)
Marlon is timely, taleted, amenable to any of your ideas, captures beauty in a unexpected way. His eye and talent are undeniable. His passion is evident in his work- however- he needs a PR agent to extol his virtues because he is far too humble.
I feel VERY fortunate to have found this amazing photographer and hope to keep him around to capture all my life's major events. He deserves great success and I hope this is one review that leads many other lucky brides his way. Don't hesitate to use Marlon.
Forgot to mention- he said he would have the photographs turned around at a certain time and CAME THROUGH! Other friends have had big problems with their photogs. Marlon is a true gem! Professionalism at its best.

Q. Can you describe Marlon Richardson Studio's photography style?
A. We stress natural settings but posed looks are arranged as well. We try to convey the personality of the day and the emotions of the couple being married. We definitely don't harass guests for tabletop portraits or ruin your wedding with long setups.
However, we do get our signature look with unconventional methods. You could be running on the beach in Miami, as we snap a photo or strolling in midtown New York near the restaurant you first met. Our shutters are always ready to capture the moments!
Q. What is the standard coverage for my wedding event?
A. We are available to shoot the entire event from start to finish on your wedding day. You decide how much coverage is needed but 8 hours is considered our minimum to capture the day.
Q. How does the booking process work?
A. Please call the studio for availability. The "contact us" pages has a form that will allow us to learn a bit about you before we speak. Once, we've settled the date and made some decisions a deposit is required to secure the date. A legally binding insurable contract is presented with contingency plans for whatever unforeseen occurrence may arise from our studio. In other words, no matter what, your event will be covered guaranteed.
Q. Do you photography other events?
A. We photograph engagements, rehearsal dinners, bar/bat mitzvahs, and any other large event or party. Portrait, family, and unconventional parties are also our specialty. Please contact us for rates.
Q. Will we meet with you before the wedding?
A. Without question we must meet you before the wedding to get a feel for what type of pictures we will take. We like to establish a comfort level well in advance from the wedding date. If your not in Miami, we can in some instances come to your city but at the very least schedule a video conference call.
