MarqueEntertainment (A.K.A. Sing-A-Long DJ/KJ) has been providing outstanding service for Weddings and Receptions since 1997.  Our owner is our lead DJ and his knowledge of music, past and present, is greatly received on the dance floor. He works with the furture bride and groom to make sure they have the best reception possible. He can also assist in your Reception Planning to have a smooth, well run, reception with years of memories incorporated.  Although most of our events are local, we have traveled as far south as Pompano Beach, Fl; as far north as Charlotte, NC; and as far west as Mobile, AL. 

References are always available when requested. What music genres are in your collection?

Do you have liability insurance?
Yes
Describe your DJ style:
Easy Going, Utilize the guests/party goers to keep the correct music playing. Work with the hosts, bride & groom or person organizing an event to make sure appropriate music is being played. We stay in the background unless the organizers want us up front.
Is there a limit to the amount of music that can be requested?
No. Requested Music Requirements set by Client.
What is your usual attire?
Once selected to perform, our client dictates what our attire will be.
If you do not have one of the songs pre-requested by the client, do you require that they provide it?
I will get the music.
How many other DJs do you work with?
Three (3) DJ's. Son and Daughter are also part of MarqueEntertainment. Also have three (3) Karaoke Jockey's (KJ's) available.
What is the minimum amount of time you will DJ for?
2 hours unless arrangements are made prior to the event.
Is the client able to meet the DJ before booking?
We offer free consultations prior to bookings.
Do you specialize in any ethnic or international events?
Although I don't specialize, I will work with any group to play specific music. If it is the first time that we are playing a specific event, I will give a discount on the price.
Can the client submit a do-not-play list?
Always.
Do you bring your own equipment?
I bring everything. All I need is a plug.
What (if any) special equipment, such as disco balls or lighting, is offered with your service?
I have Lights (LED and Spot), Lasers, fogger, and disco balls.
How much time do you usually need to set up? Do you require that the site or client provide a table for you to set up on?
Depends on what is required. Basic DJ and a couple of speakers in 45 Mins or less.
Do you have any extra space requirements?
No
Do you have a sign or banner that you use at events?
I have a business banner I will use if the client approves it. I normally get a banner (small) congratulating the Bride and Groom (With their names). Larger banners are available (cost associated).
Do you usually emcee the event or talk between songs?
I will emcee an event if called for. I normally only talk between songs if it is required or needed. I will make any announcement that the client wants me to make.
How would you motivate the crowd if no one is dancing?
I find out from the client the who's, what, and music inclination is of the people that are invited. This way I always have a starting point and I also have a second person with me during wedding receptions to get immediate feedback on the music being played. I will get on the dance floor if needed.
What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?
I normally don't take a break and will have someone available to watch the sound board if I have to. I do not require/request food but will partake of finger foods if offerred.
Will you arrange for recorded music to play during your breaks?
N/A
What is your backup plan in case you become unavailable on the day of the event?
I have all pre-requested musical selections and a printed song list made prior to the event. If something happens a few days from the event a second DJ will take my place. IBeing a family business, my wife and my children are intimate with the working of the music and systems. My wife and I have planned several receptions with all of them a huge success. I always have a DJ on call the day of all events.
Do you book yourself for more than one event in a day?
Never if the event is a wedding. Only if the first event is one that I can walk away from and not worry about packing up that system. I have several systems sound systems that I use so I'm not tied in to only one.
What is your overtime rate?
Whatever the hourly rate is if charging by the hour. Flat rate, divide rate by the scheduled hours for per hour rate.
Do you charge for travel expenses? If yes, how much do you charge?
I charge for fuel if over 150 miles roundtrip; an overnight charge if the event is more than 150 miles (one way), over four (4) hours and doesn't end till after 11:00 PM. This can and has been negotiated.
What is the required deposit to secure your services?
Required deposit is one-third (1/3) the total if the event is more that 30 days in advance and/or travel distance. Deposit's are fully refundable up to 20 days in advance of the event date.
Additional Advice
Although price is always a concern, don't make your final choice based on money alone. Take time to meet with your respective DJ's. Check their music selections, will they take requests? Ask for personal references (not relatives), especially if he/she is playing in your home. Make sure any microphone system is more than adequate for your needs. A UHF system is much more reliable the a VHF system. If it is a wedding and/or reception, make sure you listen to the music your DJ or Band has to make sure that it is what you want. Don't wait till "Your" special day to find out it is wrong. We will always provide a free consultation for any event and will send you a short checklist for your wedding reception if you are planning your own.
