Chicago Marriott O'Hare

We hosted our 150 guest wedding reception at the Chicago Marriott O'Hare in July 2011 in the Chicago room. We were very happy with our entire experience with the hotel. We worked with Amy for sales, and Shantel for coordination and they were both great. Shantel was sometimes a little slow to get back to us, but always helped us resolve any issues we had. Shantel was there on the day of our event and made sure that everything was set up according to specifications (my fiance drew out EVERYTHING and had a very specific idea of how things should be set up). She was our coordinator on the day of for all things reception related and she did an awesome job. The hotel was very flexible with all of our requests - from passing out out of town guest bags, to setting up our decorations they did it all. They even gave us a staging room for the weekend to store all of the wedding decorations in so we could drop them off whenever. They worked with all of our vendors to ensure that everything was there on time and set up correctly. The room looked great and everything went really smoothly. Included in our wedding package was passed appetizer, plated appetizer, salad course, dinner, and cake as well as a 4 hour open bar, champagne toast, and wine service with dinner. All of the food was very good and we got many compliments. Additionally we received a suite for the night of our wedding, as did both sets of our parents. The location was very convenient for all of our out of town guests. There is a shuttle that runs to the airport and it is right next to the Blue Line for easy access to downtown. The guest rooms are currently being remodeled, but both the old and new rooms were very nice. The hotel had a heated indoor outdoor pool and a decent restaurant which all of our guests enjoyed. The only major inconvenience was the expensive parking which guests were required to pay if they stayed overnight at the hotel ($25/night), otherwise the hotel was a good value and good location. Overall we would recommend this location to any couples looking for a good value, great service and a helpful staff who is willing to work with your needs to meet your expectations.
