Marsha Shump (Five Points Area)

Martha is amazing! I first used her in 2007 to alter my bridesmaid dress for a friend's wedding. She's really honest with her customers and won't rip you off so her prices are among the lowest in town. Last time she only charged me $60 for the hem, taking in the sides about 4-5 inches, a bustle (because it had a sash), cups, and added boning at the top to keep it looking straight. Upon my first appointment with her for my wedding dress, I was a little scared because I knew there was going to be a lot of work involved (it had two layers with very intricate lace and beading on top so it was not a small job). She basically had to re-make the entire thing, but she only charged me $250! I know for a fact that it would have cost at least $400 anywhere else so, needless to say, I very highly recommend her. Furthermore, she's pretty friendly, and I always enjoyed talking to her. Something else interesting is that she's a wedding gown designer, first and foremost, which I didn't even know until recently; otherwise, I might have asked her to design a dress for me and saved myself the headache of traveling all over the state to find the perfect one. Her suite is located in the Five Points area downtown which feels pretty upscale.
