Mary-Ruth is the best!!!! Prior to meeting with Mary-Ruth, I met with other florist but they lacked the interest in my vision and seemed focused on getting me to increase my budget. I meet with Mary-Ruth and she made me feel comfortable and offered alternative ideas to ensure I stayed within my budget, in addition to still getting the look I was going for. Mary-Ruth is truly passionate about her business and it is reflected in her work and customer service. Mary-Ruth remained available and flexible throughout the planning process....she even let me come take a sneek peek at my flowers a couple days before my wedding!!!! I recommend Mary-Ruth to every bride I encounter. I am ever so grateful to have found such an incredible woman to make my day even more special!

Mary Ruth Chapin- where do I even begin! The arrangements and bouquets she made were better and more beautiful than I could have ever imagined! Our guests were stunned at how gorgeous everything was. She even set up extra floral details around the venue to add to my theme (cocktail tables, side tables, cake table, all places we did not ask her to decorate!) She went above and beyond to make our wedding perfect. Not only is she a talented artist, but she is an amazing, caring, sweet woman. When planning, she offered practical advice for our ceremony and reception, and had no trouble meeting with us to go over ideas. During the reception, she was there with the bridal party, and later with my husband and I when taking photos, always asking if she could do anything for us. She was running around trying to make everyone comfortable (!!!). She was very much like a part of the family! Her flowers are very affordable, she is very helpful and willing to work within a budget. And she will make the most of your budget too (so many flowers, so much creativity for what you pay). I would only recommend Mary-Ruth to brides! What an amazing lady! So very lucky and grateful to have found her for my special day :)

I loved working with Mary-Ruth Chapin and she completely exceeded my expectations! My bouquet was prettier than I imagined and I could not stop looking at it. For our centerpieces, Mary-Ruth did balls of baby's breath and they looked fantastic. All of our guests commented on how pretty and unique they were. I met with a few florists before meeting with Mary-Ruth and when I met her, I just felt like she really loves what she does and that she would do a great job on our flowers. She is extremely talented, easy to work with, flexible and affordable. The day of, she delivered flowers to our hotel with a big smile on her face and she even stayed to teach the boys how to put on their boutonnieres. She is amazing and I would highly recommend her to any bride!

My husband and I were married in April. Mary-Ruth Chapin was our florist and provided everything from our bouquets, centerpieces, cake topper, etc. We put all our trust in her to make my vision a reality. I have dreamed of my wedding since I was a little girl and the flowers were always such a big part of that dream. All I can say is Mary-Ruth FAR EXCEEDED anything I ever could have dreamed. Not only did she provide all of our flowers, she followed us around during our cocktail hour holding a tray of hors d’oeuvres for us to eat while we took pictures!! We have many pictures that our photographer took of her and us that we look back on fondly. Her personality is wonderful and she was so easy to get along with. From the moment we meet, I knew she was our florist and I knew we could faithfully put our trust in her to make our floral dreams come true. Mary-Ruth Chapin is a wonderful florist. Her knowledge & professionalism is top notch. She was punctual on my wedding day with a lovely smile on her face. She works out of her home so she devotes her time to you as a client. She spent many hours listening to my vision & had no problem adjusting to my changes in vision as the months went on. Words cannot describe how awesome Mary Ruth is. She's so creative and talented. She makes great GREAT arrangements for affordable prices. She did babies breath clouds for my wedding and I wish I could post pictures of them here to give an idea of how wonderful they looked. Mary-Ruth was sooooo fantastic! She couldn't have been easier to work with and the flowers were all stunning! I didn't even know what I wanted when I initially went to meet with her and she walked me through the whole process. By the time I left I knew what I wanted and I knew I wanted her to do it. I couldn't be happier with how things turned out and she is a truly wonderful person. She is so warm and loving and you can tell she really cares about making your day as perfect as possible.

Mary-Ruth did a superb job in more than just my floral decor. She is cool calm and collected (even in the midst of a downpour on her newly arranged chuppah flowers)- She re-arranged the plan to make everything gorgeous. The fabulous part- I wasn't involved in a speck of the re-grouping- It was my day and she didn't bother me with one iota of stress- she made it all happen and was there to straighten boutonniere's and fluff bows and hair on my attendants before we walked down the aisle. She treated me like her own daughter in her detail and care. I assumed the florist would drop off the flowers and leave, not Mary-Ruth. She stayed and made sure everything was perfect. She is a blessing and I can not thank her enough for the beauty she brought to my wedding. Thank you.

I love Mary Ruth!!! What an amazing lady with a fantastic eye for color and design and a thorough knowledge of flowers! I met Mary Ruth after she did the flowers for my sister's May 2008 wedding. When I got engaged, one of my first phone calls was to Mary Ruth, because I knew I had to have her as my wedding florist! I'm not super-knowledgeable about flowers, so I had a few suggestions for Mary-Ruth but left most of the creative work up to her. All of the flowers were GORGEOUS! I could not have been happier...we are even having my bridal bouquet preserved. You would be lucky to have Mary-Ruth as your florist!!

Mary-Ruth truly surpassed all of my expectations for the flowers for my wedding. I wanted something unique and memorable and she delivered!! Everyone at the wedding raved about the flowers, and those who took the center pieces home said the flowers lasted for weeks. Mary-Ruth is a dream-come-true for brides to be!! She freely offers her advice and kind words of comfort and guidance to help in all areas of the planning. Her years of experience are so evident in the finished product! She knows her flowers and will not use any that are not at their peak of beauty. Up until the event, I relied completely on her and trusted her knowledge/experience....not knowing if it would all be evident in the end. When I walked into the ballroom, I was flabbergasted! The centerpieces were exploding in color and beauty---it was like the garden of Eden. My jaw dropped when I saw how well everything came together! She was right on about everything. We could not have been happier with the bouquets and the centerpieces. They were spectacular and we received many compliments on them. I would not have changed a thing...and I am an extremely picky person. I worried that the flowers would not have enough impact in such a spacious ballroom, but they stole the show. You would be hard-pressed to find a kinder, more gracious, more experienced, more talented, loving lady than Mary-Ruth for your florist!

I had been to several weddings and loved the flowers. It turned out Mary-Ruth had done the flowers so when my daughter became engaged I was happy she wanted to meet with her. From the very first moment we met, she was there to make sure she understood Emily's vision of her wedding and then guide us thru her experience with visual pictures and drawings of how the ideas would look in reality. Wow! It was beyond our expectations. She is always in touch and there are no surprises with costs as she keeps you informed and lets you make the decision about which way to go while giving many options to obtain what you want. She made an arch for the ceremony that was spectacular and the flower quality and style were incredible. I have never been so happy with anyone I have worked with. She takes great pride in her work and it shows.

Mary-Ruth was a very creative and flexible florist to work with. While she initially gave me options that were slightly over my budget she did not hesitate to work around my budget to exceed my expectations. She took the initiative to make some last minute changes to the ceremony decor - but they actually looked better than we actually discussed. The calla lilies that were attached to the chairs were fuller and more substantial than I imagined. It was great to have inexpensive options look so elegant and rich. If you are a bride on a budget but do not want that fact reflected in your ceremony, I would highly recommend Mary-Ruth.

From our very first meeting, Mary-Ruth was incredibly helpful and sweet. She educated me a bit on the types of flowers that were in bloom during the month of my wedding. She also informed me which flowers were most fragrant and which ones would hold up better given the arrangement I wanted. Her knowledge of the field really put me at ease. I knew I was in good hands.

She worked with me very considerately with my budget. She helped me choose flowers that were in my price range and counseled me on which areas to splurge and which areas to be more frugle on. She also gave me lots of ideas for centerpieces.

Other florists just didn't compare. They didn't coach me enough through the process. They didn't show me actual pictures of the many types of blooms and leaves available like Mary-Ruth did.

I am so happy that I chose Mary-Ruth. Her arrangements and her incredible eye for beauty really made my wedding even more beautiful.

Mary-Ruth Chapin came recommended by our wedding coordinator (who had used her as a florist in her own wedding). She was friendly, pleasant, flexible, and very responsive to our requests and flexible when last-minute changes occurred. Finally, I must mention that, as a gay male couple, we were somewhat anxious about how our vendors would relate to us, and we therefore selected very carefully who would be helping to make our special day happen. We could not have been happier with Mary-Ruth. She was so accepting and affirming, and truly was a joy to work with. Mary-Ruth is not only fabulous as a florist but she is also awesome at calming nervous bride's nerves. Her voice and demeanor is calming and it makes the stress of wedding planning much easier. I was especially stressed because I was planning a wedding in Maryland from North Carolina. We accomplished so much by phone and e-mail and I never felt unsure about how my arrangements were going to turn out. She is very knowledgeable, has great artistic abilities and if you are as indecisive as I was, Mary-Ruth is who you want to work with. After giving her vague descriptions of what I wanted (through phone and e-mail in which she always responded quickly) I finally was able to make the trip to Maryland to meet with her in person. She showed me her ideas based on what I requested and she "hit the nail on the head". Everything was exactly as I wanted and on the big day, the bouquets and arrangements were even more beautiful than I expected. Absolutely perfect! I would without a doubt recommend Mary-Ruth Chapin to any bride or anyone else needing floral arrangements.

To say that Mary was the best is an understatement. Mary made our day the greatest we could possible ever imagine. She was quick, curious and absolutely patient with all the rowdy Nigerians at our wedding. She worked with us from the moment we decided to use her services. Mary has now become family, that is how good she was. Not only were her planning skills phenomenal, but her flowers were fresh, cost effective and just absolutely beautiful. She drove an hour down to our event and was there a day early in order to make sure everything went well. Mary-ruth helped make my day incredibly special. All my flowers were so incredibly beautiful and they turned out just as I had hoped. I was very specific with what I wanted and mary-ruth certainly delivered. Mary Ruth was SUCH a joy to work with! She made the flower part of the wedding planning so enjoyable and pain free. She asked such in depth questions of my fiancee and I to get a feel for what we wanted for our special day. She asked about our flower preferences. Mary-Ruth was so wonderful helping to make our wedding so beautiful. Her floral arrangements were breathtaking. She was very accomidating to our needs. I had a vision of what I wanted our centerpieces to look like and she made it happen.....Mary-Ruth had to purchase special vases and she didn't even hesitate when I described what I wanted. The price was worth every penny. She is very personable especially since she works from her home. You don't have to worry about a number of different people working on your flowers when you use her. She has a lot of attention to detail and added something special to my bouquet that has a lot of meaning. My mom continues to talk about her to this day to people that she knows that are getting ready to plan weddings.

I could never put into words how grateful I am to Mary-Ruth for her incredible effort for our wedding. I was first drawn to Mary-Ruth because of her amazing ability to listen to us! So many florists TOLD us what we wanted - Mary Ruth took our dreams and made them a reality. She was flexible, kind, and down-to-earth. She created stunning arrangements and bouquets that we will never forget. Much more importantly, Mary-Ruth was there for us during what turned out to be a giant snowstorm on our wedding weekend! She stayed at a nearby hotel with all of our flowers the night before our wedding, and somehow managed to get to our venue with everything looking absolutely perfect. When I walked in and saw her setting up, I couldn't help but cry. Her skill, dedication, and warmth truly make her stand out, and I feel so lucky to have found her!

Mary Ruth provided last minute flowers for our Welcome Home Celebration. We called her less than five weeks in advance, but because we were not using bouquets, and instead wanted only boutonnieres and hair pieces for the ladies and bride, she was able to work with us.

Our style was unconventional-- dark and even a little wacky--- she nailed it! We had gorgeous black calla lilies for the grooms and white calla lilies for the ladies, all in healthy bloom and vibrant in color. We asked for feathers, and she paired our flowers with two kinds of animal feathers, an ostrich feather, and something else a little more flimsy. Perfect! The mothers had one black and one white calla lilly each, tied with striped black and white ribbon-- sort of like an elegant BeatleJuice--- exactly what we were hoping for!

Most importantly, Mary Ruth was willing to work with us over the Internet, as our last minute proposal made it difficult to find a time for us to meet, and it still worked out fabulously!

Mary-Ruth is a true find! She is honest, professional and very nice to work with...She was particularly clever with my bouquets, as I wanted silk peonies incorporated into my flowers. They were unavailable (or extremely expensive) for my september wedding, and it broke my heart. I spoke with her about using silk peonies along with a number of real flowers. She did and amazing job...not only did she put together great bouquets for my bridal party, but she helped redo arrangements from the night before for the tables...(these weren't even her flowers!) She went above and beyond to make my wedding perfect. She is a true artist who really goes out of her way to make your wedding as beautiful as it can be....A+ highly recommended!!!

I came to Mary-Ruth with this crazy idea of putting flowers in pumpkins and she took it and ran. DH was so scared it would look tacky but with the fake pumpkins we used to hold the flowers everything looked tasteful and elegant, even better than I had imagined them being. She went above and beyond what I expected and helped pull together my vision of a elegant fall wedding that embraced the rustic tones of the Evergreen Carriage House.

She even gave us a few items for free, like the boutonnieres for the junior groomsmen and bouquets for the mothers. She is professional and very sweet - she cares deeply about her brides and it shows.
