Masterson's Catering

When it comes to food, Masterson's is awesome and I would hire them again for any catering need in Louisville. The wait-staff was professional and courteous and everyone raved about the food.

That said, I marked them down on professionalism because even though we explicitly asked and the catering manager constantly reassured us that there would be no tip jars at the bars, the bar tenders put up tip jars. We were already paying a nice tip to them as part of the contract and we didn't want our guests to feel pressured to tip at the open bar. We told the manager afterward, and although she was very upset that this happened she did mention that it's an ongoing problem that they're working on, so be aware.

I would like to applaud them on flexibility. They came and set up tables on Friday before the Saturday wedding so that we could decorate on Saturday morning. Much appreciated and overall and excellent caterer.

We did a dinner buffet and an open bar through Masterson's for our wedding reception. The food was magnificent. We were not given the option to taste any of the food before the wedding, so I was a little concerned about the quality. We were very pleased with the food and the service. Everyone was very nice and helpful. They provided all the plates, glasses, silverware, and even tablecloths. The workers made sure the setup looked beautiful and were very quiet while the ceremony was taking place. The best part...they even bagged up plates for my husband & I to take back to the hotel with us! So happy we used Masterson's!

Masterson's provided us with a perfect meal. I would use them again. Brian was very helpful in our planning and very flexible.

I really enjoyed working with Masterson's for our catering needs. Our contact person was very friendly and helpful. The food was excellent and the wait staff did an excellent job at our reception. We had a plated meal with dual entrees that was very affordable in comparison to other caterers in the area. Masterson's also provides linens, glassware, and all the other extras that many caterers cannot offer. I would definitely recommend this caterer.

The food was absolutely delicious! I would highly recommend the "pasta station" - all of our guests raved. Brenda Bush is the BEST - she worked with us on a specialized menu and gave us wonderful advice. It was a great experience.

Masterson's will never let you down! We had a sit down dinner for 165 people and 165 people have told me how wonderful the meal was!! Their food is top of the line!

The food was wonderful. :) We had a beef, chicken, and fish, a mashed potato bar with white and sweet potatoes, salad, and veggies. Everything was so amazing. We got so many compliments on the food. Not only that, but we used one of their restaurants for my bridesmaids luncheon as well (Captain's Quarters) and we received a discount! Can't go wrong there. :)

Masterson's provided really good food at a very good price. My guests were pleased as was I. Thier bar package can not be beat.

Magnificant food. There are enough choices to suit any taste. We chose the pasta stations. We thought that perhaps there would be a buffet style pasta bar. Instead, we had 3 private pasta chefs preparing everyone's individual plate with everything that they wanted and nothing they didn't. The food service staff were all very pleasant and cordial. The bar tender knew how to take care of all 100 of our guests.

Best bet for the money. Louisville is full of expensive catering and expensive venues. This was a great venue and you don't pay to rent, however you must meet a catering minimun for the room you use. I was in the main room and it suited my color scheme beautifully. The China and linens were included and the staff went out of their way to make everything perfect. The food was also better than many of the more expensive caterers I have sampled. My only critique is that we had to track staff down during the reception to refill drinks and refill the food. But I spent less money on food and venue than my other recently married friends and I have been told by every one that attended my wedding that I had one of the most beautiful and tasteful weddings they have attended.

The food supplied by Masterson's was delicious, fit perfectly with the theme of our wedding and was at the correct temperature for each dish. They were cost efficient, very flexible with preparation and did a great job with set up and serving. The only negative I had was that I met with them twice in advance of the reception and expressed that I am violently allergic to onions so I requested it not be added to any of the dishes. I also made them write it in the contract. The day of the reception I walked out to see the serving staff happily putting onion all over the salad, and there was some rice dish that was prepared with onion. I was very annoyed and obviously had to discuss every dish with them so I could determine what I could eat and what I couldn't. They ended up taking 25% off of the total bill which I thought was a reasonable mea culpa. The food I DID eat was great, the staff was gracious despite the snafu.
