Matt's DJ service did an amazing job at our wedding! They were very professional, played all of the songs we requested, and kept the dance floor full! Matt read the crowd well and switched songs if he noticed guests leaving the dance floor. He was fabulous and we had a blast! THANK YOU!

We had sooooo much fun at our wedding!!! The DJ was very friendly and played music that our guests danced to. Even my father-in-law was out on the dance floor (didn't know he could dance like that). We added the lighting package and limo to our day. We absolutely loved the lighting and our wedding party was surprised by the limo. Thanks for the GREAT time and a wedding we will remember for a long time!!!

This was extremely cool. The lights were all around the room and changed the romm to make it look like something out of a fairy tale. I would suggest this to all brides and grooms who are getting married!!!

Matt's DJ Service was simply great. We got so many compliments about how great the music was all night. They were super easy to work with and made our special day one to remember. DJ Dan worked really hard to make sure that people were having fun and dancing all night. We only had two complaints all night. Someone said that the music was a little too loud, and when I asked DJ Dan to turn the music down a little, he did so. The other complaint was that there was only 1 polka. The thing with the polka is that there were only a handful of people for the polka. As soon as he changed the music, the dance floor was full again. Great work!

Matt's DJ Service was the DJ for our wedding. Our guests had a great time with the photo booth and the music was great! The up lighting transformed the room. I would definitely recommend this DJ service over others in the area.

We booked Matt's DJ Service at a wedding show after seeing the DJ at a coworkers wedding. We booked them a year and a half a head of time and when we signed the contract we forgot to submit our slideshow photos 60 days in advance. They were nice about it and didn't charge us any extra money since we put all the pictures in order and scanned all the images in ourselves. Pam told me they would contact me two weeks before the wedding to give us the name of the DJ, they didn't like doing it ahead of time because then the DJ can't remember anything. Unfortunately this caused a lot of unwanted stress for me. I DO NOT recommend this DJ if you like to have stuff done ahead of time. The two week mark passed and I still didn't hear a thing. I made my husband call and Pam told us that TJ was going to be our DJ and he would call us that night or the next day. TJ called my husband at work and they set up an appointment for 7:30pm that night to go over finalizing everything. 7:30PM passed no call nothing, so we called the cell number back and got some guy named David's voice mail. We were utterly confused because we were told TJ was going to be our DJ. Finally we got a call at 9:00pm from David apologizing that his other work ran late(first apology we had gotten). So David went through all the requirements with us and told us he would arrive early to play music before the ceremony. I gave David the number of our reception hall coordinator(Shelley) just incase. The wedding roles around and the DJ arrived late. Shelley tried calling Pam at the office and Pam would not give out the DJ's number. Thankfully my husband had the DJ's number and called him. The DJ was lost so Shelley gave him directions. He showed up in sweats(very unprofessional(but changed). He ran through the ceremony music and thankfully everything worked. He did his job, but this company does not have any customer service whatsoever and caused unwanted stress. I do not recommend them!

Thank you for your review. I would like to take some of your time to address the issues you experienced. I apologize for the unneeded stress TJ caused by not contacting you and missing the scheduled appointment. Although our DJ’s have other work commitments, we will work on creating a system to ensure that if their other employment causes a conflict we can effectively communicate that to our clients. In speaking with David, I am told that he arrived almost 1 and a half hours early to set-up. This is also why he arrived in sweats. We advise our clients that our DJ’s are to arrive one hour before the start time. I also spoke with Pam in regard to not providing David’s cell phone number. I am told that his cell phone was never asked for. Had it been, we would have provided it. Pam’s duties as the booking manager are to ensure that all the bookings occur without any problems. We do pride ourselves in providing excellent customer service. As you indicated in your review, we did not charge you the $125.00 late fee in regards to your slide show – although we had the contractual right to do so. When TJ did not contact you and you expressed your concern we made the decision to switch your DJ to David. It appears that David contacted you within an hour of you posting your comments to our Facebook page. David also arrived early for your event and even played extra – at no additional charge. I'm am sorry that you did not have a great experience with our company, but thank you for bringing these issues to my attention and taking the time to read my response. I wish you and your husband the best of luck and happiness in the future.

EVERYTHING THAT MATTS DJ SERVICE DID FOR US WAS PERFECT. THEY RESPONDED IMMEDIATELY TO ALL PHONE CALLS OR EMAILS I SENT THEIR WAY. THEY WERE VERY FRIENDLY WITH MEETING ME BEFORE THE WEDDING TO DISCUSS WHAT KIND OF MUSIC I WANTED PLAYED AND THEN DID AMAZING WITH STICKING TO IT. MY MAIN CRITERIA WAS TO NEVER HAVE AN EMPTY DANCE FLOOR AND THEY DID JUST THAT.. They take all the hassle out of planning music for your reception. You simply fill out a consultation guide and they do the rest. Our dance floor was packed all night long!

Matt's DJ Service provided top notch professional reception entertainment. The dance floor was full the entire night and we have them to thank for that! The music choices were appropriate for young and old alike so there's no doubt they know their stuff. We also decided to go with the photo booth and that was a GREAT decision. The guests enjoyed it all night and it gave us an extra view into the excitement of the reception that we may have missed otherwise. Plus, it gave our guests a great gift and memory to take home with them. We also went with the uplighting that really made the room look awesome. I truly believe the DJ makes the party and Taylor didn't disappoint - he brought the house down! When me and my wife got back from our honey moon all we heard was how much fun everyone had. This is a great DJ service. They played exactly what we wanted, had people on the dance floor all night, and the lighting and sound was great. We pry had the best Dj ever at our wedding. The dance floor was packed the entire night . We went with the uplighting option because Courtney wanted it but I'm glad we went with it was really cool. The slideshow made my mother cry also so we would like to say thanks again for a great night.

Dion was the DJ for our wedding, and did an excellent job. He customized the whole night to our song list and our requsts, and even facilitated trivia for our 'kissing game' during dinner. Dion was very professional and fun to work with, and I would highly recommend them!

We had Dion as our Dj and he was amazing! He listened to everything we had to say about we did and didn't want and gave suggestions if we were unsure about something. He took requests and kept not only us happy, but the guests also. I have never been to a wedding before where the ENTIRE dance floor is packed until the very end of the wedding...I am happy to say, that is what happened with ours! He had the dance floor packed the entire time. We received phone calls from friends and family saying that our dj was the best that they have ever seen! Don't waste your time looking elsewhere for a great DJ...book Matt's DJ Service. They are amazing!

Mitch was our DJ & he couldn't have done a better job! He was very receptive to what we wanted & he made the night fun - our guests are still talking about it & our wedding was 3 weeks ago. The music wasn't too loud or too soft & the microphone had great sound quality (we used it during our dinner). The music played was a perfect mixture for all the ages at the reception. There were always people on the dance floor & Mitch was very flexible as to what we wanted to do & when we wanted to do it.

Matt's DJ service is by far the best DJ service out there. I'm very pleased to have chosen them. I've been to many other weddings that lacked professionalism, equipment, and creativity. That wasn't the case with Matt's DJ. I expected a lot out of every vendor I chose and MDJ had no problem with what I wanted.

We had Dion as our DJ on October 8, 2010. He listened to everything we liked and did not like and went above and beyond our expectations. Not only was he a great DJ, he was a fun host (without being over the top cheesy), and he made sure the whole day went smoothly by constantly communicating with my husband and I and the wedding venue. We were very pleased with the service we received from him. Matt's DJ Service is the best DJ service out there and VERY reasonably priced. I can see why they rank so high with so many people!

They did pretty good, we had a crowd dancing all night long. The DJ was not super interactive but he played good music so I can't really complain.

It took several times emailing and calling before we were able to set up a consultation meeting prior to our wedding. The first guy I talked to said that he and a 'trainee' DJ were going to be meeting with us and doing our wedding. A day or two later he said that we would just be meeting with the other DJ and he wasnt going to be doing our wedding anymore. Our DJ was really flexible and met with us to go over all our songs. I was nervous because this was his first solo wedding. He did pretty good for the most part. One of the songs we requested for the parents dance wasn't correct and there were short breaks in between songs later in the night but otherwise music selection was pretty good. My other complaint would be that the speakers for the mic for the DJ were not nearly loud enough. The little he did talk, we could barely hear him even if we were in the front of the room. Otherwise, our guests had a good time. I dont know if we would book them again, but they were ok for the money I guess.

I too had the same issues with this DJ. I would email multiple times a week with no answer. My husband finally had to call in order to get an answer. I called as well and when the call was returned I was told that their outgoing server was down. I said "well that's not very good for business..." to which he replied, "I have my IT guy working on it for the past month so that's good enough for me." Well, that's not good enough for your customers a week before their wedding. I was told that I would get a call the following week to review final details (the week of the wedding). Well, I never heard anything so AGAIN had to call the day before my wedding to confirm everything. We also had to purchase dinner music so that they were not setting up during our dinner. Nice. I also requested a specific artist to be played and other than our first dance they played nothing on our request list. I also paid more than half down on our first payment and they quoted me a wrong price on our final amount. I said no, and that I had a copy of the check to prove this. The day of the wedding they then again told my husband this time the wrong total. He wrote out a check not knowing any better and I happened to catch this before the night was done. We tore up the check and wrote a new one for the correct amount. My advice is pay a little extra and get a DJ service that actually believes in customer service.

I’m disappointed to hear that you were not 100% satisfied with our service. As hard as it is to receive criticism, we are always appreciative of any kind of opinion from our customers. I would like to simply address a few claims made in your rating that were taken out of context or exaggerated. In no way am I accusing you of being misleading, but I think that is reasonable for me to defend myself and my company with what I see as what really occurred.
First off, I would like to discuss the communication issues you had with us. Concerning emails, we respond to emails in the order in which they are received. We receive a large amount of emails each day to respond to, so sometimes a response can take between 24 and 48 hours. It is the truth that our email service was temporarily down for less than a week, but that issue has been taken care of and we have had no problems with email since then. If you were concerned with not receiving a timely response to one of your emails, you could’ve called our business phone line, and we would’ve been happy to help you. Our business line is available Monday through Friday 8 AM to 8 PM. When it comes to the statement that I said I had an IT professional working on the server system, that is true. When you state that I said the system was being worked on for a month or that having the IT professional work on it “was good enough for me” . . . . that is a complete fabrication.
Continuing on, I next want to discuss your statement about our dinner music add-on package. It is an overstatement to say that we forced you to add on dinner music to your package just so that we would set up prior to anyone arriving at the reception venue. Yes, if you purchase dinner music, we will set up before the reception begins, but this is in no way a gimmick or tactic to force customers to add dinner music. At Matt’s DJ Service, we pride ourselves in our outstanding value. Value includes quality at a very reasonable price. We keep our prices with or below our competition, and we also have quality JBL sound systems as well as lighting built into those prices. The only way we can keep our prices low for the customer is by not having unnecessary costs, such as having our DJs set up 4 to 6 hours ahead of their scheduled performance and paying them to wait until the dance starts. I hope you can understand that we want to keep our prices low for our customers. Additionally, if you would’ve discussed your concern in not wanting me to do dinner music but to set up before the reception, I would’ve most likely set up before the reception at no charge. Since I am the owner of the company, I am flexible and understanding of people’s concerns, such as with setting up before the dinner and not doing dinner music. Not only have I done this, but my other DJs have as well. The dinner music add-on is simply a great option for those who want us to provide 2 hours of dinner music, set up before the reception, and use our microphone and audio equipment (for speeches, prayers, etc.). Not to mention the add-on is a great value (less than $100).
Continuing on I would like to talk about your claim that we played none of the music on your request list. When I, as do many of my employees, DJ weddings, I cross off songs that I play in the requested song section of the consultation guide our couples fill out. I actually have this consultation guide with me right now as I write this response and every song is crossed off except for two. I apologize for not getting every single song in the mix for the night, but I did have many requests to play on top of yours as well as songs that I pick to keep the crowd of all generations dancing throughout the night. As I recall, the dance floor was full the entire night. I think my company deserves a little more recognition in the rating you gave us in the fact that I had people dancing the whole night. Your husband (a very nice guy might I add!) came up to me after the dance to say how great I did keeping the dance floor full all night long. I think you can understand how disappointed I was to see such a poor rating from you specifically.
Finally, I want to discuss your anger in the payment confusion. I will take full responsibility for telling you the wrong total for your remaining balance. We honored your coupon which provided a $50 discount, but I had erred in not including that discount in my company’s accounting software. That led to the confusion over your payment. If you would not have realized my error that night, I would have recognized my mistake and sent you a check for the difference the following business day. We try to be as transparent and trustworthy as possible and for this small error, I apologize.
Thank you for your time, and I hope that after hearing my take on what happened, you will perhaps consider giving us a better rating. I think we both know that .7 is taking criticism to the extreme as far as ratings go. If you have any questions, please give me a call. Thanks!
