Matthew's Trattoria & Martini Lounge

The staff at Matthew's Trattoria really took care of us. The owner, Matthew, took the time to come out from the kitchen and personally congratulate us, and his wife Cindy was out on the floor the entire night making sure we had whatever we needed - including our meal, which she actually had to remind us to eat because we were so busy "making the rounds"!

The venue itself looks great as is - another money saver when it came to floral decor. They've got a deceivingly large banquet room which opens up to the back patio - a great combination for a mix of younger and older guests. We had the DJ stationed outside, so if not everyone wanted to dance or hear the music so loud they could sit inside where it was quieter. My husband and I live in the NYC area, and Matthew's looks and feels like a New York restaurant, without the New York prices! Our guests had so many great things to say about the food, as well as the martinis! They helped us come up with a "cocktails and hors d'oeuvres" style menu - they already do the "tapas bar" thing, and we also went with a meat carving station and a pasta station which really made people feel like they'd had a full meal. They just didn't have to wait to be served, or wait for the wedding party to arrive before they could eat!

B.J., the manager there, helped us out tremendously with keeping costs down at the open bar - we went with beer, wine, and well drinks, along with his specialty creations (the "Charla-tini" and a "George-tini" in honor of us) in our favorite flavors! The whole staff kept our guests happy and were more than accommodating throughout our whole planning process.

I highly recommend Matthew's as a reception venue. (For a smaller guest list, it could work for the entire affair - the outdoor patio would be beautiful for a small ceremony!)
