Matthias Photography

Matthias is an artist and a professional. After meeting with Matthias for a consultation, and then doing our engagement shoot, we really felt like we got to know him. He loves what he does, and this really becomes contagious when he starts shooting pictures. My family felt comfortable, and throughout the wedding people were complimenting us on finding kind and creative photographers (before they saw the pictures!). One of my bridesmaids was just engaged. I look forward to being at another wedding where he'll be taking the pictures! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! If I told you that you did a great, fantastic and exceptional job, that would be an understatement. So many guests were asking about you as they noticed you and your assistant’s attention to detail. My wife and I were so glad to have found you and be a part of our wedding. One of her aunts is planning on asking you to photograph her daughters 15th Birthday (Quincenera) sometime in December at Wedgewood.

Matthias took our engagement pictures & they were amazing! We got lots of compliments from guests at the wedding.

He chose some awesome locations around SF for the shoot & scouted them out before our appointment, which he scheduled so the lighting would be ideal at that time of day. Throughout the shoot, Matthias encouraged us to be ourselves, but still guided us for some flattering poses. =D My fiance usually doesn't like taking photos, but even he had fun & felt like the time flew by!

Matthias has an artist's eye for good photography, but even better his is ability to make people feel confident & comfortable in front of the camera. We've recommended him to all our newly engaged friends!

What was your favorite wedding photo? Hmm.. So many good ones. Maybe a picture of the groom and I laughing while our best man told a joke, or me dancing with my Dad, or so many from the photosession with just my husband and I.

How did the wedding photographer avoid disrupting the day? Great with candids? Action shots? Portraits? Matthias just has a great way with people. Its obvious that he loves what he does and is excited about getting beautiful pictures. This attitude is contagious, and part of the time I felt like we were on a picture scavenger, while during the service and much of the reception he blended in perfectly with the guests. I don't know how he managed to get so many telling pictures. H

What was included in your wedding photo package? Albums? DVDs? Engagement pics? Two photographers? We had Matthias shoot with an assistant, who was also absolutely fantastic. His pricing is pretty much a la carte, which makes it easy to design (and pay for) exactly what you want. We received DVDs, engagement pictures, and would like to have him build us an album in the future.

How did the photographer make you and family comfortable? Matthias is both a professional and an artist. He is on top of his game at all times, treating everyone with respect and kindness. He was genuinely interested in us and our wedding from when we first met him (schedule an engagement shoot if you can!). By the time of our wedding we felt like we knew him and expected great pictures. They were gorgeous.

I've worked with many wedding photographers over the years and was particularly impressed with Matthias' work. We had the opportunity to work together on a wedding at Bardessono in Yountville. The ceremony and cocktail hours were in different outdoor courtyards and the lighting was challenging. The reception room had two walls of plate glass and was dimly lit. He was able to capture the details of the flowers and underwater lighting in the reception pieces and took the most amazing photos to chronicle the day. The bride and groom were thrilled! I had an opportunity to see him in action and his manner was relaxed and unobtrusive and he was EVERYWHERE, capturing priceless memories. I've seen the end result and the shots were spectacular. His specialty is winery and estate weddings and I wholeheartedly recommend Matthias Photography.
