I found this jewelry boutique in the Riverwalk area of New Orleans and was knocked out by the jewelry. Swarovski crystals strung on enameled silver Italian wire. My MOH loved the earrings, necklace and bracelet and they looked great on her.
About MauRiMa's
Marianna Canu comes from a beautiful exotic island of Sardinya(Sardegna) Italy.There over twenty years ago she began her jewelry career doing experimental pieces for herself and her friends.
Romans, Egyptian architecture, and geometric forms inspired her resulting in some of the most stunning designs and patterns. Slowly she started provoking the attention and enthusiasm of a very involved audiences. This was when, inspired by the idea of creating her unique and dramatic but elegant style, she started working with precious metals, semiprecious stones, and Swarovski Crystals.
In 1995 with the support of her husband Maurizio Muzzetto, Marianna set up and run a small studio where she began designing and producing jewelry for several upscale jewelry boutiques in the Elite Tourist Resort of Sardegna,(Porto Rotondo,Porto Cervo and the Costa Smeralda.).
"Designing jewelry is an art form, it is a perfect marriage of emotional expression and craftmanship, " says the Italian designer.
In 1999 they moved to the United States with their son Riccardo to establish the Company now Known as MauRiMa`s, which is a combination of their three names, and was completed with the newborn Maurizio Junior, who fit inside the name of the Company in 2004.
Marianna Canu`s jewelry is handcrafted, her work is unique, colorful, dramatic and edgy, she often combines old world and contemporary designs.
Marianna has always found her muse in her husband Maurizio, who not only deeply believed in his wife talent, but also own and manages the company and also created some designs with her.
It was shortly after introducing her designs to the American market that collection such as Galaxy, Afrodite, Connectivity, Fantasia di Cristalli,Give me a Break, and Libellula, provoked deep interest and attention for the Italian jewelry designer. She then found herself producing jewelry for several upscale boutiques around the country. Several Hollywood celebrities have worn her jewelry.
In 2002 Marianna and Maurizio opened their first beautiful Gallery " MauRiMa`s by Marianna Canu" located in New Orleans.
