Maximum Music DJ Service

After reading the positive reviews of Maximum Music on Wedding Wire in early 2012, and learning that a friend and her husband had used Maximum and were very happy with them, we decided to basically narrow down our DJ search to just this company. Rod and Suzanne were both great to work with - always very available and responsive to communication and our needs. Rod was very helpful when it came to the final planning process and he also organised uplighting, extra speakers, and a projector for us to use.

My husband and I first met with Brent (who was the DJ at our wedding in February 2013) in April 2012. Brent was a fantastic DJ and everyone had a lot of fun. Many guests commented on how everyone enjoyed themselves as evidenced by the dance floor being packed and people staying and dancing late. Brent was kind to take on board song requests from the guests and play them basically immediately afterwards.

My only complaint would be that one of the speakers appeared uncooperative during our slideshow and the early part of the dinner reception. This was rectified prior to the dancing, however.

We would definitely recommend Maximum Music and it was an enjoyable experience working...

We were combining two cultures and asked the dj specifically for this service and they assured us that they could handle the latin music as well as the canadian music. We provided some songs and that was all they played along with other songs that we had on our DO NOT PLAY list, Gypsy Kings, Celia Cruz ....

Actually, I think they took our do not play list both English and Spanish and played that list. We didn't like the music at our wedding it turned out to be the regular wedding mix and that is not what we wanted BUT the dj did have the crowed dancing all night long and he was a great MC.

The service is good and their online music selection tool is good, it would have been better if the dj had our list of Must Hear songs and Do not play songs at the wedding...

Maximum Music provided excellent customer service and our DJ, Brent, was a great fit for our wedding. Everyone had a great time!

We contacted Maximum Music DJ Service because our venue recommended their service. After looking into their services and meeting with the DJ who actually hosted our wedding, we agreed to book with them. We also got a significant reduction on the service because of their affiliation with our venue. They were very professional and accommodative to our music requests. They even provide the Drop Box service so you can upload your own mp3's to your list of requests which makes the whole process easy. DJ Brent was fabulous and we would totally recommend him and Maximum Music DJ Service to anyone.

While planning our Toronto wedding from out of town, we couldn't have asked for a better experience with Maximum Music DJ Service. Everything leading up to the wedding went so smoothly. Rod & Allison were very responsive to the million emails we sent them; and they had an amazing online form that allowed us to completely customize our music experience at our wedding.

Tim the DJ was outstanding! He showed up well before the reception started, did an excellent introduction for the wedding party, and worked incredibly well with our MC. He played great music all night long... and even played a little longer than expected... which kept the party going and the dance floor packed. We couldn't have asked for a better day!

BEST DJ EVER! From start to finish, Maximum DJ was amazing and incredibly helpful at assisting us in planning the music for our wedding. Suzanne was very quick to respond to email of phone calls, and was always very kind and helpful in her suggestions. They had fantastic resources online, allowing you to pick as much or as little as you want in terms of the specific songs or genre's. Our DJ, Don was AWESOME, and I would highly recommend requesting him if possible. He was incredible at reading the crowd, and our guests had a blast dancing all night. We received so many compliments on the great mix of music for all ages, and that is wasn't just "typical wedding music". Don must have collaborated with our MC behind the scenes, but we never even noticed, other than that everything went off very smoothly. I never worried about the music all evening, because I knew we were in good hands with Maximum Music. We even received a call from the owner, Rod, a couple of weeks before our wedding to confirm all of the specifics, and he even made a few last-minute suggestions which were fantastic. Maximum Music DJ was incredible! Every detail from beginning of planning to the day of the wedding went smoothly. The online planning tools were excellent. We dealt with 2 different people in the office and they were both very friendly, professional, helpful and organized! The DJ Brent had everyone up dancing throughout the entire wedding! We are 50 years old, and had a small and tasteful wedding in the country. We wanted a professional, laid-back DJ to provide background music for the dinner, and then dance music afterwards.
I searched online for a DJ, and talked to a few vendors. Maximum Music stood out for their quick response and professionalism, and were a pleasure to deal with. I sent in a (long) list of my favourite songs, and they were happy to play them. Their website is very easy and they would have made a very appropriate song list for me if I didn't already have my own ideas in mind -- they're extremely flexible.
Equipment was great, DJ was very nice and good at his job. An all-around great experience with this company -- which hugely lessened my stress getting ready for the big day! I would highly recommend them.

I absolutely loved Maximum Music at my wedding on Sept 15 2012. I highly recommend them. Dana, our DJ, was outstanding. I got many compliments on the music as well as Dana himself. Everything went fine the day of wedding. Our DJ looked professional, came on time and played music throughout the night.

Where I wasn't as pleased was with the service. Prior to signing with them we were told we would be able to email the DJ music selections and that if we completed there online forms and selected music we want they would compile great music that suited our taste.

After signing we were told the DJ was too buy and that we could deal with the administrators only. Clearly our requests weren't communicated and they went on to play there standard list of songs.

An example: We selected the dinner music (as recommended by the DJ) which as never played . I was disappointed by this because it was both a discussion, in our notes and fill out on the form.

Most of the songs in the beginning of the night were difficult to dance to and old. Not old in a good way but old as in "All Saints". It was difficult to dance and most people cleared out and headed outside or to the bar.

As the night went on the songs improved but for me it was a bit late and I was kind of over dancing.

For the price there are a ton of DJ's out there that would provide more personal service. This felt t corporate and we felt our tastes and requests weren't met.

Not only did I receive multiple compliments from my guests, but I was blown away by how professional, friendly and helpful Jim was.  He was able to quickly download a special song that my guests requested, time everything we were doing perfectly and also interact wonderfully with my guests.  I can't wait to refer my friends & family to your wonderful DJ services.

Great service and staff members!! They are so wonderful to work with and the music was sooooo perfect!!!!!!!

Their extensive online database of wedding songs made planning our music selections very easy!

We originally chose Maximum DJ because of their pricing, the positive online reviews and their handy online planning tools. It hunk our music choices posed a bit of a challenge for them because we wanted so many different styles of music played, but it worked out in the end. We got some compliments on the music, and some people (older family) said they wished to have heard more of the type of music they listened to, but you can't please everybody. I thought the music was generally a huge success, and I'm thankful for the online planning tool to keep it all organized. Allison and Rod were AWESOME at answering emails. Though I haven't met Allison in person, she was so nice and helpful in emails.

We got some up-lights through Maximum DJ as well but sadly, they did not create the look I was going for. I think this may have been the venue as well because it was too bright (because of the sunlight earlier in the day, and because the house lights could not be dimmed later in the evening). Lesson here: if you're going to have up-lights, make sure their effect isn't lost.

Our DJ John did a good job generally. There was a mix-up on our part with part of the reception entrances and he did really well at dealing with that to the point where many guests didn't notice the mix-up at all. He did however forget to turn on the fog machine for our first dance, which would have made for a great moment and great pictures, but he tried to make up for it for using it for a slow-dance later in the evening, the only difference being that other couples were also...

Dana did an excellent job as the DJ of our wedding, and Rob and Allison were very professional in helping us put the evening together.

We provided some challenges with our wedding, as we needed to have a good mix of music to reach out to some of our Polish guests, and we were planning the wedding from our home in Washington, DC. Rob and Allison were terrific in helping us plan remotely, sending numerous e-mails and speaking with us on the phone to ensure everything went smoothly. We were able to provide Rob with some Polish music to cater to some of our guests, and he made sure it got to Dana.

Dana did a terrific job managing the evening, as the dance floor stayed packed throughout the evening. He catered to the mix of the crowd throughout the evening, and did a great job reading the dance floor.

I highly recommend Maximum DJ and Dana to anyone in search of entertainment for their wedding.

Mark did an amazing job at my daughters wedding. I must say I have heard about how great your service is but still I was blown away by Marks ability to keep everyone, young and old, on the dance floor all night long. I've had so many of our guests comment on the music that was played during dinner which was relaxing and set a great mood to begin our celebration. The bride and groom had all of their requests played and could not be more happy with the job Mark did to make their wedding reception a complete success. Thank you for helping out with editiing the song for the first dance and for your suggestions which I know were part of ensuring the music would be just right for our guests. I will definitely be recommending MaximumDJ to friends and family as needs arise for DJ services when their children are ready to plan a wedding or any other festive event.

Our DJ was absolutely fantastic. There was not a moment that the dance floor wasn't totally packed! He totally followed our request list for the cocktail hour, dinner music and dancing music. He did an amazing job acting as an MC (we chose to have our DJ as an MC rather than a friend or family member to speed things up a little) and we couldn't be happier!! We were thrilled with the service provided, it was a huge part of making the night into a great party. Very professional, easy to work with.

We had a fabulous time working with Maximum Music, from the day we met Allison and Dana right up to the end of the last dance at our reception!

Allison was our main contact. She was very sweet and was very quick to respond to our emails (there were MANY) - always getting back to us within a day. Since we had met Dana and liked him very much, we requested to book him for our DJ. I'm not sure if you can request your DJ, but we were fortunate to get him as ours. He's wonderful!

Throughout the planning process, we could sense that Maximum sincerely cared about what we wanted for our wedding and how it would turn out. Maximum Music's online planner was quite easy to use, and is full of suggestions for games and music. They really try to tailor their service and the experience to accommodate your needs and vision.

A week before our wedding, Rod got in touch with us to finalize the details and go through our online planner. This allowed us to confirm any changes that came up and gave us the assurance that details were not going to be missed. Rod also informed us that Dana would be available to work with our MC's to make sure that the timing of speeches, announcements, and such would be right and that those involved in each activity would be present. This helped to make our MC's jobs easier.

Furthermore, we had our first dance song performed live, and because of that, our videographer needed a way to record the song for our video. Rod worked with him and Dana to sort out the details of what was needed. We also created a backup plan in case we couldn't record the live music successfully, but we ended up not needing the backup.

At the end of the night, before the last of our party-hardy friends left, Dana came over to us and advised us to have our last dance while the bunch were still around. We did, and it was one of the most memorable moments of the night! We all had a blast!

We highly recommend Maximum Music. They're worth every penny!

Maximum DJ was absolute perfection from start to finish. The correspondence that Rod and Allison provided was very quick and reassuring but it was Mark the actual DJ himself that was exceptional. He knew exactly what songs to play at the appropriate times with little guidance from us. Our guests had an amazing time listening to him play and requested music all night long. Would highly recommend them to anyone for a wedding or an event. I think they would be hard to top and I'm generally a pretty fussy customer.

DJ Brent was amazing!!! He played everyone's requests and during our "kissing" game he even played the songs that others were singing right away! Our music was amazing because of our DJ!

So happy we went with Max Music. We managed to save money with them because we were a Friday wedding, a great bonus! Music was very important to us as my husband is a musician, so Max Music allowed us to meet with the DJ assigned to our wedding day before we signed anything. On the wedding day, our DJ Brent was awesome. He did a great job of coordinating with the MC, wedding coordinator and banquet captain to make sure everyone was on the same page. His song choices reflected the variety of ages we had in the crowd and since our dancefloor was packed until the very last minute I know he did an excellent job of keeping everyone happy (hard to do at many weddings!). Every time my husband or I needed something or wanted to hear something specific he was happy to oblige. The office staff (Rod and Allison) were extremely quick to respond to any questions and have a great online system for selecting your music and breaking down the process of organizing the reception into something very manageable. Overall an excellent experience!

Special thanks to Don.  He was fun and amazing!  All the music we requested were played smoothly, professionally, and at the perfect timing, from the ceremony till the end.  He also did a very good and professional job being our MC.  My family and friends had loads of fun and I have heard nothing but positive & wonderful feedback!  I hope Don had as much fun as we did.

Maximum Music have been very helpful throughout the wedding planning process and on the day itself. Responses to questions were always prompt and polite. Their website and the ability to choose from a wide array of songs and genres in terms of what to play and what not to play is far better than any of the other sites and companies we looked at.

On the day itself, our DJ did exactly what we asked him to and read the crowd really well in terms of what music was working.

We got married on May 5, 2012 and held our Reception at the Rosewater Room. I found Maximum DJ through an online search and contacted them right away. Right from the onset, the service was impeccable. There was such a personal touch to all the communications we had. My husband and I found the online tool very easy to use and gave us the confidence that everything was very well organized.

Our DJ on the wedding day was Denny and he was just outstanding!!!!! He greeted us with a warm smile, went through our playlist and totally understood the vibe we wanted for the party. If you want to hire a DJ service that is easy to deal with, listens to what your vision is and is well organized, than hire Maximum DJ!! They are truly amazing and really helped to make our perfect day even more perfect!!

I was really particular about our music. I wanted it to be a certain vibe (50's/60's pop and motown) with a few wild cards thrown in (80's hip-hop, a few disco hits from the 70's, etc.) Brent from Maximum DJ was really receptive to my input, and on the big day got it all down perfectly. He took care of the music during the ceremony, and all the cues were right on time. He definitely got the crowd amped up with his announcements - while not going too over the top and cheesy. When it came time to open up the dance floor, it was packed from about 10pm until the venue shut us down at 1am! Everyone complimented the music. I can't stress how happy I was with the way it turned out. They really understood what we wanted to hear, and equally important, what we didn't want to hear. I would easily recommend these guys. The price was great. The pre-planning was easy but also included some very in-depth customization. I've been to some other weddings where the bride and groom have told the DJ what they wanted, and ended up with something entirely different. This was not the case with us. Couldn't be happier.

Awesome! Played all the music we wanted, but also figured out the right timing for slow and fast songs. Kept the night alive. Really made the evening what it was. I had the pleasure of working with Maximum Music for our wedding - all I can say is, "WOW!"

We had initially won their services from the wedding show in September from a draw - my fiance and I actually didn't want to proceed with them even though it was free because we had a very specific request for our DJ and didn't want to just use anyone.

But after speaking with Rod, Allison and Suzanne, they were all so nice and convinced us that they would find a suitable DJ for our needs. We were confident that they were able to assign the right person so left it at that.

Dana was our DJ for the evening - we couldn't have asked for a more suitable DJ! We did not want an overly interactive DJ, a DJ that only knew one genre of music, or DJs that thought they ran the show. Dana was perfect and got the crowd going at the appropriate times! It was great.

My comment to future couples - Maximum Music really cares about your wedding and what you want - they WILL help you find the right person and not just send whoever is available. I have already recommended their services to other friends - hopefully you'll be giving them a call too!

Maximum DJ was one of THE best vendors out of our entire wedding planning process. We booked them fairly last minute, and my husband and I were very impressed by how prompt, courteous and professional the staff were (we dealt with Suzanne and Dana). We still have guests telling us that our music was the best they've ever enjoyed at a wedding reception, and we were on the dance floor all night. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Maximum DJ!

The entire experience was an excellent right from the first call I made to inquire about their services. All of the staff are so friendly and follow up promptly with any questions. We used Maximum Music DJ for our wedding in July. It was such an easy and painless process. They played great music and were so good at reading the crowd - they kept our guests dancing all night. Our DJ was also willing to take requests during the wedding which made our guests really happy.

We also had a Greek band at our wedding and the transition from DJ to band and back again was so smooth. He also did a great job introducing the bridal party.

The DJ was completely professional and picked the perfect music for cocktails, dinner and dancing. It really helped set the mood.

Excellent, professional DJ service. Our DJ (Denny) played all of our requests and kept the party lively. Their online music library made it easy to select the songs we wanted played (and specify those that we didn't want played) and even when a song wasn't listed, they found it for us. Not that it should matter, but we are a gay couple and were a little apprehensive about how the dj would handle it. He was amazing. Totally comfortable to work with and played awesome music. People still say it was the best wedding they had ever attended . He helped make it a perfect event.

Where do I begin?! Maximum Music was the one vendor who made the wedding planning process a breeze. Very organized and easy to work with. We had the pleasure of working with DJ, Brent Miller and he was FANTASTIC. His energy, responsiveness and professionalism truly made it a night to remember. Rod McMahon was always available to answer any questions I may have had and both he and Brent executed our vision better than I ever could have imagined. The dance floor was rammed from start to finish! We are enlisting their services again this March for my mother-in-law's 65th birthday bash and I have no doubt they will exceed my expectations once again. Professional, fun, entertaining, exciting - Mike was amazing. He kept everyone on the dance floor until the end of the night. We felt that spending a little extra on the DJ was so important. The Music is 90% of the day and evening. If the DJ doesn't read the crowd or bride and groom the night will not go well. Mike was dressed immaculately, was super professional but also fun and very entertaining. He improvised throughout the night and made our dance interactive and unforgettable. People are still talking about our wedding and Mike's entertainment to this day! Thanks again!

Fantastic. Very friendly and responsive before the wedding. They made sure I got exactly the music that I wanted all night. At one point, the wedding next door was loud during our dinner and the DJ went over and got them to turn down their music. Very good quality and I would recommend them to others.
