We held our reception in Boston Chinatown, and we were looking for a cake place that was nearby and within budget. May's Cake House is one of our favorite bakeries in Chinatown for Chinese pastries, but it is kind of a hole in the wall. There's nothing extremely fancy about the store or their wedding cakes (they can't make lots of unique or original designs using fondant etc. - only traditional frosting and designs), but they were very flexible to accomodate what we wanted, and the price was extremely reasonable. The only last note is that they only accept cash, so be prepared.

They were easy to work with and had great prices. They also didn't have pieces in the cake that you have to return or put a deposit down for, which was great. (That saved a lot of hassle for the day of.) They also don't normally deliver, but they delivered for us anyway, because our venue was right around the corner. The only downside was that communication was a little tough at times because of the language barrier.
