Highly recommend

We had a simple cake made for our reception as we had a dessert table with homemade goodies my grandmothers and aunts made. The cake we cut was delish! And I am NOT a cake person. My family has been using this company for years. I don't see that changing anytime soon

The cake tasting was wonderful! But that was were it all stopped. Everything had a "small fee" or "an additional fee." My cousin used McArthur's at his wedding a few years ago and the cake was not delivered on time. It you have the money or it's included in your reception go for it the cake is wonderful! But if your on a budget go for the cake tasting but move on.

The cake was fantastic. It looked beautiful and tasted even better!

Our cake was beautiful and delicious and many of our guests complimented it even after our wedding. They had so many choices, and were able to make the exact cake that I wanted. Their price was more than reasonable and they were very friendly and helpful.

Our cake was not only beautiful, but delicious as well. Each layer (3 total) was a different flavor. We received many compliments. I was even able to take home the cake tasting options vs. doing it in the shop because my fiance and I work opposite hours so there was no way to do it together.


Everything was perfect.

Got my wedding cake and my groom's cake from here. Everything was delicious, every single piece of both cakes were gone.

McAuthur's provided me with exactly what I wanted. My cake was perfect, delicious, and delivered on time. I even rented a cake stand and it was perfect. The one thing that disappointing me was the the owner of this Bakery in St. Louis uses his business as a way to promote his conservative right-wing politics. It's because of this that my sister in law will not be using their services for her wedding in May. He blasted a local member of Congress on his electronic sign outside of his bakery for supporting a particular piece of legislation. If he would have kept his politics to himself, I'd still be a customer.

McArthur's did an amazing job on our cake. We went with a basic three-tiered buttercream -- two levels of chocolate and one level of amaretto, and everyone LOVED it. The design color came out perfectly, the cake tray was much less foil-y than expected (a very good thing), and the frosting was smooth enough to accommodate our topper. All in all, I would go with McArthur's again in a heartbeat!

Amazing!
Not only was our cake elegant and appealing to look at, but it also tasted spectacular! We opted for a larger cake that contained a different flavored filling on each layer.The top layer was a yellow cake with custard filling. The next layer was yellow cake with lemon filling. The third layer consisted of chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream mousse filling. The last layer consisted of amaretto cake with raspberry filling. Yum! It was worth every penny:)There is a picture of it in my album. ( Don't forget to do the cake tasting. It's a blast and the staff is very friendly.)

I would highly recommend mcarthur's bakery for your wedding. They are professional and let you taste whatever you want. The cake was good and the value for your money is unbeatable.

Mcarthur's made us a wonderful wedding cake and also a groom's cake.I felt very confident that they would do a good job when I met with them and they showed me what they could do.In terms of taste and ingredients used in their cakes,you wont find better anywhere.Great bakery and service.

We did a small cutting cake and sheet cakes for our 250 guests. They were able to give us a great price. Cake is good, reliable. Other places tasted better, but this was a good price for a good product.

Our reception hall actually ordered our cake for us, so we never actually spoke to anyone from the bakery. Therefore, we can't give any input as far as service goes. We can say that our wedding cake was delicious, and we are very glad that we ordered from them. The only bad thing is that their cakes are pretty expensive, but they taste great!

McArthur's Bakery is one of the greatest bakeries in the St. Louis area. You can always count on McArthur's Bakery to always taste great and never let you down. They offer a wide variety of flavors and styles for wedding cakes. They have deals with several area reception locations where your cake is included in the price of your venue. I took advantage of this and have not been disappointed! I have been to numerous wedding receptions with McArthur’s cakes, and they never cease to amaze me. Delicious and moist, every time!

My son-in-law wanted a red velvet wedding cake which is a little unusual, but McArthur's Bakery made it happen. It was delicious and the decoration was beautiful, you can't go wrong with McArthur's for cake. 5 stars!

McArthur's always does a fantastic job on birthday cakes, so we knew they would also do a great job on Wedding Cakes. We were able to taste different fillings, and cake types. I also brought in photos of what I wanted the exterior of the cake to look like, and they were happy to design it.

Very friendly!!!!!!! There cake is delicious and not overpriced. i didn't feel pressured to spend more than my budget allowed on cake.

Mcarthur's Bakery designed a beautiful cake for us based on some of the unique ideas our designer discussed with us when we first met.It was a really delicious tasting cake and was decorated really well.Our guests liked it a lot and didn't think a cake could taste so good.We definitely made a good choice when we decided Mcarthur's to make out wedding cake!

I would highly recommend McArthurs bakery for a wedding cake. The cake was delicious and the deals were very reasonable. They are a professionally run bakery in the St. Louis area and I recommend the strawberry filling in a white cake... very good!! They have delicious icing too :)

My cake was actually included with my reception. It was ordered from MacArthur's Bakery and it was so good! My husband and I didn't even wait to eat our top layer. We ate it the week after we got married because we didn't want it to go bad in our freezer after a full year. They even let me incorporated our colors in the icing so it was extra special for us. I would highly recommend this bakery.


 Easy to work with, the tasting was amazing, kind of wished there were more options in cake flavor but was overall very happy, lots of options for cake designs, delivery was perfect, cake was fresh, soft & moist.

Our wedding cake was delicious and the design was exactly what we asked for. They were very helpful throughout the planning and tasting appointments. I'm only sorry that I was too busy to eat any at the reception!

The cake turned out better than I could have ever imagined, and tasted great as McArthurs always does. I did have one issue with them. When I went for the cake tasting, I had a coupon that expired at the end of the month. While there, I asked if we could wait and use it closer to the wedding date (I was about 7 months out) and they said sure. When I went back to place the order a few months later they weren’t going to let me use the coupon. Then they told me they no longer had those coupons (which wasn’t true) and gave me less off.

My cake was SPECTACULAR, a true focal point at my reception. The designer worked so closely with me to make my vision come to life in the form of a fantastic cake. The plus side? It tasted even BETTER than it looked!

McArthur's Backery is exceptional! They provide taste testing and a wide variety of wedding cake options. The company was flexible and let me mix and match the cake fillings. They also delivered the cake the day of my wedding, I didn't have to do anything!

McArthur's did a GREAT job on my cake! We picked a design that they just came up with and I loved it! It tasted Great and we got so many compliments on the way it looked. They were also good to work with. I couldn't make my initial appointment and sent my parents instead and they let me in on a Saturday when they weren't open to view the cake!

I ordered a cake through my reception facility from McArthur's. It was tasty, beautiful, everything I wanted my cake to be! They put the color ribbon I wanted around each tier so it looked great.

My wedding cake was included in the deal at my reception venue, but was provided by McArthur's bakery. We got to sample lots of different kinds (six flavors and 6 fillings). They were all delicious! On the wedding day, the cake was delivered on time and looked gorgeous!

I loved the cake that they provided. Looking back at the photos one tier looked crooked, but that may have been the wallpaper.

The only complaint I would have is the first time I went, the coordinator would not allow me to order the cake that I wanted. He said I needed to come up with my own idea. I was a little aggrivated at that.

Overall, the cake was great - it was gone in about 30 minutes at the wedding. Everyone had seconds!

The cake was wonderful and the colored fountain was awesome. Im not sure how much the cake cost cause it was included in our package deal but it sure was yummy

To date, I believe I had the BEST wedding cake of anyone I know. As McArthur’s is a staple bakery in the area, we began ordering their samples of various cake flavors, icings and fillings early into wedding planning. To please the crowd (and ourselves) we ended up selecting a simple three tier design. The layers included a white cake with chocolate mouse filling, a chocolate layer with raspberry filling and a plain white top tier all with white icing. On their website the style is #377. EVERYONE asked where the cake had been ordered, as it was so delicious. As tradition, my mother froze our top tier for our first anniversary-guess what? It was just as good one year later.

Although the cake turned out gorgeous and tasted great, we had trouble getting a straight answer to our questions. I actually had to go back a second time after finalizing my order and reorder because the employee did not know that they could not do what they told us they could. In the end it turned out perfect!

The people at McArthur's knew exactly what I wanted and were able to make the cake that I wanted. It was amazing and the people helping me knew what little extras to put it to make my cake unique.

The cake was delicious and it looked exactly as I had ordered it!

They did a pretty great job, and cake tasted great. I just wish they would have done something on the top layer of the cake to make it stronger, b/c with the buttercream frosting my monogram topper sunk down in the cake and it was hard to even stay on the top with out falling through the cake.

The groom's cake had the wrong number on it, but that was the only problem.

The cake for rehearsal wasn't ready in time, but they did a great job at fixing the problem.

The cake was beautiful and delicious. Visiting the bakery and having a "cake tasting" was fun, and it didn't even take very long. They have done tons of cakes over the years so they are very experienced. It was $500 for a four-tier cake with a gum-paste bow on top. Worth every penny! Everyone loved the cake!

Absolutely gorgeous and delicious cake!

McArthur's has a great selection, and they made us a gorgeous cake. We looked through the book and saw a cake with fruit on it, asked if we could have it be all strawberries on top, they did it without a problem and without charging us extra. The cake was delicious and gorgeous, everyone who has seen the pictures has said it was one of the most beautiful cakes they have ever seen. They were amazing!

they were a little expensive but the service was soo great and the cake turned out absolutely beautiful!

We like the selection that McArthur's Bakery had. The tasting appointment was a pleasant one. We decided on different flavors for different layers of the cake. All were very good. We just provided a swatch of fabric for the colors and the cake was wonderfully matched. The price was a bit high but we still purchased our cake from them. The staff was very nice. We had no complaints.

Our cake was deeeeeeeeelicious! I love McArthur's. The key to saving on cakes is getting sheet cakes to supplement your real cake, and those are cut up in the back and served. McArthur's did a great job... the only bad thing was that they charge a lot of little extras, like putting ribbon on the tiers. I ended up just bringing my own ribbon and doing it myself.

Our wedding cake was sooooo yummy! We had a different flavor for each level of our cake. They were so open to our ideas and gave some creative ideas as well.

Beautiful!!!! I wanted squares and they accomplished this perfectly. Very professional service and when dealing with them you knew they could do anything. They had a lot of examples of cakes they did in the past, so that made it very easy to pick and choose from each different cake what I wanted.

Lip-smacking good!! You won’t find another bakery that can do what McArthur’s can. I was so intrigued when I stopped by too see what they had to offer. They actually have their own wedding room filled with almost every aspect of a wedding. My favorite part of the entire experience would have been tasting the cake samples, as was my husband's : )

BEST CAKE IN ST. LOUIS!!!!

I'm a huge fan of McArthur's Bakery. They have beautiful traditional cakes, but are up for anything. We went non-traditional with turtle cheesecake and lemon merengue pies. They gave us a great price and the cheesecake was awesome. Our guests raved about it and loved having something unique.

So much more then just a wedding cake. The whole experience with them is great. They are very detailed in their work. They work clean and precise. Many styles to choose from. They offered many sizes and pricing was good. They offer a very rich cake for a great price. You have many flavors to choose from and the cake will arrive fresh and yummy. They have a few locations and they are all convenient to wedding reception locales. You can also customize your cakes, the bakers are very easy to work with and will cater to your needs. They have a delivery service and are very prompt. You can also sample cakes before you make a commitment to go with them. You can also purchase your cutting utensils from the bakers shoppe. They make great bachelor's cakes and groom's cakes too! 


Ok this is going to be a tough review. My final product was absolutely freaking amazing, if a little dry (they prebake and freeze their cakes..and you can tell).

BUT everything leading up to that was just a fiasco. They treated us like dirt at our meeting, after making us wait over an hour past our appointment time. If I was not contractually obligated to use them, I would NEVER had used them.

One piece of advice:
Instead of freezing our cake for our anniversary, we ordered new. We learned that we had to give them 4-5 months notice to do so. Which we hadnt done so we had to find another baker to remake.

I think that's insane for 1 8" layer cake.

Their cake is WONDERFUL. They are a bit pricey, but the cake was great!
