Reviews for memory makers

I would like to thank Guy and Memory Makers for their help in creating an amazing and memorable evening for my wedding night. They played exactly the type of music we had requested and really knew how to work a crowd with his DJ skills and musical choices. He was not the typical cheesy Dj and was quite professional. Our crowd really had a good time with the music and entertainment for the evening. I would highly recommend Memory Makers for your future wedding and other events. ~Carrie Ann, Lacey, NJ

I am very disappointed with DJ Chris. Initially, the consultation with him and his dad DJ Guy was very encouraging-- I chose to ignore the previous reviews because I thought providing thorough song lists and ethnic CD's (ie. Slumdog Millionaire and Punjabi MC) would be a no brainer for a DJ. However, it appears that DJ Chris lost that sheet of 20+ requested songs I'd typed on a Word Document and relied on a rough copy. More than once, he had a tough time mixing the music and once the CD SKIPPED for minutes because of some scratches. I was mortified. I wanted more sophisticated music, but I think we have different definitions of that word because there was some UNREQUESTED stuff you'd hear on 106.7 Lite FM. He didn't have a song for the cake cutting and I had to come up with one on the spot-- not something you'd want to go over when guests are watching you. But what really was horrible was that the DJ messed up my husband's last name like 5 times when introducing us. That is embarrassing and I did NOT like how the guests came up to tease us about that. For the bouquet toss, I had requested during the cocktail hour that he call out the bride's friends, but he called out ALL the single ladies so my best friend didn't get the bouquet but a guest of my husband's friend did. You cannot forget this sort of detail!!! Despite "20 years of experience" he was careless and unprepared. I regret going with this vendor because it ruined big aspects my wedding... One thing I liked were the live musicians (violinist and cellist). At least they got things right and made a good first impression until the DJ part began.

They were very easy to work with and took all our lists of songs and made a point of saying they played the style we wanted and tailored it to us. But the night of our wedding overall I was very disappointed, Guy was our DJ and he played the dance music too soon and mixed it with slower songs so unfortunately I felt like the dancing never really had a chance to get started. I specifically asked for Frank Sinatra, Frankie Vallie type music for dinner and he played one song then switched back to dance music, and when i asked for it he played it later in the night. The last few songs where people should be dancing I have never even heard so everyone was just standing around, he was not able to read the room to realize that we were waiting for some good music. I would not recommend them to anyone, they know what to say to you but did not follow through the day of our wedding.

I am being honest bride when I write this, the quality of music played by Memory Makers at my wedding was very dissapointing. They appear to be professional, but the night of my wedding, they weren't. The DJ didn't mix the music well at all. I would not hire them again and I am writing this because I would not want another bride to experience what I did. My new husband was also very dissapointed. Do not hire them for your wedding if you want to have good "memories" of the event.

Guy did an amazing job keeping everyone on the dance floor all night long. People were dancing even before we ate dinner!

I am really happy that we hired Memory Makers for our wedding. Guy played EXACTLY what we requested, didn't play anything on our do-not-play list, and picked music that really suited the crowd. We had an afternoon wedding and wanted someone who would move the reception along nicely and play music without all the hype and cheesiness, and Guy did just that. He was punctual, respectful, and really managed the volume well- we could hear each other talk during the meal, and the music was loud enough without being deafening while we danced. Memory Makers had REALLY reasonable prices, and if you're looking for a budget-friendly DJ who plays the music without a whole lot of fuss, I definitely recommend them.

These DJ's were amazing! They listened to what we requested and were great at picking songs that everyone could enjoy. Their prices are resonable and they have many great options to add on to your package.

I had a lot of stress after we chose Memory Makers. I couldn't find anyone that had used them, so I really didn't have much to go by. My worries were unfounded, as Guy did a great job and exactly what we wanted. We didn't want anyone really 'high energy' or cheesy, and he fit the bill perfectly. I can't comment on the pianist b/c I really didn't hear or see him/her during the cocktail hr. The package was a steal for 4 hrs DJ and 1 hr musician during the cocktail hr.
