Most brides love wedding dress shopping, but when you are petite, it's sometimes more of a pain. However, Mestads helped make it a fun experience. With there help, I found the perfect dress at an exceptional price. I also used Mestads for bridesmaid dresses and tuxes and everyone was really happy with their service and expertise. Mestads is a must-stop for brides in Southern Minnesota.

I can't describe to how great these guys were! They were right there so excited for me when I found the perfect dress and they were not all about the money, they were all about making me happy! When I had went to every bridal store in town without success of finding the perfect bridesmaid dress line, they encouraged me and assured me it was supposed to be fun! Four of the associates stayed by my side brainstorming and listening to my complicated requirements (one of the ladies even stayed after work for a while to try to help). I walked out of that store with the perfect line that was affordable, had the perfect shade of orange, in the right material and length, with several different styles that my girls could choose from. One of my bridesmaids needed a special neckline also. Anyways, they were awesome! I also got all of our tuxes there and I had an enormous wedding party and they got everyone's tuxes perfect right down to the T.

I found the dress of my dreams at Mestads. I always had awesome appointments at Mestads. I had some unique situations with family and Mestads was always more than accomodating. We used Mestads for all of our bridal party attire: bridesmaids, tuxedo rental, ring bearer tux, bride's jewelry, etc.I would HIGHLY recommend Mestads.

I found a perfect dress!

I bought my wedding dress and my bridesmaids' dresses at Mestads. I have mixed feelings about the experience. My dress was wonderful, but alterations will put a big hole in your budget, especially when you wanted to order a size smaller but they told you to go with the bigger anyway--see, then you have to pay them for alterations. Even though the alterations were expensive they looked great! I had my first fitting seven months before the wedding (I live four hours from Rochester and had my fittings when I could make it up there), and I called back in May wanting to make a second appointment only to find out they hadn't touched my dress at all in those five months!! They were mad, but they had five months to start working on it and knew I had to travel there. Needless to say, they made it work for me and the alterations turned out great.My bridesmaids felt their salesman was very pushy, and he was very pushy on sizes as well. I understand it's easier to take a dress in than to let it out, but they were recommending sizes that were three sizes bigger than what my girls had worn for recent weddings. My girls went against his judgment and ordered the sizes they felt they needed and they worked out great. One more complaint was that they were terrible about letting me know when my dress was in and when my bridesmaid dresses were in. I found out my dress was in about three weeks after it had arrived. Again, I had a good distance to travel and wasn't happy dealing with this delay. With this, they weren't good about getting swatches sent to me. I had to call back more than once to remind them to send me swatches of my dress and the bridesmaid colors--once my sister who lived in town, had to stop in to pick them up as they still hadn't sent them.

Mestad's was the perfect dress shopping experience. I had gone because it was close to home and my sister had gone the year before and they were great with her as well. I am a plus sized girl and they were very helpful. They had dresses in every size and if I liked a dress that wasn't my size they were great at "pinning" it on me so I could see what it would look like. Lindsey was a doll! They did our tuxes also. They got us in for appointments right away and were very quick with alterations. They do get busy during prom.

Terrible customer service. I felt rushed and pushed into buying the dress (although I love it) ... The sales consultant lied to me about who made the dress, came back the following week to try it on again and to meet with the designer of the dress like she had told me ... But it was actually just some jewelery designer ... Nice .. Would never buy anything from here ever again...

Mestad's employees are extremely helpful when picking out the wedding attire and the selection is outstanding. The only problem that I had was my bustle wasn't very "sturdy" as it came out by the dance.

I was able to find the perfect dress here off the interent but the associate wasn't able to find it so they suggested some other stores to look at and that they would be able to order for me. Once the associate realized I wasn't buying a dress that day, she didn't seem as concerned on finding me other options. But I was able to find my dress and order through Mestads since i didn't want to travel, everything came out great.

I like Mestad's and had an overall positive experience with this vendor.The best thing about Mestad's is their product line. There were several dresses in the store that I liked. But they are quite pricey and so only a few of these dresses worked with my budget. The second best thing about Mestad's is that they are able to serve your entire attire needs for a wedding. My wedding dress, the bridesmaids dresses, the tuxedos, and my mother-in-law's dress were all purchased at Mestad's. It was nice to get everything taken care of with one vendor.The staff, with only a few exceptions, was enthusiastic and helpful. I also had a bustle added to my dress and the tailoring staff did a superb job!The only annoyances were that the staff kept calling me "Hon" and "Sweetie". I am an older bride and a professional and I don't like being called either, particularly by saleswomen that are several years younger than me.The second annoyance was that I felt that I was constantly be sold to. I had purchased quite a bit of our wedding apparel from the store and I when I say that I do not want to buy my veil/shoes/jewelry/accessories there, then please honor that and stop selling me more!But, the overall experience was good and if you can ignore the constant sales pitches and being called "hon"...well then Mestad's is a good store for your wedding attire.

They had good prices, but I wish they would have paid more attention to my needs.

Awful!!! They don't know how to measure correctly and their customer service is horrible. Shop somewhere else!

I do not recommend purchasing any wedding attire through Mestad's. They did not measure me correctly and ordered my dress in the wrong size. What's worse, the dress was supposed to be ordered in a petite size and it came in as a normal length. Once you order you can not get your money back or have anything fixed. They firmly believe all sales are final even if they are the ones that messed up. I wouldn't deal with them again!

I'm a CA bride who called Mestad's to inquire about ordering my Amsale bridesmaid's dresses from their store. (I didn't want to pay CA sales tax, which had just been raised to almost 9%.) Not only did I not have to pay tax, but Mestad's had the dresses for $50 less than my local bridal salon. I worked with Grace and she was great! My girls just had to call in with their measurements and Grace took care of everything else. Shipping was $16, which wasn't bad considering we saved about $80 on each dress. The dresses came in really early and in perfect condition!

We used Mestads for my wedding dress, the bridesmaids' dresses, and our tuxedo rentals. The staff was so helpful in selecting my dress and the bridesmaid dresses. I was very happy with the prices and thought they were very fair for the quality of the gowns. I had my dress altered at Mestads and it fit me perfectly. They also did a fabulous job on the bustle. All of the men who rented tuxedos were from out of town, but it was no problem getting them the right size tux. Everyone looked great that day!

I enjoyed working with Barb when I picked out my wedding dress. The only complaint I have is that I don't think the groomsmen vests were the colored we had picked out. Otherwise, they are very easy to work with.

I would NEVER recommend anyone to go here! Every sales person tells you something else. They even ordered my wedding dress in the WRONG size, then when I finally got it it had beads falling off of it and it had a snag in it! This is the WORST place to get your wedding dress. Spend your money someplace else.

I went to Mestad's for my first bridal gown experience. They were very helpful, friendly and worked one on one with you as a consultant. They listened to the what I had liked and pulled dresses that fit that description. They were very interactive with my mom and sisters and a joy to try on dresses with!

The Mecca of bridal dress salons...We live in St. Paul, got my dress in Rochester, that has to say something! If you go, ask for Grace, She is something else, she is the best!

Mestad's was really helpful and the service was great. The staff there make you feel like you are the only bride in the world! They had a ton of different selections to choose from, and in all price ranges which was really nice. Not only did they have a number of designer lines, they also had bridal accessories…for bridesmaids too! I found the dress of my dreams here and I was so glad we didn't have to travel to the cities to look for further selection.

The staff at Mestad's was very helpful and made my wedding dress shopping a pleasent experience. Grace was the specialist that helped me and I would recommend her in a heart beat. She listened and made the whole experience memorable, as it should be!!

I bought my wedding dress from Mestads, but went through multiple sales people to find one that was actually interested in what I wanted as opposed to just selling a dress. I'm not sure of the lady's name who sold my dress to me, but she was very personable and down to earth (a woman in her 50's mom looking type, brown hair). The alterations were a disaster. I had two different seamstresses. First off I had 2 dress fittings where nothing was done. And on top of it, one fitting the seamstress asked if I had gained a little weight even though my dress still fit fine. Then I tried my dress before the wedding it was taken in wrong, we had to talk with the owner before anything was done about it. It was just added stress before the wedding. I thought the alteration price was a bit high compared to the service. I would recommend this place to get the dress, but find a different place to get it altered.

The staff here is hit or miss. When I first bought my dress there was one nice lady working there. She was an older lady, but she has since retired. The lady that I actually bought my dress from was younger and pushy. I feel like she rushed me into my decision and she definitely didn't explain to me how the dress was made and that because of the way it was made there would be $1000 in alteration costs. I would have liked to have known that before I ordered the dress. Then there was a new girl that they put me with the day that my dress came in. She didn't know what she was doing at all. And then there is the other girl who works nights and can't stop saying "hun" all night long. She is really snooty. Overall, the service here is terrible. They don't know how to take your measurements correctly. They just want to make a sale and don't care about how they treat you after you pay for the dress. I would not recommend Mestad's at all.

Mestads were great at helping me find a dress I liked, but the failed to inform me that the next day they were having a huge sale in which the dress I wanted was greatly discounted.

I was helped by Grace-she picked out a dress for me to try on after none of the ones I picked looked right. It was the dress that I bought and it was beautiful, well made, and I got so many compliments.

Out of the Twin Cities, but huge selction, wonderful, helpful, and cheerful sales ladies- A great expericence.

I spent a lot of looking at dress stores in the cities and none of them had anywhere near the selection. Very large space- easy to see/find dresses. All of the staff that I dealt with were great- I happened to get lucky and buy my dress off the rack during their 50% sale. The alterations seemed pricey- I ended up getting mine done locally so I wouldn't have to drive so far for fittings but that's really the only negative I can think of. The fitting rooms in this store are the best- very large- and they even have special lighting so you can see what you would look like in dimmed lighting or with a spotlight!

There were so many dresses to choose from. Anyone would be able to find the dress of their dreams here. THe staff was so friendly every time I went in for fittings or just to show someone else my dress :) THe dresses were affordable compared to other shops I had visited. It was a perfect experience.

Problems with alterations, and no one seemed to be concerned with it at the store. Had to do 4 fittings, and my dress finally was ok two days before my wedding. It was a designer gown that was 4000 and they did awful alterations that needed to be fixed. Some of the sales people were awful, in fact, one even commented on my choice of underwear while she was helping me get dressed.

Good service, dresses were great, large selection, staff not snooty.

I was very impressed and happy with both my service and purchase at Mestad's in Rochester. I searched for several weekend in a row in the Twin Cities at all the boutiques and salons on Grand and in Mpls and thought I would never find the right dress for me. I decided to go to Mestads since I live in Rochester and see what a salon in a "smaller" city could offer. The women who helped me actually suggested the dress I wore on my wedding day based on looking at my figure and it fit beautifully. For a "smaller" city location they have a metropolatin selection and style!

Everything is pretty spendy but they have beautiful gowns, buy off the rack save $

We rented our tuxes from Mestads. They looked great and when we had one groomsmen with the wrong fit they offered to drive the tux halfway to the wedding. Very professional.

As with everything wedding related... it was expensive... however they carried my dress designer that I knew I wanted. My dress had to be bought off the rack...3 sizes too big and they still made it fit me by the date of my wedding (only 4 months after we got engaged). Very professional, my sisters always get their prom dresses from them too! Great selection...it's just kid of far away from the Twin Cities.

I bought their most expensive designer gown, and while they were incredible and helpful before I purchased it, tehy were atrocious after they had money. They ended up losing the gown in shipping 3 times. It took 6 weeks longer to be delivered, leaving me a week to have it altered.They also sold me a dress that did not fit. They took my measurements and the dress size they chose ended up being 2 sizes to small AFTER I had already lost 35 lbs from the measurment until the fitting. I ended up needing hundreds of sollars on alterations becuase they wanted to makea sale and the dress did not end up looking like the same dress. Please don't shop here if the way you look and feel is important to you on your wedding day.

I purchased my dress at the Sample Sale. The Christos dress was perfect.

They were sometimes really great to work with but at other times we had to fight for their attention. I thought that they were a little high on some items and at times, weren't very accomodating. We ended up getting bridesmaids dresses, wedding dress, and all the tuxes there. Beware when they say that the groom gets his free. If you do any sort of upgrades, you have to pay the difference. We weren't too clear on that. On a positive note, they carry some designers that are unique to the area so you won't have to neccessarily worry about getting the same dress(es) as everyone else. And for bridesmaids dresses, they do have a large collection.

They were all so supposrtive and were always excited to help out me and my bridesmaids. They always gave their honest opinions!

They were great! My alterations were really well-they blended in perfectly! They weren't pushy on dress and listened to what I was looking for.

We had got several things through Mestad's. My husband and best man got their tux's, and they were very helpful with it, they made sure everything was just right. They had everything ready to go before the wedding day- no delays! Our invitations were pretty standard, but no complaints, they were exactly how I ordered them and came early.

Mestads (mens side) is always a pleasant experience. We've used them for proms and weddings and have never had a problem.

My wife searched all over the state and little did she know that right here in our hometown was the perfect dress. Not to mention the staff at Mestad's was exceptional. They altered a dress the day before the wedding.
